Gaza agricultural expert Nizar Al-Wahidi:

⭕ The agriculture sector, especially poultry and crop production, is nearly paralyzed due to Israel's ban on importing feed, vaccines, seeds, fertilizers, spare parts, and irrigation and energy supplies.

⭕ The Israeli blockade has caused food prices to soar, forced hundreds of farms out of production, and compounded poverty and malnutrition among families.

⭕ Food aid alone is not a solution; it is temporary and does not restore the community's productive capacity.

⭕ We call for a shift from relief to agricultural reconstruction by supporting the rehabilitation of damaged greenhouses, repairing wells, and providing essential materials to start a new farming season.

NEW | Israel Holds Palestinians from Gaza in Underground Prison Without Sunlight or Trial - The Guardian

Israel is detaining dozens of Palestinians from Gaza in the underground Rakefet prison, a facility long closed for being “too cruel”, where detainees live without sunlight, face torture, hunger, and are cut off from their families.

Human rights lawyers say most of those held are civilians, including a nurse and a teenage food seller, both detained without charge or trial.

The far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reopened Rakefet after October 7, 2023, filling its underground cells with Palestinians held in darkness and subjected to beatings, starvation-level food, and psychological abuse.

The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI), described the prison as a deliberate system of inhumane confinement and torture that violates international law, noting that over 1,000 Palestinians from Gaza remain imprisoned under such conditions despite the declared ceasefire.

“When I was offered evacuation by the EU to a safe place, as an EU employee who had served for 20 years, I accepted the offer.”

“But had I known that my fate would be dismissal from my job and being left in a place with no residence or basic human rights, I would have never agreed to it. None of this was explained to me beforehand.”

Mohammed Baraka, a Palestinian who worked with the EU Border Assistance Mission in Rafah since 2006, has filed a lawsuit in Belgium accusing the European Union of breaching labor laws and discriminating against him based on nationality, The Guardian reports.

Baraka, who was evacuated to Cairo after Israel’s genocide on Gaza began, continued his duties remotely until his dismissal this year when the EU closed its Rafah office. His lawyer says that while European colleagues were transferred to other posts, Baraka alone was terminated.

Watch | Myron Gaines talks about Israel’s quiet takeover of major social media platforms, including X, Facebook, and TikTok, by placing pro-Israel or former government officials in key positions to manipulate algorithms and control narratives.

He says the move is part of Netanyahu’s broader effort to “clean up” Israel’s image following the global backlash after October 7.

Gaines warns this growing influence could lead to sweeping censorship and stricter bans than those seen under Twitter 1.0, as Israel gears up for another military escalation.
