Several U.S. politicians, including Seth Moulton, Zohran Mamdani, and Graham Platner, are refusing donations from the pro-Israel lobby AIPAC to show independence and support for Palestine.
Refusing AIPAC funds signals opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza and a commitment to prioritize constituents’ interests. This stance is becoming a mark of authenticity for candidates, reflecting growing U.S. public support for Palestinians.
Even as AIPAC attempts covert funding campaigns, rejecting its money is now a key part of progressive and some conservative campaigns advocating “America First” policies over foreign influence.

After ceasefire in Gaza, banks reopened on October 16, 2025, but Israel’s ban on banknote transfers created a severe cash shortage, making most daily transactions nearly impossible. Many banks were damaged or destroyed during the war, further complicating life for residents.
Palestinians need cash for everyday expenses such as buying food and paying bills, but limited liquidity forced some to rely on merchants charging high fees of 20–40% to cash salaries. Some residents repaired damaged banknotes to cover basic needs, while others used banking apps that imposed additional fees.
The cash crisis exacerbates hardships for Palestinians who lost homes, jobs, and relatives, with some resorting to bartering to meet essential needs, highlighting fragile economic and social conditions in Gaza after the war.
About 40 international humanitarian organizations, including Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, and the Norwegian Refugee Council, accused Israel of obstructing humanitarian aid to Gaza, warning that these restrictions are worsening the humanitarian crisis affecting over two million Palestinians.
The organizations said Israeli authorities had rejected 99 aid requests in recent weeks and imposed bureaucratic delays that prevent timely delivery of food, water, and medicine.
They described Israel’s actions as a violation of international humanitarian law, calling on the international community to ensure immediate and safe access for humanitarian aid.
The statement stressed that Gaza’s situation is critical, with collapsed health services and severe shortages of basic needs, warning that continued restrictions will deepen civilian suffering after months of devastating war.
Breaking | The Government Media Office in Gaza said that Israel has allowed the entry of only 24% of the agreed-upon aid and commercial trucks per day under the ceasefire agreement, continuing to deliberately restrict vital energy supplies needed to operate hospitals, bakeries, and essential services.
It strongly condemned Israel’s obstruction of humanitarian and commercial aid, holding it fully responsible for the worsening humanitarian catastrophe affecting over 2.4 million people in Gaza.
The office called on the U.S. president, mediators, and guarantor states to take immediate action to compel Israel to uphold its commitments, particularly ensuring the unrestricted entry of humanitarian and relief aid to ease the suffering of the Palestinian population.
