Why I think Skizz is probably the best member to join Hermitcraft
During my time as a Hermitcraft fans, I always looked at each Hermit as Minecraft God of sorts.
Every Hermit is absolutely amazing in one thing or the other, whether that would be building, redstone, terraforming, out-of-this-world creativity..etc
This always made me see them as celebrities, people I can never relate to but I'm a big fan of their skills.
Skizz...Skizz is not amazing in anything, Skizz is normal, average, and I mean this in the best way possible, Skizz is very relatable, he just like like all of us, and having him in Hermitcraft makes everyone else feel that you can be in Hermitcarft, I mean we won't but it's good to have that feeling.
For the first time, I'm seeing Hermits differently, just as normal people having fun, just like friends, I don't watch Hermitcraft that much, I don't even play Minecraft as I used to anymore, but I literally had dreams just playing with the Hermits in a lan-party like the old days.
Yes, I think this feeling is also coming from the change in style they have this season but I think the majority of this feeling is coming from finding Skizz being so relatable.
Skizz is not a great Minecrafter, Skizz is normal, which makes him the most unique and best thing that happened to me as Hermitcraft fan.
If Skizz ever reads this, please know that we don't need you to be great or similar to other Hermits in any way or skill, we need you to stay as genuine as you are. at least I do.

Joel's greatest crime...so far
As people are becoming more and more aware of how poorly Joel treats his audience. As awful as these acts are they are overshadowing the worst thing he's done.
As we all know this season Iskall has been to be quite honest nothing short of a Saint. From giving beef the house he worked so hard on designing and building, to setting up an alarm system to keep his neighborghs safe as well as helping decorate the from of rens base with perry the platypus. I could go on for ever with the amount of selfless acts iskall has done already this season.
Yet when iskall kindly invited Joel over to see his base he didn't hesitate to verbally abuse iskall. He did this by saying the 85 on Iskalls storage area looked like a 35...I was quite frankly shook. I saw Joel video not long after it came out and I'm still trying to process such an attack.
My thoughts are with iskall in this time and I hope the fanbose will rally behind him.

The r/Hermitcraft Beacon 2024-02-27: We're back!
Welcome to the r/Hermitcraft Beacon, vol 6, no 8. In the spirit of new beginnings, we're dusting off the typewriter and bringing back our weekly newsletter!
In case you're unfamiliar with it, the Beacon is indeed a newsletter produced by the mod team, in which we provide community updates and essential information regarding the Hermits' antics both on and off the server. These include upcoming events that the Hermits are featured in, milestones and anniversaries, fan projects, top memes and more. We found ourselves struggling to keep publishing it toward the end of 2022, but we've read [the feedback we received](https://www.reddit.com/r/HermitCraft/comments/1400ndh/request_for_feedback_the_beacon_newsletter/) and we're hoping that with a few changes to the way we produce it, and some new team members onboard, we can bring it back and keep the community up-to-date once more. So strap yourselves in, because we've got quite a lot to share!

* **Moderator Applications are now closed.** A massive thank you to everyone who applied! If you're selected to join the team, you can expect to receive a message from us via Modmail by the end of March.
* **The /r/HermitCraft Economy Tracking Project is back!** Another project returning with the new season, the Economy Tracking Project has just kicked off. The project is dedicated to logging all on-screen transactions made by the hermits, in an effort to determine who is truly the richest hermit (oh who am I kidding of course it's Mumbo). * **The Interaction Tracking Project!** Starting this season, this project has been recording all the interactions between the Hermits. In particular, we've recently found ourselves removing posts for nondescriptive titles, unmasked spoilers from videos less than 24 hours old (*a list of such videos can be found in the pinned comment of the latest Beacon*), and discussing [Topics to Avoid](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hermitcraft/wiki/topics_to_avoid). Following these rules help the subreddit to be a welcoming and engaging place for everyone to participate in. If you notice any posts on the subreddit that aren't following our rules, you can help us by reporting them.
* **Beacon changes.** Those of you who have read previous editions of the Beacon may recall that we used to have a Did You Know section, dedicated to providing the community with some obscure Hermitcraft facts and trivia. However, one of the reasons we struggled to keep publishing the Beacon was because we found ourselves straining to think of good ideas for it. Thus, we have decided that instead of making it a weekly requirement, we'll publish it on a less frequent basis, and spend more time brainstorming and writing them. That way we'll be able to bring you far more interesting and relevant reads. Keep an eye out for other changes and additions to the Beacon in the next few weeks!
* **And to finish with flair(s)...** We've recently unretired both the Demise and Team Reapers flairs. However, with Demise having reached its end they won't be around for much longer, so if you want them now's the time! And as an extra note, all Season 9 flairs have now been retired.

I love hermit permits
It is so cool seeing everyone have to build unique farms this season. I am seeing farms I’ve never seen built before, seeing hermits who usually don’t build farms build them, seeing hermits who usually do build farms make really cool, overly engineered farms. It’s not repetitive because no one has the same permits and it’s just so cool to see it all come together

Have hermits not met Etho in real life?
I was watching SmallishBean's newest video and the conversation between him, Scar, and Etho seemed to suggest that none of them know what Etho looks like. Does this mean they've never met him in real life or seen his face? Is that true? It would blow my mind if they've worked with him for as long as they have and have no clue what he looks like. They seem to not even know where he lives in Canada.
Edit: Since this keeps coming up, I think being anonymous and not revealed to fans is normal but with people who are essentially your coworkers, it just blows my mind.

I just realized something about selling beehives.
Keralis has the permit to sell beehives. Beehives are often sold with the bees still inside of them, so the customer can farm their own bees.
If Scar actually gets a permit to sell all of the mobs (y'know, sometime within the next decade...), would Keralis be able to sell bees through beehives?
I think the permit office is gonna have to resolve this one, lol.

I've been watching hermitcraft since... before Grian I think. I think it was with mumbo and X that I really got into the series. And all the while and ever since online, I've seen people geek out about Etho.
Please tell me where to start with him. I'm not about to dis anyone's favorite character, but I would like to know what your favorite moments of him are. Or where I could watch his best stuff. I'm looking for recommendations because I want to understand the hype.
