Positives from Club world cup
As the dust is settled in this subreddit😅, let's look at some positives.
We have a fatigued squad. Remember Haaland, Doku, Cherki, Reijnders, Dias and Silva all played nations league before this tournament.
Our attacking patterns have improved a lot from last season where we struggled to even create any chances.
Our XG has also improved significantly. We were scraping wins with 1xg towards the end of last season. Now we are comfortably getting more than 3XG.
Our set pieces have also improved.
New signings(Reijnders, Cherki and Ait Nouri are all energetic and class)
Foden and Rodri are slowly getting back to their best.
Nunes is getting good at being a proper RB.
Doku is also very promising this season
Two negatives I see are:
We let opposition score stupid goals. There are two solutions here:
Either Harden the defense by buying proven defenders.
Have a world class shot stopper who can save some odd goal in very tight games (Remember we drop points in most games by just 1 goal. If we have a shot stopper who can save just one such goal then we can compromise our defensive issues and harden our attacking).
Future of NicoG, Khusanov and Reis. NicoG and Khusanov will be starters at any other club in the league. If we keep on benching them like this and not even giving them sub time they will leave the club.
