Gold slimes are too rare (in my game)

I've played Slime Rancher 2 for over 80 hours now and I haven't seen a single gold slime, haven't even heard the sound effect (looked them up on videos to see what I'm doing wrong). I've broken every stone pot I've come across looking for them, and haven't seen any just running around the game world. I've seen a TON of lucky slimes. I get they are supposed to be rare, but are they supposed to really be _that_ rare?

slime rancher 2 layout

i like collecting regular slimes and i don't like keeping largos. currently i just don't have enough room for hyper slimes with my current layout and was wondering if there were any ways i can optimize it to fit them in. i give every slime their favorite food and keep them inthe same section as their food source. all of my coops are doubled up. i only have one empty space in the cave area, and a silo space in the main area. my ringtails, hunters, and sabers all eat from the same coop as well. is there any way i can rearrange this to fit hyper slimes that can be automated with drones?

Rush Mode Is Pain Incarnate, But Surprisingly Fun! What's Your Experience with Rush Mode?

When I initially 100%ed the game (Switch version), every achievement came naturally through progression (except the tarr ones because my main file was in Casual Mode lol), but Rush felt different. It was BRUTAL. I remember so many failed runs, either from incompetence, poor planning, or just plain old bad luck. When I finally finished a run by shattering the 75K requirement with over 100K Newbucks, I was ecstatic!

Now about a week ago I reset my achievements, so I could do it ALL over again. Just now I went to try Rush mode again, not thinking of seriously running it right now, only to get into a real good groove. My Switch died before I could finish the run, but I have about 8 minutes remaining on the timer and I have gotten every request. So it's safe to say this run is in the bag! 1st try on the new save!

But what do you all think of Rush mode? What are some funny, tense, or epic moments you'd like to share about your own runs?

Drone issues

Trying to get my drones to sell plorts but It keeps telling me they can only operate in one expansion but everything they need is in the same expansion as them already I’m just trying to get them to sell the plorts in my silo my best bet is they are trying to do something with the silo in my cave expansion even though they are in the starting one

Just bought a PS5 and the first thing I did was get slime rancher. 20 minutes in I found this thing, Slimepedia says it does stuff to chickens so I stuck it in the coop.

where to find new update slimes?

I don't know where to find sloomber slimes, can some1 help??? I've been all around the Gray lab, up and down, end to end, but I cannot find a single one! only reason I know of them is because I found a port statue of one. are they time based like phosphors? their name sounds like they might only spawn at night..

So I’ve been playing through SL2 for the first time on my PS5 and I refuse to look at the trophies because I don’t want any game events spoiled but I’m curious if there are trophies for collecting all the blueprints for the fabricator? If anyone could let me know it would be greatly appreciated

Be honest, what are your thoughts on sr2? Is it good?

I been a fan of the first game since 2016 when I first saw a Hungarian streamer play it, and I got really addicted to watching their vods. Despite that, I only got around to playing it last year (since I didn't had a good pc prior to that). And I quickly got addicted to it again. So naturally, I was intrigued about getting the second game (when it goes on sale ofc) however I heard a lot of mixed reviews. I would like to know more people's opinion

The Loss of my Dear Grumpy Egg

I know this might sound silly, but I'm actually really genuinely upset about this. I'm just kind of in shock right now and really sad about this apparent bug fix. 

So basically what happened was, my friend and I were playing Slime Rancher 2 (I was playing my save game and she was watching me), and we found a yolky slime out somewhere. This was nothing particularly special at first as I had caught lots of yolky slimes before that, so I just scooped him up and took him home to my other yolkies as normal. I put him in their corral - I had about 5 total at that point I think, maybe 6 - and I don't remember if it was immediately or later when I was checking on them, but this specific yolky was making a really funny face I had never seen them make before, like an agitated face, closed eyes but angled down rather than up. But the thing about Sunny (that's what I named him) is that he wasn't just sometimes making that face, his face was stuck like that. He never opened his eyes, not when I sucked him into my vac pack or shot him out into a wall or anything. We called him our grumpy egg, and he was the most perfect creature in the whole world. I figured it was just a glitch and might be resolved when I rebooted the game or something, but for weeks, Sunny stayed the same. My friend and I grew really attached to him because of him unique grumpiness that no other yolky had, and it was just adorable seeing a grumpy egg in a pile of hen hens and roosteros. He brought me so much joy, seeing his grumpy little face every time I opened up the game. 

Today my friend asked me if I had a screenshot of Sunny because she thought he would make a funny/cute Spotify playlist cover photo. I checked my screenshots and to my surprise it turned out I had never taken a screenshot of him before. It had been a while since I had played the game, so I opened it up and went to go take a screenshot of Sunny now. When I saw him in his chicken coop, he was normal Sunny, making his grumpy face like always. I sucked him up and brought him to a more open area so I could get a better picture of him. I shot him out and... His eyes were open. He wasn't grumpy anymore. I was immediately surprised and confused. I tried sucking him back up and shooting him out again repeatedly, but he wouldn't make the grumpy face again, not even for a second. I was stunned and honestly heartbroken at the sight of the Sunny I came to love being gone. 

I know this probably seems way too overdramatic, and I'm sure you have more important things to worry about, but this is genuinely how I feel right now. You see, I'm autistic, and part of that for me is extreme distress at even just small changes if I'm not prepared ahead of time, and also I tend to feel very strongly, empathizing with and personifying inanimate objects such as stuffed animals or creatures in video games. So this shock really hurt me and I actually feel like a beloved pet just died or something, I'm feeling genuine grief over Sunny. It's made worse by the fact that I don't have any pictures of him, and now I never will. I really feel like crying and like I might have a meltdown. To most people this probably sounds really stupid, but this is something many autistic people experience in different ways, and I hate that I have this extreme of emotions to something so seemingly pointless. But he really meant something to me. I know he's not real and it doesn't really matter, but it's still painful. 

I just needed to vent about this and get it all out. i feel like I'm writing this as a tribute to honour Sunny and his memory. This is not satirical, and please be kind in the comments, this is really hard for me. I know it's not healthy to be attached to a virtual egg creature, but I can't help how I feel and what I get attached to, he really meant a lot to me. He was my family in this game, and I'm really going to miss him.

Also if you're wondering, I named him Sunny ironically because he looked grumpy and because it's a type of egg. So it was just a cute, funny, silly name for a silly,

 Moondew Nectar is a viable food source due to drones

I thought I would make a post about this despite usually being a lurker on reddit rather than an active poster as I hadn't seen anything about this. Some have probably already noticed this if they have tried it, but drones can farm moondew nectar effectively. I have only one drone set up by the big Starlight Strand tree and yet it keeps up my moondew for my Hunter/Flutter largos filled up even better than my coops keep up chicken supplies. I had originally made these largos since I would get a few roostros from my coops, but I decided to try moondew nectar with a drone and now I don't think these largos are ever going to go hungry.

The drone seems to farm moondew nectar at all times of the day the same way it collects other resources: based off possible spawns. Where I put mine seems to consistently collect about 2 to 4 moondew nectar with each pass as well.

If you want to ranch flutters on their own or make largos and only feed them moondew nectar then setting up a drone is probably a good idea. I just wanted to make a post since I hadn't seen talk about this.

Also, I hope the guide/tip flair is the correct flair for this information.

SO UNLUCKY!!! Gold Slime stuff.

I just was playing slime rancher and found a gilded ginger. I was like yay next time I find a gold slime I am ready. Anyway I found a gold slime and fed it the ginger but it dissapeared before i got any plorts. I was so upset because I didn't even keep the gilded ginger. I didn't even record the last thirty seconds in time so now I have no proof.
