How to climb out of plat
Ive started playing apex again recently and managed to climb to my highest rank (ever) of plat and im still climbing. It feels a lot slower than it was when i was in gold and i was wondering what are the main things i should be focusing on in my games to climb faster.
I kinda feel like you have to take every fight because without it you gain like 50-75 elo a game, but when i do its always a coinflip whether i win or lose.
Any tips?

I want to master one character which one should I choose?
Any character is fine.
Please help me decide which character I should use.
Just for reference, Mad Maggie has the most kills, but my favorite character is probably Loba. Lately, Axle has become one of my favorites, too.

Lifeline mains, which perks do you choose?
Longtime Lifeline main here. I think she's in desperate need for new perks, and Im curious what everyone chooses right now.

Before her rework, she had great perks (and the annoying overpowered Self Revive) but her base kit was falling behind.

Since her rework, her base kit feels great, but her perks are really underwhelming compared to recent legend buffs.

For the Blue perk, I take the extra glide time. I feel like it rarely helps, but stacking another battery feels irrelevant with Bottomless and Overflow Amps.

For the Purple perk, I always take the tactical cooldown reduction. If I take the increased tactical range, I often find myself needing the drone when it's on cooldown.

The Game Feels Like Titanfall
So I just wanted to mention this cause my brother and I have been talking about it a lot. With Axle in the game and with a lot of the movement buffs going on, the game feels more and more like a match of Titanfall 2 where standing still is punished and constant movement is rewarded. Like back in the day, the game strategy was very simple: land, fight a little, take positioning, defend positioning, win the game. Now, with positioning being able to be overwhelmed so easily, it feels a lot more like positioning is a light advantage sometimes. Like you still are better off with it, but the game feels so much easier if you just keep moving and push using blitzkrieg strategies. Like I run Ballistic, my brother runs Path, and our third is either Axel or Lifeline, and when I tell you we run through people like butter when we just go as fast as possible, loot in like 2 seconds, and keep running. But when we actually take our time and play methodically, it feels like we get aped by people who play fast and seize the momentum by virtue of the way they push. I am not really complaining about this as I like both styles of playing; I just wanted to know what others think. Like I have started playing a little more Titanfall 2 and running Gauntlet and a few matches just to warm up for Apex, and I have found that it helps tremendously with hitting people going Mach 1 lol.

Why spend so much time looting before the first fight?
I swear people are just afraid of fighting now and will spend the first half of the match looting. They’ll loot the entire drop zone we dropped at and then I’ll say let’s attack over here and they’ll just keep looting other spots and not follow me to attack. I honestly get sick of it and just attack on my own or my teammate will attack with me. If we lose the fight, my teammate will still be looting when we both die.
If it was possible, I’d like to just grab two decent guns and fight as soon as possible. But my teammates are never down for that. Seems like everyone is just scared to fight and wants gold mags and purple armor before they have their first fight
I just had a loba and wattson loot the entire poi for ten minutes and when a team came through, they ran away instead of fighting and looted another poi instead

Did you guys know controlling "tempo" is a real skill in this game?
From master to diamond, everyone has a biiig tempo problem in this game. Some players one seem to be having a hard time grasping the concept of when and where to fight. Sometimes, they slow down the tempo when they need to ram it and sometimes it's the opposite: They will just be fast for the sake of being fast.
I noticed people are playing like they are playing pubg, or old battle royale design: Land, find loot, and stay in the ring, fight if necessary and stay there.
In OLD battle royale games, that was the gameplay loop. However, in Apex, it is changed. With arsenals added to POI's you are now ready much faster. Good players always trying to eliminate other players because that what gives them snowball.
I am not saying you should leave your POI 20 second mark, but you DON'T need a 4 stack batteries full purple dream loadout to leave your POI. You don't need to loot it to the bone. No you don't need that Hemlok. Flatline does just fine. The game is faster now. If you move, you move. If you don't, you will stay around congested areas and die.
Opposite is also true: I know you wanna push but don't leave your teammate after 10 seconds. You might've found your dream loadout in a small hut, purple attachments and everything with overflow heal but I am butt naked with a single p2020 trying to hit the heavy arsenal man. While you are full stimmed gas geben running away I just finished looting and now we have a 100 meter distance between us. That means you are toast before I even got to support you.
Another thing:
"I just got ressed, let me loot! - let me use the arsenal!" No, you shouldn't. We need to migrate away from this shiny warcry beacon because now everyone and their uncle from Timbuktu is coming to hunt our team because they know you don't have resources to fight. If we cannot stand our ground and fight, you shouldn't use that arsenal. We need to be on move, to a safer spot.
The opposite is also true. "I just ressed my teammate, I know he has a dogsh*t ironsight hemlok, let me shoot this guy with my r301 from 999999999 meters to let them know about our position when we surely can't push them and surely cannot do anything to deny their push!" is just a garbage mindset. You need to allow your teammates to breathe.

Why is fuses ult now just terrible in 99% of situations?
It feels practically useless if you use it on a team that isn't just bunched up, it's such an insanely situational ultimate, was playing a 1v2 in endgame and I directly hit the revenant with it. Keep in mind this is a literal bomb filled with fire and explosives shot out of a mortar directly into an enemy player. And it hits for a whopping 21 shield damage. One shield cell. One shield cell of damage for an ultimate ability. They then proceed to run into the building consequence free and shred me to pieces. Did I do something wrong or is this fuses ult?

Dear devs: I'd love a game mode where it's only TDM 24/7 for warm up
TDM is my fave mode for warm up but it's sandwiched between Control and Gun Game (my least favorite mode tbh)
Id love a TDM only mode that's 24/7
Or, give us servers to host custom games so people can just make their own custom servers that's aim practice only
