My sadness cannot be overstated
I’ve been going through the audiobooks for the series while driving to and from work (I live an hour away from when I work), and also while I have some downtime at work and I have gotten to a point where I feel beyond sad due to the loss of what has to be the most captivating character in the entire series. From the moment he showed up, I have been absolutely enthralled by him. He smelted my heart. He was by far my favorite character and I feel like every time he has been mentioned afterwards, my heart breaks more and more. I just wanted to make this post to call attention to this very underrated character and give tribute to him because he deserves it.
Rest in peace, Roomba. You will be missed by me, and I’m sure many others. You were a real one.

Question about the books.
I know there are already a lot of "should I read the books" or "are the book and the anime same" questions out there but my question is a bit different, I add my story.
I watched monogatari around 1.5 years ago and it immediately became my favourite anime. But then I realized that the books included side stories that the anime didn't.
So I started reading the books. While reading Kabukimonogatari, I got hospitalized and I just got well enough to get back to my daily life.
Now, though, since I left the book halfway through, I can't continue where I left off. And I know myself, I won't read it from the beginning.
However, I realized that the books and the anime wasn't THAT different. So, my question is this: if I watch the anime again and only read the side stories in the order of the book's release order, would I miss something?
Please include the question "Are the books really different from the anime" since I couldn't see any BIG difference.
