A fun detail about "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"
As you know, there comes a point where Johnny asks V who they want to call for help in storming Arasaka at the end of the game. If, instead of making a decision, V sits indecisive for a few minutes Johnny suggests they could do it "solo," go out in a blaze of glory without dragging any more friends down with them. This suicide mission, if chosen, is called "(Don't Fear) The Reaper)".
The detail I noticed in my latest playthrough is that V has to wait approximately 5 minutes before Johnny makes his suggestion. And you know what song just so happens to be approximately 5 minutes long? Yeah, it's the Blue Oyster Cult classic for which the mission is named.
The moment Johnny asks who you want to call, hit play on the song and it'll be fading out as Johnny speaks up about the suicide mission. I did this on my latest playthrough and it was incredible. Aside from being a great song, it's a moody way to sit back and reflect on the journey so far, and the final moments to come.

First Witcher 3 base, then the 4th-wall-breaking-Geralt in the DLC, and now THIS?? You have no idea the amount nostalgia and pain I felt looking at Reed's defeated face as he walks away from me at the end and they're putting So Mi in the helicopter.. it is so over bros :( My life will never be the same again.
In the end I lost EVERYTHING. My friends, my ripperdoc (OG Vik just ain't there anymore man), my fukcing CHROME - the one thing that tied me back to Jackie and our crazy heists was the feeling of invulnerability tier 5++ gear gave me. It is GONE. Getting jumped by randos on the street?? Wtf man. At least my V has 4 million eddies, a Caliburn and apartments all over night city to ease into retirement. After 110 hours, this game fucking destroyed me.
Are there any other endings that are even happy endings? :(

Is there any Watsonian explanation on why Dex hires a V with a nomad background?
So I just want to try and understand something here.
Imo a V with a nomad background doesn't look like the type of person you want to hire for a major heist like Konpeki Plaza Granted they have built a reputation since coming to the city, and they are experienced in hijacking vehicles and convoys, but compared to a V with a street kid or corpo background they look pretty green by comparison.
So is there any Watsonian explanation given on why Dex would want to hire a V with a nomad background for the Konpeki Plaza heist? Or is it just plot armor?

110 hours in with this playthrough. Finished Phantom Liberty for the first time. Been playing the game since launch and it's only gotten better. Nothing left but to go to Embers. Got a city to burn.

What's stopping humanity from destroying the rogue AIs beyond the black wall?
So, from my understanding, anything beyond the blackwall is eldritch levels of horror. AIs beyond our human comprehension that if released would cause a cataclysmic collapse of society.
They are held at bay by the blackwall which is an AI itself, the blackwall isn't keeping the other AIs in, it's keeping them out.
Humanity fears that the blackwall will one day fail or turn rogue itself, I think the question isn't even "if" but "when"
So we come back to my question, if they are all very aware of the danger those AIs represent, what's stopping them from destroying them?
And I'm not talking about going in like we do in the game to meet ALT, but to destroy the source they originate from.
If I understand this correctly, the new net is what's remaining of the old net, whatever is beyond the blackwall is much larger than what we have access to
But that also means that the old net was once...
Just the net.
So we should know where the servers are, where everything was emitting from, where everything is located since we once had access to it
I mean, the net isn't a second magical plane of existence existing on it's own. It needs a source to exist, a server, computer, whatever it might be
So what is stopping big corpos from raiding those places and blowing up everything?
They KNOW humanity will be fucked if they don't do anything so this should be priority number one
From what I've read the rogue AIs managed to escape on a much smaller scale in Hong Kong which completely destroyed it and it is now a dead city
Why is nothing being done about it?
Is the location of the servers unknown?
Are they guarded by terminator like machines controlled by the AIs?
Is it underground? Why not nuke the whole thing?
