Would it surprise you if I said Southampton looked the better side for the first 30 minutes? Cause they did!
Dibling (no I did not misspell Dribbling) made Dalot look like a rookie, getting past him at every occasion.
Archer missed a clean header.
It took Zirkzee 15 minutes to have his first touch in the game. But then he started to get more involved specially in the buildup, until he stretched his foot to try and poke a low cross into the net but Ramsdale saved.
In one of Dibling's trips through Dalot and beyond, Dalot got frustrated and tackled him, Penalty, Archer stood for ages before the referee gave the signal to shoot, Missed! Onana saved! Bad Pen!
The course of the match changed drastically, 2 goals in 6 minutes for United, and both came from a corner setup, just not from the corner itself.
The corner is played, cleared, 2nd ball goes to United, Southampton cannot reorganize themselves, Goal!
De Ligt scored one with a header, Rashford scored the other with a curled medium height shot.
2nd half was almost all United, Zirkzee again was really good at buildup, had a couple of chances that were saved (or blocked).
Just before the final whistle, Garnacho scored to reward his patient owners.

# Liverpool vs Nottingham

Slott started an unchanged side despite rumours of benching Diaz.
Nuno started Moreno on the left and benched N.Williams in front of his former club. Moreno had a great match!
Nothing seemed to work for Liverpool, loose balls from Mo, missed passes from Trent, Jota shot a ball with his thigh missing a good chance.
Diaz looked lively and almost broke the deadlock, a ball that was no one's, everybody thought it was going for a goalkick, he ran, stole it and found himself one on one with the gk with good options on his right, but instead of handing a tap in to a colleague, he shot himself and hit the near post.
Other than that, a match to forget from Liverpool.
One very interesting (and frustrating) fact, McAllister, Jota and Diaz were subbed off in the same substitution, yet Jota left the pitch first 59:52, 1 point, Diaz left last of the 3 past the 60 min mark, 3 points.
Nottingham's goal came from a curled shot from the left (Hudson Odoi of course). BTW it looked saveable!
Robertson and Trent shared the corners.
Nothing more to be said.

# Aston Villa vs Everton:

Aston Villa started this match with an unchanged side.
I said that before and am saying it again, Rogers does not look like a great FPL asset, he drives forward then either shoots at the goalkeeper, gets tackled or gives a not perfect pass, he might (only might) get an assist or a deflected goal every 5 or 6 matches. The useless eye test suggests he is a good 8th attacker in your team that is sometimes playable and even in the playable matches like this one, odds are he will probably blank. (Forget this whole narrative if he takes the next penalty)
McNeil scored the first goal after dispossessing his former teammate Onana, and then shot a low one past the hands of Martinez.
Then he assisted the 2nd one from a set piece, perfect delivery that DCL happily utilized and scored.
Despite the 2 goals, the villa defense was not that bad on the sides. Bogarde looked better, shame for him that both Matty Cash and Diego Carlos are back.
Digne looked lively, he always looks lively, he deserved the assist with a beautiful cross that Watkins happily headed home.
Calvert Lewin almost made it 3 afterwards as he was one on one with Martinez but he was too slow to decide what to do so Konsa cleared it.
Watkins then scored the second from a loose ball that reached him. ALL LEVEL!
Watkins looked way better than previous matches, yet I forget his 2 goals when Duran scored a SCREAMER from nomansland in the top corner. And it was the winner! This guy is getting starts very soon.

City failed to score home or away against Arsenal last season. Are you going to captain Haaland anyway?
The goalless draw at the Etihad in March was a tedious affair with the Norwegian barely getting a sniff.
Given that Arsenal have only conceded at Tottenham in their 10 away PL games in 2024, surely it would be a smart move to give the armband to someone else this weekend.
