Ubisoft. Please stop making me sign in constantly.
No one else does this, at least not as often. I have a couple gaming pcs, as do many with the popularity of handheld gaming pcs. When I go to play assassin's creed, without fail I have to log back in. Multiple times a day. And that box that says check me to stay logged in is like salt on a cut. Come on ubisolft, do better. This is an old problem too, years this has made me boil. But when you have to log in with a screen keyboard multiple times a day, I'm over it. Moving on to avowed until you fix.

What's a game that has aged both extremely well, and extremely poorly?
I was playing Tony Hawk's Underground 2 yesterday, and parts of it are as good as they ever were. The skating is still buttery smooth, and the soundtrack might be the best collection of licensed songs in the series. And then there's the story, which heavily features Jackass-style antics and Bam Margera. I didn't like Bam Margera back when he was still cool, and he's now a 50 year old man still acting like a teenage idiot.

If you ever wondered: Shotguns are never well-balanced in games because their downsides are nearly impossible to "gamify".
Inspired by BattleBit devs saying why they dont add shotguns to their Battlefield game.
They are always either a Godlike One Shot Kills or they are too slow and weak to compare with other guns. They either hit at any range or have the range of a knife.
The problem is: shotguns are fantastic weapons when fired, but have MASSIVE downsides which are NEVER shown in games:
-HUGE AMMO. Each shell is massive compared to rifle bullet, taking a lot of space in your pockets. You can make it take more space in inventory, but in game combat it makes not much difference.
-PROBLEMATIC RELOAD AND OPERSTION. In game: press R, done. In life, try to load 8 massive objects into a tiny hole in your gun when you're stressed and under fire and you'll see why shotguns are not used in war.
-MAG SHOTGUNS TEND TO JAM. If a shotgun uses magazines, then big ammo=prone to jamming. Not many games use jamming of guns anyway. Only few mag-fed ahotguns are relianble and yet they tend to be very heavy.
-CAN'T PIERCE OBSTACLES. Rifles are better for war because enemy is often behind cover which rifles can pierce. Your game would need to rely heavily on piercing obstacles to make shotguns downside (low pierce) a true downside.
-MEDIUM RANGE. Most games are played up to medium range, where shotguns are deadly anyway. Rifles are used irl more often because in war you often have to make long range shots. Except Battlefield maybe, that's not a case in games.
-COLATERAL DAMAGE. Okay, low pierce, short range, so maybe it's great for police force around hostages and civilians? Nope. Police/swat uses pistols and submachineguns over shotguns - pistol ammo is accurate and dont pierce walls, for lower chance of hitting civilians too. Shotguns though tend to kill the target and everyone next to them which is a no-no in civilian / hostage scenarios (except war but well, obstacles). It's almost never a problem in games.
So in both scenarios (police and war) other tools are much more efficient and overall better. You'd have to design a game "around shotguns and their quirks" to make them balanced compared to other guns.

I'll say it: "Few fine-tuned guns" is much better than "a milion randomly generated guns"
I'm a guy who grew up on early 2000 games. I will always remember the gameplay of AWP in Counter Strike, the spammy Berettas in Max Payne 1, or the king of all guns: Flak Cannon in Unreal Tournament '99.
In some modern shooters the emphasis is on number of guns (like destiny or borderlands) which just feels... Meh. No gun feels "meaningful", which makes the guns much less interesting, I think?
That's why I was so happy to see the " Fine-Tuned but Few" guns in Space Marine 2. Yay for chainsword and Heavy Bolter!
