Look in your eyes, Greatness Article

Next time you take a walk on the street, look at the boards, statues, and street names.

They look down upon you.

Screaming that we have done something extraordinary, you are yet to be there.

Some people accept it or don't even care to think about it.

The idea of extraordinary is a far fetch.

There are few who question and introspect.

It might be because of the contribution those people have made to society, that they are celebrated in the middle of the square.

A display of the glory of their body of work.

Hopefully, it inspires the people passing by to contribute to the society.

But mostly to create a sense that no one has achieved what they have.

Greatness.

Discussion This is your sign to dopamine detox

Dopamine detoxes can be difficult to convince yourself to try, but it’s much more simple than you may think. And trust me, it’s probably one of my favorite ways to bring clarity, peace, and wellbeing in my life. You’ll come out feeling like a new person.

So here’s what I recommend as a first detox: block out two days that are relatively stress free (could be a weekend, or even just a few days where work is light). Wake up without your phone, no TV, no music. Just listen to your thoughts, and be aware of your surroundings, and have a quiet morning.

During the day, go about your day normally, but avoid overstimulation. Overstimulation comes in many forms: junk food, being in busy places, and social media. Be wary of what you eat and where you decide to spend your time. If you need help avoiding social media, try using one of those screen time apps like Superhappy to disincentivize opening your apps.

Most importantly, avoiding overstimulation doesn’t mean being bored all day. A good first dopamine detox is one planned with relaxing self care activities like meditating, a nice walk with a good friend, reading, and more.

After two days, your dopamine baseline should be reset! Feel free to carry this into the rest of your week, or don’t! Regardless, you should notice that you are more energized and happy, and best of all that you find joy out of the little things more often. By doing this detox, you’re investing in yourself. So please, take this as your sign to try it out :)

How to Survive in a World of Multitasking and Stay Sane? tool

Nowadays, more people find themselves needing to juggle multiple jobs or balance their professional and personal lives. When tasks are varied and unrelated, maintaining focus and productivity becomes a real challenge. To manage this, follow these simple rules:

1. Planning and Prioritization: Create a schedule that covers all your tasks and commitments. Set priorities for each task using the Eisenhower Matrix (urgent/important tasks). It’s essential not to mix tasks: allocate specific time slots for each, and tackle demanding and important tasks first.
2. Setting Boundaries: Clearly define boundaries between work and rest, as well as between different work tasks. Separate tasks by category to avoid lumping everything together and losing focus. This is especially crucial if you frequently switch between projects. Don’t hesitate to say “no” to tasks that don’t align with your goals.
3. Regular Breaks and the Pomodoro Technique: Work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break. After four cycles, plan a longer break (15-30 minutes). This approach helps maintain productivity and prevents burnout.
4. Taking Care of Your Mental and Physical Health: Ensure you have time for physical activity, quality sleep, and a balanced diet. Regular walks or short breaks outside can help maintain balance. Don’t forget to plan full days off or vacations to recharge. Consider learning the basics of meditation — it’s a proven way to combat stress and anxiety.

text Feeling very low and I am tired

I was doing fine until I saw a pic of my 12 yrs ex with his wife with our mutual friends. I just felt used and taken advantage for 12 years. Anyways, just been feeling low since that coz I really loved him and gave him my best.
I also got laid off recently and keep getting rejection emails. I know the market isn’t so good.
I don’t wanna feel this way. I wanna get out of this mess. I do go to gym everyday. I am just struggling today. I hate myself for loving him so much. I am also making effort to go on dates. I am so exhausted.

discussion People who have won over their Insecurities...

I am a 19M and although my parents consider me mildly successful with me being in prestigious college of my country, I say otherwise. I am my own worst enemy. I have tons of insecurities including over my face, skin and social skills mainly. I was bullied for my skin color multiple times in school and even in college.

These past events have had an impact on my overall confidence and self-esteem. People online always say that looks don't matter, you must own your insecurities, but the main thing is... how? I didn't had insecurities, it was taught to me from external world, that you're ugly or worthless. And now that my internal image of myself is blown, how can I recover it to some baseline level? Confidence and self-esteem seem to build when you get appreciation from external crowd. However I am stuck in a vicious cycle of perpetual self-hate which might drive good people away and so on. I really need some way to get over this because I know I cant run this cycle forever and have a sane mind.

Text I'm begging you, stop wasting your life - it's your future self talking

Hey, it's me... well, it's you from the future. And I know you're on Reddit right now, which is exactly why I'm posting this here. I'm pleading with you-seriously, stop wasting your life.

I know what you're thinking right now. "It's just a few hours scrolling on Reddit", "Just one more game" or "I'll start focusing tomorrow." But those "just one more" moments? They add up. And from where I’m standing, those little distractions are costing you something big: ...Time.

Time you'll never get back.

I get it, life gets overwhelming, and it's easy to fall into bad habits. Whether it's gaming until 3 AM, scrolling on social media, binging Netflix, or worse-getting caught up in drinking or smoking. At first, it's just a way to unwind. Then, before you realize it, you're trapped in a loop. I’m here to tell you, from your future, you don't want to end up here.

# Here's what you're missing:

Your health: You don't feel it now, but the late nights, poor eating habits, and ignoring your mental health will catch up to you. Trust me, future-you is dealing with it. Small changes today-getting more sleep, hitting the gym, taking a walk, even just drinking more water-will make a huge difference in the long run.

Your relationships: Remember your family? Your friends? The people who actually care about you? The ones you keep meaning to call or spend time with but keep pushing off because you're "too busy"? They miss you. And honestly, those bonds are going to mean everything later. Don’t wait until it’s too late to reconnect.

Your goals and dreams: You've got so many things you want to do, but right now, they're collecting dust. Time's slipping away while you’re stuck in the same cycle every day. Pick something, anything, and make a small step towards it. You don’t have to change the world overnight, but start. Future-you will thank you for it.

Joy and Balance: Life isn't just about grinding. Remember to live. Enjoy the little things, the moments that make you smile, the hobbies you've been meaning to try. This life is all you’ve got-don't waste it just chasing empty distractions. You're better than that.

# There's no perfect moment to start, the perfect moment is NOW.

Stop telling yourself you’ll wait for the "right" time to get started. I'm telling you from the future:
there is no perfect moment. The longer you wait, the harder it gets. The opportunities you're thinking of today? They might not even exist tomorrow.

Future-you has it tougher than you think. The longer you wait to start something meaningful, the further you fall behind. So stop waiting for tomorrow, next week, or some fantasy scenario where everything magically aligns. You have what you need right now. Start small, take one step-anything to get going.

# What you need to do (like, right now):

Break the cycle: Just cut one bad habit, even for a day. Spend less time glued to your screen or doing things that pull you away from what matters.

Focus on your health: Go for a run, stretch, eat something that fuels your body, or just take a breather to clear your head. Trust me, future-you is paying the price for ignoring it right now.

Reach out: Call your family. Message a friend. It doesn’t take long, and those connections? They're going to be what you value most later on. Don't lose them.

Remember, I'm you. I'm literally living with the consequences of your choices. Every decision you make today shapes the future I have to live in. Don't make me regret the path you're on right now.

This is your wake-up call. You don't have to be perfect, but you must start living with intention.
Time is the most valuable thing you have-don't waste it.

You are capable of more than you think. Every small step, every moment of focus, brings you closer to the life you actually want. But you have to take those steps. You have to believe in yourself enough to begin.

Persistence is key. It's not about how fast you move, but that you keep moving. Every day. No matter what. You'll thank yourself

story How can I start studying again

I took 8 days off from studying as I was really stressed by the workload of paper I have to read. I have an assignment for a class I started this week, and I have some exams on the 8th and the 19th for some subjects I really don't like that much but they are mandatory and I have been enrolled for a few months now. In one of these subjects there is a chance that If I get a 10 I will be able to join research teams at my uni and maybe even correct other student's exams

Take risks, now is the time - Don’t wish, move towards the unknown Article

Dreams are unfulfilled desires.

A path that you imagined and never walked.

Many of us live in the idea of living.

We sleepwalk through life, and the only window out of our office cubicle is to see dreams.

Dream that someday things will get better.

Someday I will have written the book I want to write, the painting I want to paint or the thing that you were born to do.

We speak so much of our desires, but never really step up to fulfil them.

Reading, fantasising and preparing won’t move the needle.

Doing would.

discussion how to develop winning mindset ?

It seems like I'm never taking the time and importance to really reflect on my life and the direction it is going. I feel that I'm so focused on other people's life like what they're doing and seeing them successeed. And I ask myself, when am I gonna work on my life. Achieve goals, overcome fears, learning new things and overall building a better life and better future. The things I do now will eventually refer my future. If I'm not doing nothing now then nothing good will be in the future.

I'm currently in the mid20s stage, my family and peers say u have to work on your life instead of feeling stuck in fear and confusion. I don't really know how to get myself out of this rut. Currently just feeling overwhelmed because idk what to pursue in college. I work at job that I don't like and pay sucks. I'm also not overcome the fear of driving and I keep telling myself just learn but I'm so scared having this nightmare of accidents. I did take few lessons in the past but it was so bad experience. Kept getting honked, felt like I'm lose control when I speed up and since anxiety was in the way. It was difficult to learn.

VIDEO Breathing exercise if you struggle with anxiety and panic attacks

I want to share a video that helped me lower my anxiety and descalate a panic attack

https://youtu.be/vXZ5l7G6T2I?si=VIVv8Q0YH-VLGqDN

Try to relax the body as much as possible and stay grounded in the body to signal to your brain that you are in fact not in danger. Try to breathe as calmly as possible from the belly and focus on the visual in the video to distract yourself from the anxious thoughts.

The color blue is very soothing for the nervous system so try to play the video on full screen. Remove any extra layers of clothing if possible, and drink 1 or 2 sips of water. If possible, go outside in a park to watch the video.

Medication and tools can help temporarily but it's good to get to the root cause and deal with it once and for all. Please consider finding a mental health professional to help you. Good luck!

what is hurting you, showing you what needs to change. While it is best not to dwell on our anger, it also an important emotional signal that shouldn’t be ignored.

Pride – That warm expanding feeling you get in your chest when you’re proud of some achievement or action. It can come from the simplest of things that prove your capacity for goodness and effective action. Some of the most powerful actions for generating warmth are the things we do for others, as not only do they make us feel proud of ourselves, but they also strengthen our social connections.

By listening to your body and following what makes you feel warm and alive, you are following the path that leads out of hibernation. Just like the bear and squirrel emerging at the first signs of spring sun, you must crawl out the darkness of your den, follow the path towards warmth, and let your body regrow and revitalize as it prepares for the fruits of summer. A bear weak and disoriented from hibernation is not so strong, but a bear fully emerged and at the peak of its powers is a force to be reckoned with. You are that bear and you will be surprised at how powerful you can become
