Trying to install Monterey on Acer Aspire E1
hey guys, i'm having trouble to install macOS Monterey on my Acer laptop, it's an Ivy Bridge laptop however i've seen people managing to get up to Sonoma on laptops with same specs as my laptop, however in this case, i manage to get to the Apple logo as i boot the installer, but it freezes instantly and not even the loading bar shows up, only the Apple logo, what can i do for solve it?
config:

10GB DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Atheros AR9485 WiFi
Kingston 240GB SSD
macOS Big Sur installed
if necessary, i can send my config.plist, and yes, i'm planning to do some upgrades on it, even swapping the wireless card

GUIDE How to disable CFG Lock on some Lenovo laptops
NOTE: This may only work on 2021 and older BIOS versions, because it's using a vulnerability in Lenovo's UEFI that was patched soon after!!

So, by searching how to access advanced BIOS settings on Lenovo laptops i found a tool that was doing an NVRAM exploit then found more about the exploit itself. Within the hidden BIOS settings you can disable CFG Lock without any more advanced stuff.
So.
1. Boot to a Linux live environment
2. Check if efivars is mounted (ls /sys/firmware/efi/efivars) if not, run /sys/firmware/efi/efivars, but it should be already mounted
3. Execute this command to create a BIN file: echo -ne '\x07\x00\x00\x00\x01' > cE_exploit.bin
4. Then execute these commands:set +H If you use bash set this also else bash will complain because of !-6sudo cp cE_exploit.bin /sys/firmware/efi/efivars/cE!-6acce65d-da35-4b39-b64b-5ed927a7dc7eThis command does the write to the NVRAM!!!
Now reboot your Lenovo laptop and go to the BIOS and you should see Main, Advanced and Power menu appear.
Now:
1. Go to Advanced
2. Then go to Power & Performance => CPU - Power Management Control
3. Scroll to the bottom and go to CPU Lock Configuration
4. Now you should have 2 options, CFG Lock and Overclocking Lock
Disable CFG Lock and reboot your laptop.
Now confirm if it's unlocked with ControlMsrE2.efi
If it's unlocked, congrats!
HOW TO CHECK IF YOUR BIOS IS SUPPORTED:
Open your BIOS image in UEFITool, in case of lenovo BIOS Update images you need to unpack them from the update exe first. If the official UEFITool is crashing try this fork, as it worked for me: https://github.com/ISpillMyDrink/UEFITool/releases/tag/A60.1
Unfortunately it's only for Windows, but runs fine under Wine on Linux.
Now find cE! unicode string, if it's found your BIOS is supported and it SHOULD work, if not, then your BIOS is not supported.

UHD630 3rd Display with USB-C To HDMI Cable
I have a Lenovo Tiny M720Q i7-8700 with 2 displays via built in DP and HDMI ports, very happy with the setup.
I happen to own CableMatter USB-C to HDMI CABLE which I previously use with my MBP with no issue. Tried it on the Lenovo USB-C port to a 3rd Display but no luck.
Has anyone tried this? Don't mind doing my own Googling but what's the right search keywords? UHD630/ Intel IGP routing to USB-C port in hackintosh? Thanks

Fenvi T919 in Sonoma/Sequoia?
A bit before Sonoma dropped, I bought two Fenvi T919 cards for my Hacks. Ventura is next in line to stop receiving updates (as far as I know, anyway), and the amount of noodling required to get these cards working in Sonoma/Sequoia gives me the ick.
I originally bought these cards specifically for AirDrop support, but I've since stopped using it in favor of LocalSend (which works better for my use case, anyway). Is there a kext out there that just enables basic WiFi use for the Fenvi on post-Ventura macOS?

iMac 2017 with Radeon Pro 580 8GB constantly using ~100% GPU VRAM on macOS Sequoia (OCLP)
Hey all,
I’m running macOS Sequoia 15.3.2 on an iMac 27" (2017) using OCLP. Everything works fine, but I’ve noticed something odd with GPU memory usage.
My Radeon Pro 580 8GB often sits at 95–100% VRAM usage, even when I’m only running apps like Arc, Slack, Chrome, and VSCode. I tried closing them one by one, and while usage drops slightly, it never really goes below 4 GB, even when idle.
It sometimes causes stuttering and lag, especially during video calls and screen sharing, which doesn’t happen on my MacBook Pro 2019 (i9 + Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB) running the same Sequoia version with the same apps and VRAM there rarely exceeds 20%.
Is this expected behavior on Sequoia with AMD GPUs (especially via OCLP), or is something off?
Appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or shared experiences 🙏

My PC won’t boot from the drive
Hi guys!
I just installed Ventura on my PC! But the problem is, I can’t boot from my drive. The USB works fine, I can boot macOS from it. But my BIOS doesn’t see the drive, although there’s an EFI partition with an EFI folder in it. Any ideas?

Hackintosh on my lenovo legion 5 slim ARP9 laptop
Hi, I'm new to this world and would like to try macOS (Sonoma or Sequoia). I'm not sure if it would work on my laptop. The specs are these:
* AMD Ryzen™ 7 7745HS with integrated graphics AMD Radeon™ 680M
* graphics nvida 4070
* 16GB of RAM at 4800MHz
* 1TB of storage
* RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E 160MHz network card
What I want to do is dual-boot with Windows, obviously creating the partitions and only using the processor's integrated graphics. I saw some videos showing how it could be done with the APUs. I think I'd also need to use another network card (if you can recommend one, USB).

Intel 14900K vs KF Sleep/Wake
Are there really sleep/wake problems with the 14900K, some here wrote that the 14900KF does not have this problems. Shouldn't it be enough to deactivate the IGPU at the 14900K?

Is it possible to hackintosh a lenovo g505?
I got this laptop, Lenovo G505, and I tried so much to hackintosh it, but nothing works. OpenCore is just stuck on underscore. Tried oc debug, and then I see that it's stuck on "Watchdog status is 0". Tried some more messing in the config.plist but nothing.

Fenvi T919 network card not working on Sequoia
Hello there!
I've decided to make a clean install from Ventura to Sequoia and my Fenvi T919 network card is not working anymore (it did on Ventura).
I know that's because Apple dropped support for some Broadcom cards, including mine, so I followed a guide from GitHub to get it working.
I've included the kexts, excluded the original kext from Kernel-Block, disabling SIP and applying OCLP root patches. Nothing. I've tried to do these steps several times but it just doesn't work. Maybe I'm missing something?

Merging two EFI's into working one
I have one EFI (built by me) with working most stuff but sound, bluetooth, card reader doesn't work althrough I added required kexts and the second EFI (from web) which is older but has these three things working but it's buggy. Can someone help me to merge things from these to my EFI

how to disable SIP on Hackintosh?
I'm running an Acer aspire 5 that after many tries finally got booting.
Im trying to use a guide to install driver for a usb wifi adaptor for my computer (the kexts aren't working) but the one I got is for windows and I can't be bothered returning it. I found a guide online on how to successfully install my exact model on the OS I'm running (Ventura) and all was going well until I realised I could boot into recovery OS.
I've tried 2 different codes for my config.plist file but none of them have worked, and the open core guide isn't helping. Please send help :Sob:

I have a Hackintosh running perfectly on an EliteDesk G4 765, but I have macOS Sequoia installed on a SATA drive. My question is, will I have any issues installing it on an NVME drive with the Maxio MAP1602 driver? I know macOS has issues with disk controllers.

Can't boot opencore on my ASUS TUF laptop
Hello everyone! I'm trying to get macOS Monterey on my ASUS TUF GAMING laptop (Intel Core i5-10300H @ 2.50GHz, 12GB of RAM, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 (4GB) and Intel UHD Graphics (128 MB). Any WIFI cards 'that just work' for macOS Sequoia?
I recently upgraded my Hackintosh from Monterey to Sequoia and now my Fenvi T919 card is no longer working.
I know I can re-enable this (with a few security compromises) but since this machine is permanently plugged in to Ethernet and I'm time poor I won't be going down that route.
I suspect I know the answer but I thought I'd check anyway... Are there any cards I can buy that 'just work' like my Fenvi used to?
