Any news on the balance patch?
Hi, I saw u/RidiculousHat talking about a balance change before the new expansion. I thought it would be last week, but I guess they wanted to see if the new gifts and legendaries had an impact on the meta.
I'd say that their impact was minimal. Regardless, could we expect a patch today/tomorrow? Or do we have to wait some more?

Crazy Eights Solver (Secret Puzzle)

You can make a copy of this spreadsheet to automate the math involved in the puzzle.
There's a quick blurb on how to find the puzzle in the doc, but here's the rundown:
1. Get into a friends-only match with 7 other players. Having a chat/discord call is VERY recommended!
2. Avoid heroes that auto summon or alter minions (like Ozumat or Al' Akir), or add cards to hand (Faelin)
3. GO COMPLETELY AFK for the first 3 turns. Don't even look at that mouse!
4. On turn 4 you will go to Lightspawn Land. Your goal is to have everyone tie for 5 more turns!

Analyzing all the iconic Harth hands
Looking at how strong I think each hand is. This is just my opinion, please don't tear me to shreds too much over it. Mainly looking if he is played on or nearly on curve. Also only looking at standard, and going to assume Sludgelock is nerfed so that other decks are playable.

Blood DK
Very very strong. 2 board clears, 2 cheap removal, 2 excellent minions that effect the board on play, and a bad wincon. You have a good chance to regain some of the lost tempo from playing Harth over the next 2 turns, and once you do the value you got from this hand should be enough to close out the game. What more could you ask for?

Frost DK
The fact that you can Frostwyrm's Fury the turn after getting the hand makes it actually playable. Otherwise, you get a bit of removal. Not great to recover from Harth's loss of tempo.
​
Unholy DK
So after losing a ton of tempo, you can flood the board next turn! Which isn't going to help you recover from losing all your tempo in the first place. If you are ahead on board, any hand should be great. If you are behind, this hand will not save you. Yuck
​
DH
For anyone who doesn't know, this hand is bugged. They are going to revert some of the nerfs for this hand (and only this hand) so I won't judge it at all.
​
Druid
The weapon takes too long to break. The end.
​
Mage
It feels like this hand could be so good, but it just isn't. Alexstrazsa and Archmage Antonidas both take a turn to do their thing, and the only time they are going to not lose the game instantly once played is versus a control warrior, who probably has enough armor to ignore taking a piddly 30 damage. Replace Archmage with an Ice Barrier might help, but I don't know if it is enough to save it.

Hunter
This hand is a winner. Next turn, you can dump 6 of the cards you get, for 3 mana. If you have 9 mana on the turn you play Harth, you don't even have to wait, meaning no tempo loss. The secrets are mostly very very good as well, with misdirection just feeling kinda out of place. You also get 12/12 worth of stats for 5 mana. Plus an amazing win-con. Rarely will you be unhappy to see this hand.

Paladin
As someone who hated this deck, I am not happy to see this instead of anything else. It isn't the worst, but it isn't great either. Pen flinger isn't playable in it's current form, and Lady Liadrin is just way too slow to get value. Overall, this hand sucks.
​
Priest
Now this is the hand you want to get every game. For your opponent. Clunky clunky clunky and more clunky.
​
Rogue
It is honestly weird how this hand works. On one hand, your opponent can't play around the fact that you are about to draw them 8+ cards. On the other, you just gave your opponent 8+ cards.
​
Shaman
It feels so close to being perfect. But it is a bit clunky, low tempo, and has a 1/3 of just not working. Replace either of the spells with Murmuring Elemental (your next battlecry this turn triggers twice) and I can see it maybe breaking everything and ruining the game for 2 years.
​
Warrior
I miss this deck, I really do. 10/10, would get in here again
​
Warlock
Clunky, yet it will win the game 100% of the time if you let it. Defile is the most important card in the hand, as otherwise you are playing a bunch of powerful cards that look very cool and oh look you died to playing a 6 mana 5/5, then next turn wasting 5 mana on a weapon that didn't do anything.
