Two times in the past, a certain political party had attempted to unfairly acquire wealth generated by ordinary citizens of this country in order to fill its own coffers "allegedly" under the facade of "gareebi hatao"-ing.

One is free to check the economic indicators in the years following these - say 1964, 65, 66, 67 and 1975, 76, 77, 78 - to see if it had any meaningful or significant impact on growth, development or other parameters.
Today, a progeny of the same dynastic-family has "allegedly" proclaimed that a financial survey will be conducted and individuals who have "more" wealth will be stripped of their wealth and "minorities" will be given benefits based on number-of-people / population-size.
Given that the south has relatively lower population, this means that wealth from south will be confiscated and handed over to "marginalized communities" in north.
Is this fair - or unfair?
IMHO - it is absolutely necessary. Why shouldn't "allegedly" ill-gotten wealth from sabareesan & family, kalanidhi & family, and several such families, be confiscated and transferred to the likes of laloo, and mulayam family?
Unfortunately - those families will not be affected. Only the "so-called" middle-class - who own one tiny 400 sq-ft flat in some remote outskirt (like manali, or tiruninravur, or chengalpet) and paying EMIs will have their wealth stripped. And that wealth will not even make it to the poor or deserving persons. Most of it will be usurped by various layers in between.
I hope that the middle-class vote for such wealth redistribution - and have their wealth confiscated. I think this society deserves a hard-lesson. A lesson which our ancestors learned. But, obviously, one that we've largely forgotten. Just as almost none-of-us remember or knew what was the "Compulsory Deposite Scheme Acts" of 1963, 1974. Those who don't remember their past are deemed to repeat & re-live it.

Anyone who does not have a genuine reason to not vote…
First of all, the way I look at it, there cannot be any genuine reason to not vote unless their lives were at stake or are completely disabled. My brother in law has a three day event in mumbai from apr 18 to 20. He is specifically coming to chennai just to vote and going back immediately. I also know people who do not want to vote because “all political parties are bad”. In other words “I am a lazy bum who wants to only complain but do not want to contribute in any way”.
While there are a lot of flaws in our country, one thing people cannot complain about is how easy it is to vote here.
Anyone who does not have a genuine reason to not vote will suffer from constipation for the next 30 days.
