Today, i thought, was gonna be just like any other day. Little did I realize, how it was to be so 'enlightening' to me.
If folks have travelled by taxi frequently, you'll have known that only n00bs use ola, uber, and other apps. Telegram groups offer an alternate solution (fixed price, all transaction is based on mutual acceptance between the driver and the passenger). So, I requested a 'known driver' to book me a trip - it was supposed to be package 5 hrs 50 kms. It turned out to be 6 hrs 60 kms.
We went to a location in Mannivakkam and the driver's home was at West Tambaram. It was lunch time - and we offered the driver to go home for lunch if he preferred to. He did.
All was good till this point.
We were returning back and the topic of discussion slowly turned towards how dmk - admk will stifle any other political party from growing. How seeman, vijay, etc will face problems. While speaking all these, the driver said that a professor who travelled on his cab had said that mudi ji actually arranged for the g0dhra massacr3. How rss is working to exterminate "ykw" communities.
My questions, which "obviously" went unanswered, to driver anna was:
1. Would you please show a single speech where mudi ji or any rss india-level leader on stage ever said they wanted to exterminate "ykw" communities?
2. Why did multiple courts (including supreme court) acquit mudi ji - if he was behind the planning of the massacre of kar-sevaks returning on that fateful train?
The trip completed. And, as always is my standard, I did pay the driver anna an additional 20% above the actual amount. (For reference, in this particular telegram group 10 km 1 hr is Rs 250. So 6 hr 60 km is Rs 1500 & I paid Rs 300 extra)
The whole interaction, which was definitely enlightening, put a wide smile on my face and the satisfaction knowing that this state and its public DESERVE EXACTLY what they get.
Now, when I will see news reports like kilambakkam 'salai mariyal', or rain-water-damages, etc - I will remind myself how this public DESERVES it.
