Do NOT study at MES Medical College
What the title says. This place ruined my life. I don't think even DECADES of therapy can fix the damage this place has done to me.
The vice principal of MBBS is the worst person I've ever met. The one thing she's taught me is all the things you SHOULDN'T do as a doctor. The way she treats her staff is also horrible. And if she hates a students, she makes sure their life will be living hell for the rest of their career as a UG medical student.
Moreover, the management is abysmal. Bc the hospital is owned by a literal business tycoon, any legal cases made against the management falls through. Students are treated like shit and their social development is stunted. The students aren't allowed to have even half the exposure as their counterparts in other private medical colleges.
The culture around here is also so very primitive. If you're slightly different in any way, you have a target on your back.
Long story short, if you are an aspiring medico or know someone who is, ask them to join literally ANY other college. They but their publicity by throwing money at the media, they're not even half as good as they're made out to be. Do not fuck up your mental health before you even step into the work force. It's just not worth the tension of thousands of rupees in antidepressants 🥲

I (27M) have gotten UDC post in DFO MSME Thrissur through CGLE 2023. I am originally from Delhi currently working in Mumbai at same pay scale.I am thinking about taking the MSME job.I know English and Hindi. Will I face too much difficulties here? And, how is the living cost here?Also,I am getting married,So,my wife( veterinary doctor) and I(both vegetarians)are thinking of coming here and see the place once before making the decision.I will be thankful if you guys will give a clear picture about life as a person from Delhi here

Advice on getting a job
Im a graduate (in food science)and wanted to relocate to Ernakulam for an exam prep.I need atleast 10k a month and was hoping to get a job but don't know how.I tried LinkedIn, Naukri, etc.They were mostly pyramid scheme sales calls.I tried online tutoring and they said I need experience so couldn't even bag an interview.My skills: MS Office suite, Trilingual (English, Hindi and Malayalam), Musical instruments (Keyboard and Drums), public speaking etc.Tutoring was the best thing I hoped for myself.Anyone got any referrals or suggestions?

PSC early retirement and joining
Hi All,
Just need to know one query, I have myself in a position where my psc rank list is going to cancel with in an year and I am the next in line for the job.I will get the job if I have any vacancy opening within this one year period ,and found one guy who is going retire from his position after one month of my rank list cancellation.Is there any possibility that I can request this guy for an early retirement or can I join as an temporary postion to this and later since this guy has a leave more than 200 plus in his service.
Is there anything I can do as a last resort to get this job?

Why is public transport adoption so low in Kerala? How do you think it can be solved?
6.8 million commuters in Kerala have stopped using buses in the last decade. Meanwhile, the number of cars has increased by 140%. After the pandemic, the number of private buses on the road has dropped significantly, going from 27,500 20 years ago to just 7,300 in 2023.
Experts estimate that at least five buses are needed per 1,000 people in urban areas like Kochi, but currently, Kerala has only 0.5 buses per 1,000 people when the national average is 1.33.
Still, a lot of people rely on buses and other means of public transport. But for the system to survive, it needs more people to actively use it.
Why do you think people in Kerala are moving away from public transport? What are some solutions to solve this issue and get more people to use public transport?

What do you think about the Malayali diaspora not passing down Malayalam?
I’m mostly talking about the ones who live in English-speaking Western countries like Britain, America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Based on my observations, it seems like the Malayali diaspora is a lot less likely to pass down the language compared to other Indians like Punjabis, and especially compared to some other ethnicities like Mexicans in America.
My mum’s side of the family has roots in Kerala although my dad is not Indian, however even my cousins with two Malayali parents cannot speak Malayalam at all.

Title: Urgent Help Needed! TAFCOP Mobile Number Cancellation Request - Desperate to Keep My Number.
Hey Reddit community,
I'm in dire need of your help and advice regarding a situation with my mobile number. I've been using this number for the past 5 years, and it has become an integral part of my personal and professional life. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, my number is facing cancellation, and I'm desperately trying to prevent this from happening.
Background:
1. The SIM card is registered in my friend's name, who generously gave it to me five years ago when I didn't have a SIM card of my own.
2. A few months back, my friend, who originally registered the SIM, made a cancellation request on the TAFCOP portal (Telecom Authority for Consumer Protection) or possibly with VI (Vodafone Idea).
3. Unfortunately, my friend didn't remember that the number he was canceling was the one I've been using all this time.
4. Two weeks ago, I received a call from either TAFCOP or VI (I'm not entirely sure), notifying me that the number would be canceled soon and advised me to change the ownership to avoid losing it.
5. Today, my friend and I visited a VI showroom with the intention of changing the ownership of the number. However, the representatives informed us that ownership transfers are only allowed in cases of blood relations.
6. Attempting to port my number to another service provider is proving to be futile due to the previous cancellation request made on the TAFCOP portal.
7. Our efforts to cancel the previous request through the TAFCOP portal have been unsuccessful as there's no option available for such a cancellation.
Why I Need Your Help:
I have been using this number for five years, and it is linked to all my important accounts and services such as bank, college, job, and various IDs.
Appeal for Assistance:
I'm reaching out to the Reddit community in hopes that someone might have experience dealing with similar situations or have knowledge about how to resolve this issue. Any guidance, suggestions, or advice you can provide would be immensely valuable to me.
Can the previous cancellation request be revoked to enable a successful porting process? Is there a specific procedure I can follow to retain my number?
