The post is regarding the kidnapping of 46 Malayali nurses by ISIS from Iraq in the year 2014. It's a well knows secret that the Indian government pulled some strings to get them back safe and this involved negotiations with ISIS and this was done through a popular middle east based Malayali entrepreneur and a Malayali politician who also knew someone who knew someone. This was also shown in the movie Take-off.

Grandma got scammed. What can I do?
So about 2 months ago, this guy who my grandma knew because he used to live a few houses down from us came by and my grandmother asked about reupholstering our couch and also building a new bed. Initially, she also asked him to build a recliner chair which he said he would do but we later cancelled that. He said it would take a few weeks and my grandmother paid him the amount around 20k.
Later on, after him not picking up the phone when she called and a month having passed, we went to his new house and asked him what was going on. He said there was an issue with getting the transport since the bed was built elsewhere, he gave a deadline and we said fine. Deadline passed and he kept dodging the calls. We went again and told him not to bother with it and refund us the amount paid. It got heated, but eventually decided on him paying back that day itself. That day passed and he kept not taking the calls.
I’ve looked into small claims court but I’m not sure how it works here. I don’t know what next steps can be taken. Any advice here would be really helpful.

Do many people read older writers such as Basheer, Uroob and S K Pottakkad these days?
Lately, I've been finding out that not many people in their 20s and 30s have read these authors much, except for Basheer maybe. Some of their works are relatable even now and they have an emotional depth that is almost absent in today's malayalam writing. I think it would be good if these works continue to be explored.

Does having water sprinklers on top of houses and in your concrete/tiled porch area reduce the overall heat in summers?
So I recently went to a relative's house and noticed that they had installed a system of having rotating water sprinklers on the roof top of their house. This water gets distributed on the roof and then trickles down along the walls of their house and finally on the ground where the house is stood. It's a simple DIY mechanism with hoses, T-shaped connectors and regular water sprinklers attached to a pipe outlet. I was told that there is a significant difference in the overall temperature inside the house, specifically in the bedrooms outside which the water trickles down. They run the sprinklers for about 10 minutes a couple times during the day up until early evenings.
Kerala is facing an unbearable summer right now and not everybody has the means to install airconditioners. Has anybody installed such a mechanism in your house? What other mechanisms/practices have you adopted to deal with this summer heat?
