bought some kratom a while ago, it was 100g of red thai kratom I decided to try it I only bought this for pain+sleep, so my first dose was 2.96g at this dose I didn't really feel anything maybe just slightly relaxed for a few minutes, so I waited for about 3 days and took 5g, that should do the trick! so I thought, the only effects I got were, very relaxed and pain relief however the pain relief only lasted for 20-30 minutes, however I presumed it was because I immediately ingested it right after I ate, I tried 5g again after the next day of the previous dose this time skipped dinner I tried mixing it in with RealLime juice waited 10-15 minutes then ingested as it was the same as the previous dose the effects were exactly the same maybe a little more relaxed and the pain relief lasted the exact same time 20-30 minutes, so I searched up for a kratom dose calculator and found this website (kratomdose.org) it suggested to ingest 5.84 - 7.84g for me, I think im gonna try this but this time wait it out and can you suggest me if I should just mix it with water or if I should try other methods like the red bubble method or any other, am somehow not experiencing any withdrawal effects which is surprising, I am also doubtful of these "methods", supposedly that make it "stronger" 3 attempts and didn't get the desired effects only but for a short period I'm a little disappointed, but I open to any suggestions, wish me luck!

Response from Rep. Robert Steven’s re: TN kratom ban
I wrote an email to my reps yesterday and I got a very quick response from one of them. I feel this is a positive response. There has been some talk about “regulating kratom or an outright ban” in the state of Tennessee. I let them all know that the kratom community is all for regulation to keep people safe, but an outright ban is excessive. We got a ban reversed before, I believe we can head this one off at the pass. Our reps seem to be open minded about the subject, esp for a red state. I’m trying to stay positive.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am not on the health or commerce committees, so this is not an issue that would come before me unless it advances to the House floor.
Note: we are out of session until January, so no action could even be taken before then. If you hear of any legislation like this that begins to move in the next session, be sure to let me know!

Recently Rep. Helton-Haynes recommended "the strictest state regulation of kratom or even an outright ban on the sale of kratom in Tennessee."
I'm writing to ask you to support the enforcement of the existing Tennessee Kratom Consumer Protection Act, and to oppose bans. I want to share with you my story on why kratom matters to me.
I’m a married 42 year old woman and a mom to two wonderful boys. I’ve had back problems for about 15 years now. I’ve had surgery to correct it but I still struggle. I’ve found that kratom helps so much with what is now arthritis in my back. I’ve been taking it for years, and it has not negatively affected my health. Quite the opposite.
I do everything I can to stay healthy. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke cigarettes, I don’t do any illicit drugs, I exercise regularly. I’m a law abiding citizen active in my community.
I’m all for strict regulations to get rid of sketchy gas station and smoke shop products. But pure leaf has not caused any damage to my body. There are many,many others like me.
Please consider keeping kratom legal in the great state of Tennessee.

Potential Side Effect?
Hi, so I've been taking kratom regularly for pain for the past 5 years or so (3-9g/day), and for years I've struggled with long dreaming, overly-vivid dreaming, and excessive REM sleep times. It's fairly exhausting and psychologically taxing, but I don't take many medications or supplements, so I'm trying to narrow it down. Was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with regular kratom use.

Disappointed with the webinar regarding Connecticut
While there was a lot of info about other states and products masquerading as kratom that aren’t actually kratom, CT felt like an afterthought and they didn’t seem well informed.
Basically “we hope the governor vetoes it, we don’t exactly know what will happen if he signs it, kratom will be banned but then scheduled later, or the process for scheduling will start and it will be legal in the meantime, we don’t know how each state works at every level, not sure 🤷♂️.”
Then what was the point? You have everyone on here speculating and passing around good and bad info. I took time out to attend the webinar and didn’t learn anything new. At one point there was a “no more CT questions” part.
I’m pissed, genuinely. Did I miss anything? Am I on point or missing something?

Different strains.
When I first found Kratom, it was a way for me to battle alcoholism, and it worked wonders. I had only ever tried red bali, and honestly thought the strain thing was kind of a sham, I thought there were probably slight differences, but didn’t have to desire to fix what wasn’t broken. My local shop was out of red bali so I tried Red Maeng da, and holy shit. What a much more powerful and physical feeling! What others should I try? The Maeng da put me on my ass, and due to my past id rather not feel that intoxicated, but 2grams had me spinning. Let me know your experiences and thoughts!

Is There a "Safe" Daily Amount?
I take 5g per day of pure red maeng da powder. Lately I've had some days where I like to chill out more and instead of drinking, I'll have 7.5 to 10g for the day. Is there a known range within any studies that is deemed generally "safe?"
I hear people here having anywhere between 2g and 50g a day and all kinds of different experiences, so anecdotes don't really help much. Thank you!

What's the latest status in Vermont?
The last I heard was that in 2023, the department of health agreed to remove kratom from schedule 1 listing. KCPA and regulatory action was under consideration by Vermont legislature. But nothing for two years. Anyone know what's happening?

I have used kratom daily for eight years for arthritis pain and it even helped me get through the replacements of both knees and a shoulder.
In fact, I can thank kratom for introducing me to Reddit 😎😎😎 because I found this sub back then for real, non-commercial advice on how best to use it.
Here's my current problem:
I am getting some major foot surgery very soon and may have to go to physical rehab after the operation
This will entail me going cold turkey off of kratom for awhile.
I have read a lot of withdrawal horror stories and am hoping that someone else on this sub MAYBE did not live a nightmare when they were forced to stop using kratom completely. Anyone? 🤔🤔🤔

3 days enough of a break before surgery to get help from pain med?
So I have been here before for teeth extraction and I only took like a 24 hour break from kratom and the oxycodone helped decently enough with the pain post surgery but, this time I am getting alot extracted and worried the pain is technically going to be doubled . I have about 7 days until surgery tried to start break now but am weak and started feeling lethargic and a head ache after skipping my wake up dose of Kratom...

I've stocked up on powdered Kratom, since I live in a 'red' state and also with RFK JR doing lord knows what in the health department these days.... wondering if it would be a good idea to put my Kratom in ziploc bags and store it in the freezer to keep it fresh/viable, or would that be overkill or bad for it?

Kratom Causing Shakiness?
Hey Kratom fam,
I've been taking kratom for years and I've always noticed it makes me shaky. However, I was talking to a few kratom friends that have been taking it just as long and they say it doesn't make them shaky. My hands have little shakes and jitters when I'm on it, but it's recently starting to concern me.. I take kratom with my coffee in the morning and I like all the energy, but I'm just wondering if this is normal. I asked a few friends and they said it doesn't make them shaky. I take green maeng da, if that's relevant. I also have some carpal tunnel symptoms from overuse of hands and I also work out daily, so it could be related to muscle fatigue, but without stopping EVERYTHING I'm doing in my routine I can't really tell, so I'm not sure if I should worry about it. I'm just getting a little concerned and I'm just wondering if anyone else experiences this or if there's something else I should change in my habits. I take it daily and quite a lot in the morning and evenings. Anyone else deal with this?

I severely underestimated the effects the other Alkaloids have
I just got in 75% Mit extract, and while it gives a nice buzz, it feels like it is missing something. Anyone else experience this? If I take a couple grams of powdered leaf with 100mg of the extract it feels awesome.

I'm stocking up for the long haul.
Over the past year, I have been stocking up my supply for the long haul. I'm not to confident this current run on state bans is going to slow down. I know I'll just be fending of the inevitable. But I don't plan on running out and having to just suddenly stop. I am looking into alternatives to Kratom for my chronic pain but there are not many options. Weed does not really touch the pain and I'm not particularly fond of the effects. I wish everyone well and keep fighting via aka.

This is a bill that the AKA worked closely with the governor to get just right. The governor vetoed a similar bill last time around but he has voiced he will sign this bill if it makes it to his desk.
