I‘ve been taking 1/2 tsp of kratom for two weeks and my libido is gone (f24)
I guess i‘m very sensitive to the effects. I also take a very low dose of a ssri (5mg fluoxetin). And I have adhd so my dopamin system is probably very sensitive. And I found out kratom dampens dopamine? Fascinating.
I think i‘m gonna try a three day break from kratom for now. But I have my exam phase soon and i‘m gonna be taking it daily then for sure.
Any tips or knowledge you can share? Thanks in advance!

First time help
Hi all, it’s my time trying kratom and I got 100g of white maeng da powder. What exactly do I do with it? I’m assuming the easiest way is to mix with warm water and drink it. What should I expect? I’m a big guy, and I’ve weighed out around 6 grams of the powder. I used to do opiates quite a lot when I was younger so I’m fairly experienced in that field if that changes anything. Thanks.

Rhode Island Governor Set to Sign Kratom Legalization Bill
Last year, Gov. Dan McKee of RI vetoed a kratom legalization bill, citing opposition from the Departments of Health and Revenue. For a year, lawmakers worked with the governor to address these concerns. The departments remain neutral, and the governor seems ready to sign the bill, legalizing kratom in Rhode Island for the first time since 2017

Call the CT Governor’s office and ask them to veto
We have 14 days for him to veto, sign, or not sign and lets it become law. The veto or signing could happen anytime between now and those 14 days. Mention the Rhode Island ban reversal, Texas, the KCPA, all the articles that have been written recently. I’m skeptical about where this will all go but we can’t give up. Even if you are from out of state, CALL.

🚨 North Carolina HB 328 Update 🚨
‼️ Urgent action is needed to stop HB 328
(A THC bill that quietly added kratom to Schedule VI at the end)
HB 328 has been sent back to the House Rules Committee instead of being voted on for concurrence — this is good news! It means lawmakers have decided to delay or reevaluate the bill, likely due to the controversial kratom provision.
⭐ Now is the critical time to act.
We need to flood the House Rules Committee with opposition and urge them:
❌ DO NOT place HB 328 back on the concurrence calendar unless the section that schedules kratom is removed.
This may be our best shot to stop the bill before it ever reaches the governor’s desk.

Do I tell the new doctor I’m going to about Kratom?
I’m seeing a rheumatologist for some suspected auto immune issues that are most likely leading to the flu like body aches I get. Should I tell him about Kratom? I use a mix of gabapentin, cannabis, and Kratom which has worked pretty well for and really helps the pain and other symptoms. I have seen quite a few doctors not on board with Kratom so I wanted to see if is worth telling him about it

Mixing tips
Hi there! Been using kratom for a year or two and I have my routine down. However I do suffer from nerve damage that gives me weak hands. I usually mix my dose with hot water and the chocolate milk, so there’s no taste but lately it’s not mixing all of it and I know my hands have gotten weaker. Any tips or tricks to ensure a better blend of the two? I greatly appreciate it.

Usage
I've been a user for maybe 4 years. I used to take more then noticed I would have stomach problems and have to lay off for a while. So I take I dose a day usually 4 days out of the week. But if I do dose everyday for over a week straight even I take only 1 dose and it was less grams than before it still affects my stomach. Anyone have the same issue?

🚨🚨🚨NORTH CAROLINA DESPERATELY NEEDS OUR HELP!! THEY SNUCK KRATOM IN A HEMP BILL AND WILL CRIMINALIZE IT! 🚨🚨🚨
📢 URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT 📢
NORTH CAROLINA BILL HB 328 — A HEMP BILL JUST ADDED KRATOM TO SCHEDULE VI RIGHT BEFORE ITS SENT TO THE GOVERNOR!
The bill only needs the governor’s signature to become law!
We need everyone to email/call/tweet the governor every single day until he vetoes this. We can’t let this stand. If you live in NC make sure to let them know on the phone/email/tweets
📞 Governor Josh Stein Contact Info:
• Phone: (919) 814‑2000
• Online contact form: https://governor.nc.gov/contact/contact-governor-stein

(personal Twitter account)
🔑 Key points you can mention when calling or emailing:
• Kratom has helped thousands of North Carolinians manage chronic pain, anxiety, and opioid withdrawal—without deadly consequences.
• Adding kratom to Schedule VI without public input or hearings is undemocratic and unethical.
• HB 328 was originally about THC regulation—sneaking kratom into it at the last minute is deceptive.
• The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has funded research into kratom’s potential as a safer alternative to opioids.
• Kratom is not the problem—banning it could push people back to dangerous, deadly street opioids.
• Urge Governor Stein to veto HB 328 and demand proper research and stakeholder input before any kratom regulation.

Surgeon cancelled my surgery after he told me Kratom is ok if I tell the anaesthesiologist.
I need surgery on the inside of my nose due to a bone spur and deviated septum. I saw him one week ago and I told him I take about 2 teaspoons once a day. We talked about it. He knew I was still taking it. He said I just needed to tell the anaesthesiologist. I came for surgery today, had to drive 45 minutes, did all the prep, and when I arrived I was told he cancelled my surgery because he "told me he wanted me to be off it for two weeks." I'm so pissed.

North Carolina - Keep the Pressure Up
I’ve spoken to multiple House Representatives and Aids in the last 2 days. The general consensus is that HB328 is too different after going through the Senate to pass or go to the floor and does not have enough support. It’s also drawing a lot of public debate that needs to CONTINUE until it’s dead. It passed through the Rules committee yesterday with the Kratom amendment still attached, but they took out a lot of the Hemp ban language from what I can tell. Unfortunately, that makes it less controversial, which is why we need to KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. I have talked to both Rs and Ds, and not one has said they support the Kratom ban, but they also said we need to continue advocating against it! Specifically because it was an amendment that was quietly added.
The good news is that the regulation bill HB468 also had movement through the Rules committee yesterday while simultaneously adding language to ban Kratom and Hemp from schools. I get the feeling that they could try to pivot to the regulation bill, which we should encourage (AKA endorsed bill).
Focus on the Representatives that sponsor both bills, as well as those in your area. I’ve found that calling and leaving a message gets way more engagement, and I’ve had some Representatives (including mine) answer the phone themselves to have a conversation.
Thank you! Let’s keep up the pressure!

Lyme Disease and Kratom
Hi all. I’ve been sick for basically the past month - body aches, fever, weight loss, trouble sleeping, headache. It’s some sort of infection, most likely pointing to Lyme disease. My Lyme antibodies came back high yesterday but more testing is needed to confirm. My liver enzymes have been elevated too.
I initially thought the Kratom caused the elevated liver enzymes and thus weakened my immune system, causing me to be sick. But now that it’s pointing to Lyme I don’t know what to think.
I take about 9-12 grams of powder per day. Started about 5 months ago. Do you think I can continue to take Kratom while sick? I stopped last Friday and wouldn’t mind picking up again, but don’t want to do anything to inhibit my recovery. Any advice would be appreciated!

Looking for Advice - Depression, Kratom, 7hydroxy
Just for some short backstory:
I started dealing with depression about 8-9 months ago. I started taking some medication that did seem to help for a short period, but kind of tapered off and stopped working for me 2-3 weeks after ( working in any kind of noticeable way at least ).
The next 6 months were extremely difficult, most or many days were simply hanging on, trying to make it back to bedtime. Wasn’t dealing with a crying all day type of depression, but just kind of mostly numbed out, no pleasure out of anything, so tired all the time, like my brain was off, and just feeling kind of dead inside all the time. I was taking medication but it didn’t really seem to be helping at all.
I saw some kratom in the vape shop one day and was curious about what it was. After some reading I found that there were some people that used it to treat anxiety and depression. I figured hey mine as well give it a try, what do I have to lose?
First trying regular kratom, it had no effect. It was basically like I didn’t even take anything. I upped my dose multiple times, but same thing, no effect.
Then instructed over and tried 7 hydroxy tablets, and wow, what a difference. They didn’t even necessarily “fuck me up” in any kind major way, but greatly affected how I felt.
I felt like me again, my personality came back in such a major way, I had so much more energy, my motivation was back, my drive to want to “achieve”. It was like my depression was lifted.
I had taken a depression test during the days prior to starting the hydroxy, and I scored a 23, which indicated moderate depression. 3 weeks into taking the hydroxy, I would score anywhere between a 5-8.
My depression completely lifted, and it was and has been amazing.
The problem is, my tolerance has shot through the roof and I can no longer continue forward with taking these tablets due to cost also. I also noticed that when I do not take them for more then a day, I start to get bad withdrawel, which I’ve read about and see that I’m going to have quite the ride coming off of these once I stop.
So, I really don’t want to go back to feeling depressed. These pills have had such an antidepressant effect for me, and have completely helped me turn things around over the last 10 weeks.
I’m not sure what to do. I can see that I am going to need to come off of these and put them down for good, but they have worked so well in regard to helping me to feel better and removing my depression and bringing me back to feeling like myself.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there any way I might be able to find these same results with regular kratom if I found the right strain and possibly altered my dosing? I just can’t understand how they have seemed to work so well with anti-depressant effects for me. I like how they don’t make me inebriated at all, no one would even know that I was taking them. I seem completely normal and just come across as a happy, well spoken guy who is excited about life and motivated to make it be the best it can be.
I don’t want to lose this, I don’t want to lose me after finding myself again. I really love myself and love who I am and don’t want to go back to just feeling dead inside all the time. But I can see that, long term, I can’t continue to do the 7 hydroxy any longer. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m having to take so much more than I did when I started using it, which can’t be healthy. It’s also becoming extremely expensive to maintain financially as well.
I just wanted to post on here to see if anyone had any suggestions, ideas, insight or just straight up information that might help me figure out an alternative, or even just give me some perspective on my situation and what to do next.
Thanks so much everyone.

Kratom Extract Study at Johns Hopkins Still Recruiting!
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking volunteers for a research study that will take place on our Baltimore, MD campus.
The study is assessing the effects from commercial kratom extract products among people who have experience using them (e.g., products you have used before). We are also assessing how these extract products are metabolized by the body. Qualitative interviews with participants are conducted at the end of the study. By kratom extracts, we mean we mean products derived from the leaf material of the natural kratom botanical and put into a more concentrated formulation (e.g., liquid shot, tablets, gummies, drink mix). We do not mean synthetic 7-OH/pseudo products. 7-OH/pseudo products are not considered to be kratom extract for the purposes of this study and cannot be taken as part of this current study.
People who may be eligible for this study are: 21 years of age or older, experience with commercial kratom extracts (not homemade extracts), and are willing to provide samples of the kratom extract product they have used.
Participation requires an in-person screening visit (about 5-6 hours) on our Baltimore, MD campus to first determine study eligibility.
People who are eligible and who decide to enroll in the study will then return to our Baltimore campus a few weeks later to stay in a residential research unit for approximately 2 days and 1 night. During the study participants will consume their typical extract product at their typical serving.
This is not a treatment study.
Compensation of up to $1,100 will be provided for study completion.
Travel reimbursement will be provided.
We very much still need interested study participants. Please consider volunteering and helping advance science. If you want to see if you may be eligible for this study, you can complete online screening questionnaire here:

Where did the American pronunciation of "kratom" come from?
Why do people pronounce 'kratom' with a hard 'A' (like 'kray-tom') instead of a soft 'A' (like 'kra-tom')?"
The original Thai word uses a soft 'A' and emphasizes the second syllable (like 'kra-tom'). Why the change in pronunciation? Most Europeans say it with a soft 'A' too. I think its only Americans that use the hard 'A' when pronouncing 'kratom'.
I have always thought of this change in word sounds as something like a rebranding that Americans do to everything. Similar to how we use the imperial system instead of metric, or how we play our own version of football.

I'm not saying you shouldn't tell your doctor everything you're taking. However, I am saying that four life insurance companies have denied me (38 year old male, no health issues, great blood work, nonsmoker) ANY policy because my doctor mentioned kratom use for pain management in my file.
I really don't know what to do. My wife has high blood pressure, and they gave her a policy with no issues. Kratom use is the only thing in my file that "looks bad," and they won't even offer a high premium or deductible policy.

Sneezing after stopping
So I'm a daily user but I take breaks. I take the regular extracts now (no kava no synthetics) but I started taking powder in 2017. I've probably been taking extracts for a year now, maybe 2.... So I take long breaks or it'll be miserable to take a break because I'll get withdrawals.
Anyway, every time I've taken a break in the last few months, I've sneezed! I'm currently one week into a break and I am still sneezing a dozen times a day, but each episode is like three to five times! I normally never sneeze at all! I never sneezed before I started taking the powder or before starting the extracts but every time I stop now I sneeze like crazy. What the hell is going on?
Does this happen to anybody else?

Something big is happening — voices are being heard
Over the past few weeks, more and more people have stepped forward to share their experience with products that look like kratom but hit much harder. Some say they didn’t know what they were taking. Others were surprised to find out how different these new tablets really are.
There’s a growing effort to document what’s happening and make sure people in Washington understand the difference between natural kratom and these new synthetics.
If you’ve used kratom, or if you’ve seen how things are shifting, your perspective might matter more than you think.
Drop a comment if you’re open to adding your voice. Someone will reach out.

Less really is more
I see a lot of posts, and have made them myself. I was taking 4g every 4 hours from the time I woke up and started to feel nothing/crappy after each dose. I tried waking up to half of that (1.5-2g) to just try it, and actually felt great! The last few days each dose is actually working and I feel the warm, pain relief, mood lift I missed so much. It’s hard to believe but it’s working. Just sharing that less really is more for those of you taking big doses. Try not tapering, just wake up and take a small dose to start and see how you feel it’s worth the try. 💚

How To Avoid Nausea ?
Hi!
Wondering what you all do to avoid throwing up, or nausea? I have tried lowering dose, and have tried a few different types as well. I just can’t seem to keep it down sometimes.
I take 15mg of 7 twice a day. Currently doing a taper. (I know I am not on the right sub regarding 7). Today my pain was pretty bad so about 3 hours after I took about 4grams of red vein kratom in water. Then about 30 minutes later I threw up. :( this seems to be a common theme lately. I am starting to worry. I used to take powder pretty often and this never happened before.
Sometimes I take it on an empty stomach, sometimes I don’t. Either way it seems to not really make a difference.

Help for a kratom beginner
I have terrible intermittent anxiety, coupled with insomnia and subluxation of the spine, all of which conditions come with more and more addictive, and usually ineffective, meds. A friend suggested that the right variant of Keaton, or convo of variants taken at different times for each symptom could prove serious relief and get me off the RX cycle that never ends.
Can you advise what kratom and dose you would suggest for
Anxiety in mornings
Back pain all the working day
Insomnia at night
Ant suggestions would be most appreciated
