Daily kratom use interaction with psilocybin?
I plan to begin micro dosing psilocybin for my anxiety and depression issues. though I've heard that kratom is a mild ssri and there could be risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with psychedelics, Ive been using kratom for about 3 years and am at 7 grams per day right now. does anyone know if this would be dangerous to start dosing mushrooms with? or have any personal experience using the 2 at the same time?

Quick Iowa Update
Listening to an interview with Mac from the AKA: overall the mood in iowa seems positive and the AKA seems cautiously optimistic regarding the ban. One very interesting point is that MAC said that one senator mentioned he or she had received over 1,000 emails from advocates like us.
Guys (and gals) we ARE being heard in Iowa. Mac said that that whole reason the Iowa ban bill has slowed down drastically is because of our advocacy. Whether the ban bill quietly fades away or we get our regulation amendment, let’s see this thing through and put this ban to bed!

How safe is it to take 1mg of Xanax about an hour after taking 5g of Kratom?
Flying for the first time this Saturday, and am absolutely terrified. I am prescribed Xanax for my anxiety. I was thinking of taking Kratom just before we left for the airport, but may need the Xanax in an emergency in case I have a panic attack when I'm actually on the plane.
Any potential risks I should be concerned about? TIA

I am unable to feel the effects of kratom after trying a synthetic extract, is this normal?
About five weeks ago a guy at a store suggested I try a kratom "extract" and stupidly I did without doing any kind of research first. I took 50mg of synthetic 7-OH and had a REALLY bad time. I was intensely high for about an hour followed by around ten hours of horrible itching, twitching and insomnia. I felt hungover the next day after I was finally able to get some sleep.
I have tried kratom three separate times over the last seven days (two days in-between each time), twice at my normal dose and once today at nearly twice my regular dose. I haven't felt any effects at all from taking the normal kratom.
I use this stuff to help with reoccurring pain so I am really concerned that I may have fucked up my brain chemistry from using the synthetic stuff.
Does anyone else have any experience with this of something similar?

Kentucky: HB 757 with Sales Prohibition at Governor
House Bill 757 has been sent to the governor. This is a massive spending bill, the kind of stuff random crap gets inserted into because it is hard to shoot down literally hundreds of pages of changes over a handful of bad provisions.
Prohibition was shoved in at the last minute, in the style of Connecticut.

Ask them to line-item veto the kratom provisions that would prohibit all sales.

This bill would repeal the KCPA.
It will set a civil offense for sales and distribution in the state, with a $5000 fine ($10000 for subsequent violations).
It will not criminalize consumer possession.
====
Unrelated: Advocacy with the Kansas governor is still needed.
Note pending bills in TN (see announcements), IA far in the process. MI bill put forward using the same anti-democratic procedure gaming. Also note bills in SC and ~~ID~~ (appears to be out of the woods, but keeping an eye on it is never bad).
Possibly others, just those on the top of my head.

Short on funds this week. what would you do in my situation?
I very recently had to pay for an enormous vet bill for my dogs op, and so without doing the proper budgeting I am now going to be unable to get any kratom for atleast a week I think.

Traveling to a country (where kratom is banned) for 10 days. Looking for an alternative for my specific case — has anyone been in a similar situation?
Hey everyone. I'm taking a 10-day trip to Ukraine soon (kratom is strictly illegal there) and I need to find a temporary alternative that fits my specific needs. Has anyone here been in a similar situation when traveling?
I’ve been taking a microdose (about 2g of Gold Borneo daily for the past year) nd it's been an absolute lifesaver for my mental health I struggle with social anxiety. My brain constantly overanalyzes every single word I say and hyper-monitors people's reactions. Without kratom, even on a short 1-2 hour walk with friends, my social battery can drain very quickly.
Kratom is my shield. It gives me this cozy "warm blanket" feeling, shuts down my inner critic, and lets me joke naturally. On itI can easily talk 1-on-1 for hours and actually enjoy the connection. Its also great for just chilling on the bus with music.
I’ll be seeing a lot of old friends and family on this trip, and I’m terrified of reverting back to my closed-off, awkward self. It’s really important for me, if possible, to find a legal alternative (or a stack) for these 10 days that covers both needs: natural communication and that warm, slight "zoning out" feeling from kratom, where you just feel completely comfortable with yourself. I definitely want to avoid jittery stimulation that makes me look nervous around my parents.

How do you make tea from loose powder (so that I don't consume plant matter ahead of surgery)?
I have surgery coming up and have to do a longer fast than normal. I would like to make tea during this time, but I'm unsure of how to let it steep without powder ending up being drank. I'm looking for some simple fixes that are easy to do from a hotel, as I won't be at home.
I've read up on temperatures, and I'm good there. I think I'm mostly just asking how you separate out the plant matter before consumption. Do you have any tea making tips for me? Thank you.

Contact Senator Brinks, She Could Be on Our Side
Hello everyone,
The Michigan kratom ban has made it to the Michigan Senate, after skipping committee and being passed by the Michigan HOR, and is now assigned to the Michigan Senate Government Operations Committee.
This committee is chaired by Democratic Senator Winnie Brinks, who is also the Senate Majority Leader. This means she has enormous power.
In addition to the power she holds, here’s why reaching out to her ACTUALLY matters:
Senator Brinks has a background in human services and worked closely with justice-involved individuals and people struggling with complex life challenges, like most of us in the kratom community.
Here's the link through which you can send a direct message: Contact - Senator Winnie Brinks https://share.google/eDejOrU6895lFHxku
Here's a template you can use. Feel free to add your experience, so she can hear our stories and so it's more personal.
Hello Senator Brinks,
I’m reaching out as a Michigan resident regarding House Bill 5537. I respectfully urge you not to advance a full ban on kratom.
Many people use kratom as an alternative to more dangerous substances. A ban would not eliminate that need, it would likely push people toward illicit markets or higher-risk options.
Those of us in the kratom community believe that, were kratom banned, many, many people would return to using illicit, powerful substances like fentanyl. This, in turn, could dramatically increase the number of overdoses, which already occur at alarming rates, as you know.
Many others use it as a natural solution for chronic pain.
Given your background in human services and working with vulnerable populations, I hope you will consider the real-world impact this could have on individuals who are trying to stay stable and avoid more harmful substances.
Additionally, as you know, this bill BYPASSED the committee process in the Michigan House, did not get a public comment period, nor expert testimony.
Lastly, please also note the distinction between natural, plain leaf kratom, which has been used safely for generations in Southeast Asia, and for decades in the United States, and powerful, synthetic derivatives like 7-OH. Many of us support the regulation of 7-OH, but oppose the banning of plain leaf kratom.
I would strongly support a regulatory approach focused on safety, labeling, and consumer protections rather than prohibition.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
If you choose to write your own message, please keep it respectful.

Delaware needs your help!! KCPA
We are very close to a KCPA in Delaware. Our surrounding states, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey. A lot of us tend to mimic each other in legislation. So if we can get this KCPA passed here it is a good signal to the other states around us. After speaking several of the lawmakers, they WANT to hear from you. They WANT your stories. So here is all of the relevant information. Two separate bills. One ban bill in a committee, one regulation bill in a committee. And like I said, there is a good chance at a KCPA here which would be nice especially amongst all the chaos.

Kansas
I called 785-468-8500 press #4.I just called, and she has signed it yet, and has 10 days to sign, or not sign, or to try and change the verbiage, I think that's what she said. The lady I talked to was very nice. she said that the right were the ones who brought this bs legislation and not the dems. I asked her to just talk to Matt Salmon from the AKC and follow the science. I told her they should 100% ban the 7OH stuff, and it serves no purpose, imo. to regulate it , make it 21, and test it. I have been using kratom for almost 20 years, off and on, and has helped me with my alcholism and only until a few years ago. southeast Asian countries have been using the kratom plant, as medicine and safely, in south east Asia for thousands and thousands of years. I also said that the MAoris from New Zealeands actually prescribe it as medicine. I also mentioned how that even in Texas, they have banned everything except the flower, banned the 7OH stuff, and regulated it. I said it was sad when a state like Texas was more progressive than you. I should of gone into more why I use it I guess, I just wanted her to understand my absolutely 100% agree with Matt salmon from the AKC and to ban the 7OH stuff. I told her if people wanna advocate for 7OH, that's fine I am not gonna stop you, just stop saying it is kratom because it is a plant and 7OH is made in some lab. take that shit out of Gas stations and the purposely misslabeling has gotta stop man. I also mentioned how, I am here in wichita kansas, is going destroy so many small businesses. if she does it she will make thousands of jobs vanish and make people have to worm at Walmart or.dillons, and not be able to care for there families, or leave. call guys, she has signed yet!!! I think I might call back later and leave a message. make my veteran husband call, he take it for his ptsd panic attacks every once in a while to help be able to go to sleep when weed doesn't help. this is so rarely, but it also effects ts him because I have to use it for my sciatica nerve pain from a botched back surgery. not all the time, but definitely in the morning if I can't walk with wanting ro cry, guess it may be time for another spinal fusion. anyways call please.

Tried posting about the proposed ban on the Georgia subreddit. That was that a mistake
I posted my testimony. Severe auto-immune disease, on the brink of death, kratom gave me my health and my life back, yadda yadda yadda. I got absolutely annihilated in the comments. I had the post up for about 45 minutes and every single comment was negative. It’s like people didn’t even read the post. It’s very discouraging how all some people need to hear is that it’s sold at gas stations and then they automatically assume that it’s not safe and that there’s absolutely no way that it could possibly help anyone. The sheer hatred, mockery, and lack of empathy in those comments has me feeling down. I’m losing sleep over this bill because I know I’ll be back to frequent hospitalizations if I lose access to this wonderful plant. The last I heard things were looking up, but does anybody have an update on Georgia?

California Kratom laws
I'm unaware of what the penalty of possession in Los Angeles is now. They've banned it I think because all the smoke shops took them off their shelves, but one I go to particularly still sells the powder. Obviously I buy it because I need it for all my mental and physical issues. After reading some posts, I'm kinda freaked out. If I get pulled over and have Kratom canister in my backpack with a water bottle (I usually do two scoops in a 16oz bottle) am I fucked? Totally freaked out now that they banned the sales in January. Immediate Call-To-Action For Kansas!!!
Kansas legislators pulled a last-minute stunt and added kratom and its alkaloids to HB2365, an old bill that threw in kratom with fentanyl as a Schedule 1 substance right before their session closed. They used unjust claims and incorrect information. The bill has been sent to Governor Laura Kelly and the only way to stop it is to convince her to veto!
She is a strong advocate for Harm Reduction tools and Medical Cannabis. This is another version of Reefer Madness.
Please call her office and voice your position to veto this bill!

• Constituent Services Phone: (785) 368-8500
Also, please write to her using their constituent services form here:

Let her know how kratom/7oh has saved you, how it has helped people you know, and/or how dangerous it will be to have it scheduled. People will lose their lives without its help.
This will also give precedent to other states that are looking to ban quickly.
