Dosing question
Hey y’all, trying to find out how much I’m actually taking. I’ve been using a flavored raw leaf powder. The ingredients are listed as m. Speciosa, proprietary flavor blend, and sucralose. It comes with a scoop and the serving size says 1 scoop (4 grams). I ordered some once they sent some capsules as a little freebie. The serving size for those was 5 capsules (2.5 grams).
Is it reasonable to assume that the scoop has 2.5 grams of actual leaf and about 1.5 grams of the flavoring?

For you, does increasing dose make the effects stronger?
Might sound like a silly question, but kratom is finicky and many people say less is more.
I take about 1.2-1.5g at a time, 3-4 times a day with good effects. After the fifth day in a row or so, the effects wane a bit. I usually take three days off and my tolerance goes right back down.
But kind of going through a stressful time lately, could use an extra couple of days of dosing before I take a break.
Ive been taking it for four years on this schedule, and still get the mood boosting effects.
So for you, when the effects start to not be as strong, does taking a bit more make them stronger? Or is there a ceiling that requires a break. Im thinking of bumping it up to 2g or so for a couple days.

Did anyone else notice sb497 died in kansas
They passed hb2365 which made 7oh schedule 1 but didn't mention mitragynine. Then they came out with sb497 which specifically listed mitragynine and kratom leaf powder in the bill language but that bill was never passed. I just wonder what legal consequences for leaf kratom will be like post July 1. Ive stocked up and it makes me nervous how it will be treated legally. Is there a lawyer or someone in law enforcement who knows anything or do we just have to wait until someone gets busted with leaf. Even then I wonder if we will know because when they bust people here with any schedule 1 substance the charge is usually listed as possession of certain opiate/narcotic/stimulant.

withdrawal from taking the naltrexone and kratom together.
I haven’t taken any more kratom, but knowing that kratom can be dangerous with benzos I’m super worried that my taking .25 of klonopin and 1mg Ativan along with the kratom I took today will be dangerous and I’ll start to have respiratory depression or some other scary thing like that. I’m reading they’re not meant to be taken together and that it could cause a dangerous overdose.
I’m still not 100% yet, but I feel significantly better than I did this morning and last night. It is now 1:00pm so it has been 3 hours since I took the .25 klonopin and 1 hour since I took the kratom. Thanks for reading this far!

DC ADVOCACY FLY-IN
Dear Kratom Advocates,
Hopefully you've heard by now but in case you missed it we made a big announcement for June in our national advocacy activity.
On June 2, kratom advocates will take our message directly to Capitol Hill for the Advocacy Legislator Congressional Visit Day. 🏛️
This is more than a meeting day. It is a coordinated effort to put real people, real stories, and real consequences in front of congressional offices. Lawmakers need to hear from the people whose lives would be affected by restrictive policies, misinformation, or attempts to limit responsible kratom access.
Then, on June 3, we will continue that momentum with a Congressional Briefing, where key information will be shared with members of Congress, staff, and policy leaders.

People are assuming that Trump is taking a pro-natural kratom stance
But I think we might be jumping the gun a bit there. People keep saying that he "vowed to protect natural kratom" and idk if I watched something entirely different or what but that's not what I heard at all.
The language he used was extremely vague. It *could* be loosely interpreted as supportive of natural kratom leaf but it could also be the opposite. When he said "a lot of people are asking for it" who did he mean? Those of us who are in favor of kratom or those who aren't? And what is "it" that they are asking for? When he said he is looking to get it approved, what did *that* mean? Does he mean pharmaceutical approval? Does he mean it in a straightforward regulatory sense?
When politicians say things like they are "going to take a hard look at it" that is often the beginning of restrictions, enforcement, scheduling-talk so I am not immediately going to assume that this is a good thing for natural kratom. What does everyone think? Am I being extra pessimistic or what?

@r_kratom
my experience taking for 10 years and I managed to lower my tolerance
I've been taking kratom daily since 2016, right before the DEA stuff went down. I had been meaning to try to lower my tolerance for quite some time so I decided to start recording every dose (how much I take and when) and found out I'm actually taking a bit less than I thought I was. I thought I was taking \~1oz per day but I actually take between 14-23 grams, usually around 20.
I've been recording my dosages for the past two months and it's made a huge difference in my tolerance. I would encourage everyone to do so. Use a scale, weigh your doses, and document them on your phone. Always take a deliberate amount, and it's better to round down than up. Don't just dump powder on a scale and say "Yeah, that's good." I often will decide to take 2 grams but if I dumped in 1.7 grams I'd just take that, but if I weighed 2.1 grams, I would ALWAYS remove some to make it what I planned to take or less. Doing this, I think, is what has lowered my tolerance because in the past I was often more lazy with dosing.
The main reason I take kratom is for sad ideation. I take small amouts throughout the day (dosages of 1-2.8 grams every \~2 hours just so I don't enter withdrawal). At night I take more as needed and when I have episodes of not happy ideation that's when I take between 8-10 grams. I do consider myself a recreational taker of kratom however. Small doses don't really do much of anything for me anymore beacuse of my tolerance, but they keep me out of withdrawal. (I also do think they give me a bit of energy but nothing like when I first started taking it.) Kratom is a lifesaver for me. The large doses kil my ideation and make me feel relaxed and at peace. Unlike other substances, there's no comedown and no negative effects besides the dependency.
The other day I was experience the aforementioned symptom and took 10 grams of kratom + 3 grams of stem and vein (spread over an hour) and I got incredible effects lasting 4.5 hours. In fact it built up and peaked at the 4 hour mark. It was so strong that I got a headache/migraine from it for the first time in years. Keep in mind 10 gram is my limit on the most I take at once, but I decided to add the 3 grams of stem and vein because it's very weak and I was just curious what kind of effects I'd get (and desperate.) I felt amazing after taking it. I waited a few days and took 8 grams and same thing happened to a lesser extent (pleasant sympotms but less intense and without headache/migraine.) I took the 8 grams at 9:30pm and it's currently 1:15am and I didn't even feel the need to dose until I remembered I haven't dosed in almost 5 hours. So yes, my tolerance is successfully lowered. My plan is to continue documenting my doses, lowering them a bit every few weeks, and seeing where it leads me.
It's not perfect but kratom keeps me off medications that are much stronger and are more destabilizing for me, and has kept me off real opioids for the past 10 years.
If I had to give advice based on my experience:
\- Follow my instructions with regards to dosing. (Take deliberate amounts and round down.)
\- Never take two "large" dosages in a day. (A "large" dose being one that gives you strong opioid-like effects.) Kratom doesn't work like other opioids where you can just keep taking it. Once you get those strong effects, you hit a ceiling. Trying to force it again will ruin your tolerance and make you highly constipated.
\- Stay hydrated, sprinkle electrolytes in your water.
\- Be aware kratom affects other pathways and can interact with other medications like guanfacine. (In theory. Talk to your doctor about this.)
Signed,
Toss and Wash King

What alternatives are there?
I'm from CT.
CT made kratom a freaking schedule 1 substance. I don't know what to do. I had a few pain killers from my dentist but I'm almost out of those too. What alternatives are there? I loved kratom. It helped me kick a heavy alcohol habit. Now I'm back to drinking.

When do withdrawals hit?
It's been over 24 hours since I haven't had kratom and been using it daily since 2020 but a few times a week since 2014. Typically I use 9GPD spaced over two doses I weened myself to 7GPD then one dose a day. I'm not having any withdrawal other than agitation but if I keep myself busy it's not noticeable.
I'm curious how long I can go now.
I always got top tier kratom from very reputable vendors.

Why does kratom not effect me?
My first experience with kratom was a drink that was pretty strong I think, I forget the brand, when I had a few sips I took a break and I felt super energetic and when I finished it I felt super sedated as expected, but a few months pass ane I get some powder but it doesn't really work, I've tried white maeng da, white thai, and yellow gold, I've been trying to feel the energy as my first few sips but I've had no luck so far, I've tried 1gram, 2 grams and 4 grams of the powder but not even a sedating effect, what do I do I got it online from a site people recommend, did I get a bad batch or am I doing it wrong? So far I've only taken it by doing the toss and wash

I've been taking kratom for nearly a decade now
I take the pure leaf, in capsules, not the extract. I can count on one hand how many times I've ever taken the extract, and I believe that shit is way too strong to just sell otc. The regular kratom, on the other hand, I've never had any bad reactions to, even when I went cold turkey and stopped taking it for a year. I take kratom most days to help with my anxiety, some days I skip it and the only side effect I've ever noticed is being slightly more anxious and on edge. The only thing that helps my anxiety the same way kratom does is thc, but I can't always consume that and risk using too much and not being under the influence. With the amount of kratom I take, I never feel 'high' or 'out of it', I just feel calmed down.
All of that being said, I live in a state that is about to ban kratom. I've called and emailed my representatives to tell them how long I've taken kratom and how helpful it has been for me, but I suppose that wasn't enough. I'm less worried for myself, and more worried about those in this state that have been taking it for chronic pain, or to get off harder drugs. I'll be fine; irritable, but fine. I'm not worried about withdrawal as I don't use a large amount or the extract, but other people won't be so fine.
I used to keep my kratom use very quiet, afraid of any assumptions or judgements, but the past couple of months I just can't keep my mouth shut when I hear someone talking negatively about it, because regular kratom helps more than it harms.
(Also, as a side note, I've been routinely going to doctors since I've been taking kratom, and every time my blood work and everything else has been A+)

real quick question I been using kratom every day for 7 or 8 years I recently started taking less kratom maybe 8-10 grams a day but I picked up drinking on top of it when I cut my dose in half about 6 months ago and I got a real problem I never seen I pee blood sometimes is this from mixing them or should I get checked never had a problem out of kratom I never got up to 30-50 gram a day or anything but I probably drink anywhere from half a fifth to a whole of Captain Morgan with the boys every Friday and it seems pretty weird I only see the slight amount of blood on the weekend never from kratom alone I'm just wondering if it's from mixing them because Im too young to have health problems and Im having a hard time believing it's kratom a couple years ago I was an alcoholic until I switched to kratom and recently I started drinking with my friend on the weekend I'm just wondering if it's from mixing or what

Professionalism in Advocacy and Testimony
Hopefully no one throws tomatoes at me for saying this...
But we all need to dress well, speak well, keep our cool, and if giving video testimony, clean our rooms.
I am growing tired of seeing excellent turnout for in person testimony and a huge number of video testimonies, and seeing people dressed like slobs, looking messy, having unmade beds, wearing hats, shaven/groomed poorly, and surrounded by clutter if they appear by/submit a video. Please know I am not personally judging you, I look like a hobo as I type this in an unmade bed next to a pile of week old clothes that need a wash, but I'm not testifying at the moment.
It is damaging our efforts. Unfortunately we need to meet these legislators on their terms. Is suit and tie best or a female equivalent best? Sure, but I understand many of us cannot afford that. For those of us that can't, at the very least find something with a collar, maybe sleeves too. Don't roll up in sandals. Go to a clean area of your home if you testify on video (if you have no home or car, walk somewhere that isn't by the side of the road).
We also should probably refrain from "war stories" (tales of extreme addiction tales from the past) and how good kratom makes us feel (cause let's be real, at the right dose and strain it can be very euphoric). Anti-kratom legislators and people on the fence don't need to be imagining kratom in the same category as hard drugs.
We all know that we are right, and we also know that the way we dress doesn't have an impact on the validity, cogency, and soundness of our arguments! But, and big but, legislators are allowed to be as fallacious and illogical as they want! They don't follow the rules of morality and logic.
One of us can testify, write them, submit video testimony, protest, etc. and demand that the sky is blue, but if we do it wearing Cookie Monster pajama pants and acting too casual, they will argue that the sky is red just to spite us.
I really hate to sound like such a snob because y'all should see me right now looking like a gremlin typing this when I haven't even showered today, but I imagine you get my point.
Just my thoughts. This is not targeting anyone or saying that anyone's testimony or advocacy has been useless or unwanted. I appreciate each and everyone of you that saved Iowa and SC, and everyone that tried to save the rest tooth and nail. However, going forward, we must do our best.
These are just little things I am speaking of but in the Age of the Internet with constant onslaught of news and social media, people tend to judge by appearances and manners of speaking.
Please do not take this as me judging any of you. I am telling you that the legislators are and will always be judging you and to give them the least possible ammunition. Consider each moment of advocacy or testimony an "away game". Should we have to act like we are playing on someone else's turf in our own states/nation? Absolutely not, but what we should ideally have to do vs. what we actually do have to do are different in reality. We need to speak their language and play their stupid little games.
It's a small sacrifice to pay to keep our medicine. I hate wearing a damn tie but I will if I means not doing so may take my God-given rights away.
With sincerity,
\- D

Does anyone have tips for consuming kratom (toss and wash) that doesn't make a mess? Whenever I use a Ziploc bag, the zipper eventually gets clogged with kratom and doesn't seal completely so it ends up leaking and making a mess everywhere. A jar isn't easy to carry around/is heavy. Advice?
Before you tell me to stop toss and washing, it's my preferred route and I don't want to change it.
Dissolving kratom in a liquid isn't great for me because it eventually gets cold and I hate drinking cold kratom liquid. It also spoils
I don't like capsules because they never seem to hit as hard
So.... Any ideas for a better way to contain powder for toss and wash? I sometimes get kratom powder on my stuff and it's not easy to clean
Ideas? Tia!

I could really use some support right now Kratom/Naltrexone landed me in ER w Benzos
I take 4 Green Maeng Da Capsules in the morning every morning. I also take Adderall for narcolepsy, Prozac, wellbutrin, Labetalol and vitamins. I know, that sounds like a lot.
I take the Kratom to help with narcolepsy. I take approximately 12-15 capsules over the span of the day but I space them all out by several hours. I was recently prescribed Naltrexone (50mg) with wellbutrin at aid in weight loss. My provider knows about my Kratom usage.
Yesterday, I took my Adderall/kratom at 7am. Then at 11:45, I took the rest of my meds including my first dose of .25 milligrams of naltrexone (NOT naloxone). Within 15-20 minutes I was sweating, but freezing, shaking, paranoid, shitting my brains out, nauseous, more profuse sweating, the most horrific, intense dreadful anxiety and panic I’ve even experienced in my life, body restlessness and tremors that made me feel like I was losing my mind, I’d move to accommodate the urge but nothing helped. The works. I thought maybe I had accidentally doubled up on my adderall and taken two instead of one and it was causing some pretty nasty symptoms of over amping. I thought to myself “well, okay Adderall burns out of my system pretty quickly within about 4 hours so I’ll wait this shit out until it starts to die down.”
4-5 hours into this hell, I was writhing in absolute misery in my bed, sweating buckets and groaning thinking it was just anxiety and panic from the Adderall. I felt so sick. I’ve had chemically induced panic attacks before, so I knew what was happening to me, but they’d never lasted this long or ever were this intense. I couldn’t stay still, my legs felt like fire ants were crawling all over inside them. After about 6 hours and no end in sight and new worsening chest pain, I asked my husband to take me to the emergency room.
I get to the ER and they hook me up to an EKG and do labs. I knew they could see all my meds on my chart and I didn’t tell them about the kratom use. In that moment, I didn’t even think about the kratom use. I was fixed on the idea that it was too much Adderall. I was there for hours and they finally gave me fluids to flush out my body and a 1mg Ativan tablet to take by mouth and an rx for 1mg klonopin tablet if it doesn’t resolve. Told me to go home and drink a ton of water.
I am extremely sensitive to sedating drugs so I take half the Ativan, no relief. I take the other half an hour later. Still no relief. Usually I’d be rendered unconscious for the foreseeable future with that running through my veins. My restlessness was still so severe I took some magnesium glycinate to help relax my muscles and then took a warm epsom salt bath to see if that would calm things down. The bath was wonderful and gave me so much relief I instantly fell asleep. My husband is a literal angel because he sat by my side the entire time and kept and eye on me, poured warm water on my shivering body, wrapped me up in a towel and dried me while I trembled, and told me how beautiful I was and that everything was going to be okay.
That night, my sleep was shit. Lots of weird dreams and lots of jolting awake, still buzzing and anxious, but I’d quickly fall back into unconsciousness.
This morning, I woke up still buzzing restless and panicked. So I took .25 (1/4 of the original dose prescribed) of the klonopin around 10am. I was afraid to take any of my meds when I woke up, but I knew I’d feel worse if I started to have SSRI withdrawals, so I took my Prozac, Wellbutrin, vitamins, labetalol, 1/2 my prescribed adderall dose (despite ChatGPT’s protests) and my usual 4 kratom capsules. I thought maybe it’d help me feel better to regain some normalcy.
It wasn’t until later this morning when I was looking up adderall overdose that I started to look up interactions of adderall with naltrexone. None. None of my medications interacted negatively with naltrexone. Except one… I typed in naltrexone and kratom and realized what I had been going through. It wasn’t an overdose, it was precipitated
🚨 OHIO KRATOM ACCESS — THIS IS THE QUESTION RIGHT NOW
Ohio is actively shaping kratom policy that will decide whether natural plain leaf kratom stays available under regulation or gets restricted under broad classification rules.
Most people still don’t realize how early this stage is — and how much it matters.
At the center of this conversation is something pretty simple:
Natural plain leaf kratom and synthetic or highly concentrated derivatives are not the same thing. When they get treated as one umbrella category, the real-world differences in use and impact can get lost in the policy.
And for many people, this isn’t abstract at all! In fact it's very objective and human.
It’s daily life — managing chronic pain, mobility limitations, anxiety, and trying to stay as independent and active as possible.
A large portion of consumers are middle-aged and older adults, people simply trying to maintain quality of life and function day to day.
There are an estimated 300,000 kratom consumers in Ohio. Most are not extreme cases — they are ordinary people trying to get through life with a little more stability and comfort.
This is not about extremes. It’s about regulation vs prohibition.
Most people agree on the basics: • safety standards
• clear labeling
• age limits
• reasonable regulation
The real question is how Ohio chooses to draw the line — and whether access stays open under regulation or gets pulled into overly broad restrictions.
💬 JUST A HUMAN MOMENT HERE:
If you’ve ever been busy, tired, or overwhelmed, this is one of those situations where a small action actually matters more than it feels like it should.
Taking a couple minutes to send a short email or make a quick call is enough to put your voice into the process.
Even one message counts.
Ohio Republicans involved in health and regulatory committees and Senate leadership — respectful regulation-focused outreach is more effective with current legislative leadership in Ohio:
obrien@ohiosenate.gov; shuffman@ohiosenate.gov; tjohnson@ohiosenate.gov; smanchester@ohiosenate.gov; kroegner@ohiosenate.gov; mromanchuk@ohiosenate.gov
Ohio House contacts connected to agriculture/health/regulatory matters and Republican leadership:
rep82@ohiohouse.gov; rep1@ohiohouse.gov; rep51@ohiohouse.gov; rep61@ohiohouse.gov; rep89@ohiohouse.gov; rep84@ohiohouse.gov
Please stay respectful and push for regulation, testing, labeling, age restrictions, and consumer protection — not prohibition.
☎️ CALLS:
Ohio Senate: (614) 466-8083
Ohio House: (614) 466-3350
Ask for listed members and leave a short message supporting regulation rather than prohibition.

Quick message: “I am an Ohio resident asking you to oppose blanket bans and support responsible regulation of natural plain leaf kratom.”
Thank you very much for taking the valuable time out of your day and reading this. Is a natural plain leaf Kratom consumer myself, at 63 it has given me my life back. Kratom has been a godsend. In my opinion God created this botanical for humanity to use in a beneficial and responsible manner.
If plain leaf kratom has helped you or anyone you know and love or care about please just take a moment. I am an Ohioan, but the cause for plain kratom has become something much bigger with much more at stake than I ever imagined when I first started advocating. You all have renewed my faith in humanity 💚 🌿l

Kratom is more illegal than cocaine and heroin in my country (Australia)
I find it absolutely ridiculous. I'm not going to comment on how much kratom I have for legal reasons (pretty much because of this).
In Australia, kratom is Scheduled 9, the highest scheduling a drug can get. This is a class of drugs that are meant to have: proven harm to individual and society, and no medical benefit whatsoever.
Cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin, are all schedule 8 because they do have some instances of medical use. This is insane. LSD is also schedule 9.
Our law enforcement barely even know what it is so it would be hard to get caught with it on you in public, but our border security are very good. Basically I could get trafficking and distribution charges literally just for having my personal use supply.
