I saw online that peppermint interacts with k opioid receptors so would it be comparable at all to kratom? And if not does it have any psychoactive effect at all? Sorry if this was a dumb question. Thanks have a good day!

Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act | AKA Advocacy Day
I am curious what everyone's thoughts on this are? It is a pretty short read -

My overall impression is that this bill seems solely to protect distributors and importers. It seems to set up a lot of blanket statements that prevent future action being taken against kratom. The only mention of "consumer" is in the title of the bill and no where in the bill itself.
I am all for keeping kratom legal, however this bill seems to be very misguided in my personal opinion when it comes to 'protecting consumers' the only protection it would provide would be availability - but no guidelines on potency, age restrictions, etc.
If we compare this to Florida's state Kratom Consumer Protection Act :

This appears to be much more aligned with actually protecting the consumers over protecting the industry. I'm not saying this bill is perfect, but it appears to be a better framework for actually protecting consumers.
Now my jargon speak isn't the best so maybe there is some wording in the federal bill that I am missing out on - or maybe at the federal level it wouldn't go into as much detail as the state side bill?
I had recently signed up for the advocacy day through the American Kratom Association as I am within driving distance - and in the request for meeting it stated that I would specifically like to speak about Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act. Upon reading it fully through it seems very disconnected from the sensible legislation that we see in Florida's bill.
I am not sure if I should withdrawal / recuse myself from participating in this meeting. While I do want to advocate for scheduling of 7OH under the Controller Substances Act, and I do want to speak up to protect kratom as a whole, I genuinely do not agree with the federal bill as proposed.
I support the intent of the Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act insofar as it protects access to natural leaf kratom and prevents inappropriate federal overreach. However, if it is going to be called a consumer protection act, it should include or direct the creation of baseline consumer protections: age restrictions, batch testing, contaminant limits, labeling standards, mitragynine and 7-OH disclosure, serving-size guidance, and a clear distinction between traditional kratom leaf products and concentrated extract products of any kind - including mitragynine and 7-OH.

Just placed my first Kratom order
I like to drink alone and play video games specifically rocket league I’m addicted to rocket league. Coming off my alcohol binge and I tilted my rank so bad so I’m not drinking unless it’s to be social.

Took 4g of kratom tea for the first time tonight.
I didn’t really feel much from 2.5–3g before, so I decided to try 4g now. Mainly wanna chill, game a bit, listen to music and have a relaxed evening.
A few questions for experienced users:
Is 4g considered a strong dose for tea?
How long until the peak usually hits?
Is gaming enjoyable on kratom for you guys?
What should I expect if I only had mild effects from lower doses?
Any tips to avoid nausea?

Several years ago I took a too large dose at the advice of a friend who dosed much larger than I. I was super nauseous the rest of the day until I was able to make myself be less nauseous. Is that feeling going to happen today too??

Kratom vs vyvanse
So I take vyvanse 50mg everyday. I left my vv at home today accidentally otw to work. I can have someone bring it to me. But then I realized I could also try white strain kratom ( recommended by chat gpt) for increases focus ,alertness productivity etc. how does low dose white kratom compare to vv / how does it not compare. For context first time I took any kratom was this past Wednesday night 6 pills of green malay spread out with 2 pills every 1.5-2 hours....So should I try the white kratom or have someone bring me the vv and just wait till then .

My experience with white vs green vein
I’ve been using white vein 2x a week for a few months now but decided to switch to green last week (white borneo to green malay). I tried Red early on and found it to be weak, but maybe just because of that particular batch. I really didn’t think I’d actually notice a difference between white and green, but I did.
The green did indeed feel more balanced, had a smoother/slower come up, longer peak, and the effects wearing off seemed to be smoother as well, with no noticeable crash like I’d get from white. The white vein comes on sharply/quickly, the peak is shorter, and the come down is also less smooth, leading to a crash similar to caffeine.
I was also able to take a relaxing mid-day nap for a couple of hours, which I struggle to do with white vein, because the stimulating effects of it tend to keep me awake into the evening. With green vein, I felt it would enhance whichever activity level I chose, allowing me to be either more stimulated or more relaxed. Green is hands down my new fav.

Fiber reminder
If you are an American, you’re probably not getting enough, and taking this plant is going to increase that need if you’re consuming the powder and not making a tea out of it.
There’s plenty of posts here about people not feeling “regular “ and often it can be fixed by just incorporating more fiber in your diet.
Throw some chia seeds and ground flax seed into a bit of yogurt or breakfast cereal; take a scoop of Metamucil daily; eat an apple or two; smash a bowl of steamed broccoli (you can even be unhealthy and cover that shit with cheese or ranch or whatever topping if you want). Also don’t be afraid to drink water, you’re literally made of a bunch of it.
By doing this, I no longer even have to use any sort of OTC bowel movement medication.

crystals in powder -- best guess?
TLDR: tried a product for the 1st time, found crystals. Reordered. No crystals in the same. Company said without "photographic evidence" they can't possibly suggest what that could have been. Alarming word choice, but do any of you have a serious guess? I didn't know it was not how it was supposed to be until I reordered and things were different.

I got two bags of Super Maeng Da Red 3%+ MIT powder from one of the bigger sites. No "enhanced" or other labeling, besides the "super" and the MIT. They had that specific strain on sale and it was my first time trying it. When I got it, I noticed black or dark green square crystals in the powder that did not dissolve. They glistened. Like sugar. And sat in the bottom of my mug. It was my first time using this kind of powder, so I thought this must be what makes it more potent. Except when I reordered the same thing after going through both of those bags, none of the new bags had any crystals.
Soooo. I wrote the company asking what it might have been and about third party testing. And the company didn't respond.
I tried again, after a few weeks, and when they responded to that, they only answered about the testing. Super reassuring boilerplate/copypasta. Very florid verbiage. When I asked, again, about the crystals, they waived their hands because I had no "photographic evidence." Their words. No questions to help identify, no suggestions for what it might have been. No concern for either their product or for a long-term customer (years. I have bi-monthly orders going back years with them.) Just asking for pics regardless of my what I'd said about it being a first time, and telling me to take pics if it happens again.
I could not have known I needed to reach out because that was my FIRST time trying that product. It was only when I reordered I would find any difference. I think it's weird they have provided no insight what the crystals might have been. They know their product line? They boast they take pride in offering the most up to date education and information possible on various topics. They say it's important that our customer base has all of the tools they need to understand everything they can. But they didn't even respond when I first wrote, then asked nothing except for pics and said they couldn't possibly know what that could have been? Not even a guess? Without "evidence".
Lesson learned.
I can't possibly continue trusting product from a company that has offered no assurance what I consumed even MIGHT be, given my description, and it sounds like any testing and QC is bogus. But can any of you offer an informed guess at what those crystals might have been? Googling kratom extract and kratom crystals just produces packaged products and omg are there thousands of those. Meanwhile it's back to the niche brands for me.

I have tried kratom white and Kratom Green from 2g up to 4g and it makes me feel tired and not stimulated like people say low doses do. I barely feel anything at all on it. Is this normal? I was expecting at least something like a cup of coffee but even coffee feels much stronger to me

Hello good people. I'll point to the title to frame where I'm coming from. No, I didn't birth a baby addicted to kratom. I was just curious on the differences between caps, tabs, and powder. Now, my first interaction with kratom was through feel free from the local liquor store. It gave me a bright eye energy and I felt great throughout the work day. So I bought some pure leaf green maeng tablets from super and I've enjoyed the strength it's given me to carry on throughout the day.
Now I'm just curious as for the caps and powder. Are they stronger or faster acting? Can you you make your own gummies with the powder form? And I'm not sure if it's allowed here, but can anyone recommend places for procurement that are reputable, I've only used super.
I'm actually really happy to have found kratom. I spent all my 20s and early 30s chasing the bottom of a bottle. Now, I'm more physically fit because I've maintained consistency in the gym and I have been able to not fall back into drinking since I've made kratom a part of my daily routine. I want to recommend it to my coworkers but no one seems to know what it is. Everyone just drinks or smokes weed, which I personally think is far worse. Excuse my rambling, but I just wanted to see what other people are doing and find recommendations. TY.

Balancing the Effects
Hello all! I wanted to share some information I have pieced together. So as far as herbal medicine, different plants have different energetics. Usually based on their flavor profile. For instance spicy flavors are warming. Sour flavors (think lemonade, berries etc) are typically cooling. Some herbs are very drying. Like tea (camellia sinensis) if you over brew tea, the astringent tannins it releases will literally pucker and dry out your mouth on contact. All of that to say… kratom is an extremely drying, cooling plant. Which is why it can help people with heat excess conditions, like IBS. It saved my life on that years ago. This also explains why excessive consumptions can dull digestion, make you just want to be stagnant and chill (especially higher doses) and why it can dry you out, leading to constipation and headaches more often. So what you can do is combine balancing herbs to kind of harmonize the “formula”.
I consistently put cinnamon or rosemary with Kratom to warm it up, increase absorption and stimulation. I also consume lots of moistening plants, such as plantain or marshmallow root. You can play around with it, just look into warming and moistening herbs and start taking them as consistently as you take your kratom and see if you notice a difference. It has been a game changer for me. Sorry for the long winded post. Hope you found it helpful in some way :)

Other pungent herbs you could use would be ginger, turmeric, most aromatic mints, any of the chai spices, spicy chilis
Moistening herbs would be things like seaweed, chia or flax seeds, aloe vera gel or juice and so on and so forth.

This Thursday there is a meeting, but they are not accepting public comments and it is a closed session. Next week I will be coming out with the information on the hearing where people can show up in person. I will also be giving information as soon as public comment is opened up again. This is sneaky what they are doing. Usually public comment would run to whenever it starts and finish whenever it ends, no closed comments in between that time. Safest option?
I'm not a daily user, just use for pain or a rough day. I've been using powder but recently heard the heavy metal concentration can be alarmingly high and is often not tested. Tried mitragynine extracts but the effects don't last long in comparison. What do you think is the safest option?

Is it possible for agmatine sulfate to kill kratom euphoria and effects forever/permanently.
I heard some people on reddit say taking agmatine sulfate, even for a little bit, killed there feel good effects from kratom and even other drugs permanently forever even stopping for a period of time. Is this true? Most places say that those blunting effects only last a few days and at most a week. So I'm not really sure that this is true, but it is interesting to me. I'm wondering because I'm want to try to use it sometimes, but if it could possibly actually so that I think I would pass on taking it, lol.

I was at the Philly Hearing. Heres the truth .
We are dealing with a situation where the person who wrote this city ordinance does not want to hear anything Pro Kratom or cannabis. Every time one of us spoke that was Pro kratom, she look like she had a constipation face on, started playing on her phone, or spoke with the security guard behind her. She has no regard for people with chronic pain or people who are consuming Kratom for addiction issues.
The part that hurt the worst was the amount of people who showed up to help in philly. There were two total consumers there, I was one of them. There was one more, but they got outed as a Kratom vendor during their testimony so they no longer count as a consumer on the record. This really hurt me, I've been fighting for this plant since 2015, going where I can, writing and talking to legislators going to DC etc. For a little while me and my wife were some of the biggest supporters of the advocacy efforts. For nobody to show up for me in our time of need really hurts.
None of the amendments in the city ordinance help us at all, one of the amendments holds off part of the bill to november, but not the part about Kratom and cannabis. They also changed a little bit of wording in the line item that mentions the FDA Food Drug and cosmetic act. That line does not help us at all either. So basically we are stuck in a situation where unless we get a bunch of consumers to come in person and give their testimony we are going to lose.
They want this ordinance passed by June 11th, because that's when they go on a recess. The author of this ordinance does not want to amend this bill because she says it will cost too much money to put any kind of regulations in place to save plain leaf. This bill will not affect online, but it will put a in place in the biggest city in Pennsylvania and make it very hard to enact State legislation such as the Kratom consumer protection act. This will also open the door for neighboring states to take action and neighboring cities. So please, show up for the next meeting if you are a Philadelphia consumer or surrounding area. We really need all the support we can get. The agenda for next week will not be announced until Tuesday because of the Memorial Day holiday, but from everything that I've gathered and speaking with legislators it looks like it is going to be on the agenda for a full committee meeting on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in building 400. Anyone know what little white/tan orange bits might be in my caps?
See title. Had opened one up to see what I thought was maybe a little piece of stem? Honestly I’m in the dark here. The caps all have these little hard tan/light orange pieces in them. Hard to see but definitely noticeable. Also hard to show without pictures but they’re about the size of a pen tip and lower and each cap has them. Left orangish-clay colored residue when crushed. I’m in the dark on this one.

Just starting and I’m not sure what I’m doing.
I want to use kratom because I had a bad opioid addiction and I’ve been feeling such bad cravings lately that I’ve almost put myself into probably stupid situation to try and obtain opioids. I have not. I got some brand from a smoke shop I forgot the name of and it said it’s a “trainwreck” strain I believe.
I thought I’d give kratom a shot but I have a headache from it. I think it’s from the kratom at least.
The capsules I got are .5 grams and I took five. I was feeling alright at first but I feel a little nauseous and light headed now. Should I lower the dosage? I don’t really feel any sort of high which is a bit of a let down but my head does just hurt.

Philadelphia Next Steps
So I do not have official information to share on hand, but I have heard that the de facto kratom ban will have another hearing this upcoming Thursday. I am making this post without the official time and place, because if we don't find out until Wednesday, that is just not enough time to get the word out. I want people to be aware and ready for the official announcement.
For those unaware, the bill is designed like a regulation bill, however there is key wording regarding FDA approval that does ban all types of kratom. Essentially, the bill is requiring any kratom sold to be approved by the FDA, but it references the drug approval process which kratom will never pass. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements. Any muti vitamins, fish oil, ashwaganda, turmeric, etc. are all legally sold under the DSHEA act. The FDA has the burden under this act to show a dietary supplement is harmful in order to remove it from the market place.
So the bill in Philly while written as regulation, will ban all kratom in the city. At the hearing last week we did have good testimony, but we were missing a big outpouring of consumers. The council members seemed to be more dismissive of lobbyists, as they see them as just advocating to get paid. I really think if enough consumers show up, we can get this language changed.
The newest strategy seems to be these local bans, and Philadelphia is a major city. If we don't defeat this one, I'm worried of the precedent it sets.
