Red Leaf Maeng Da helps more with my social anxiety? Or placebo effect?
Title.
I’ve taken green leaf maeng da for a very long time, but decided why not give red leaf a go. I’m unsure if this is a placebo effect or what, but after 2 weeks on red leaf maeng da, one thing I notice is my social anxiety is tremoundsly better. I feel more social, words come out more fluently, compared to green.
I take about 2-3g each time I dose, so I’m not necessarily taking really high doses but is red leaf known for this? Or is there really no difference between red and green leaf. Thank you!

Question for people with alcoholism who quit alcohol and now use kratom: what are the pros and cons? Do you find yourself better off using kratom everyday instead of drinking?
For context ive used kratom on and off for years. But my drug of choice is alcohol for 20 years and it has almost killed me multiple times over, I've been to multiple programs and counseling and therapy but always end up relapsing after a few weeks or months.

I dont like alcohol i just like that it makes me feel "normal" and gives me relief. This past month I went through alcohol withdrawal with the help of valium thankfully, but after detoxing I started using kratom as a crutch. I am definitely dependent on it these past 2 weeks. From my point of view, at my current use around 8 grams per day it is the lesser evil compared to alcohol. Because if I take too much kratom I just feel sick, I dont black out like its alcohol so I would consider that a pro. My only concern is that I am using it as a crutch and have been compulsively re-dosing from morning to night, same as I would if I were drinking alcohol.

I guess what im trying to figure out is those of you who traded alcohol for kratom, how do you manage your use and not depend on it to completely replace alcohol? What are your pros and cons?

Quitting at 1 Kilo a Month
I admit I have abused this plant entirely. Substance use runs in my family, I always feel like I need to reach for something, and quitting kratom won’t take that away. Kratom got me off and kept me off of much worse things and it makes me so sad what they are doing.
I live in Kentucky and I travel through Indiana and Tennessee almost every day. It scares me to death to think I could be thrown into prison for having it. In my opinion whether it’s criminal or not should be decided on a federal level, and it be up to the state if it can be sold in stores and possessed, and possession should only lead to confiscation if it isn’t federally illegal, not prison…
I’ve been taking a kilo/month, 250g/week, a hefty spoonful every two hours, for about a decade. I tried to quit a few years ago ct and I only made it a week before I caved because it hadn’t gotten any better—I couldn’t sleep, I constantly felt like I was about to cry, anhedonia, the mental part was the worst aspect, I don’t even know how to describe, anhedonia doesn’t fully explain it.
Does anyone have any advice for me? Aside from IN and TN, it will be illegal in KY in June of next year I believe. It feels right now like I could never be free of it, but I don’t hate it, I just hate my addict brain and the government.

Strains and tolerance
Hi all!
Personally I’ve always noticed a difference between how the colors affect everything differently! Green and white give me a better mood/slightly more energy while red has literally never done anything for me.
I always take maeng da of whatever I take. I’ve always wondered if you switch between the colors would that help reduce tolerance at all?? Always looking for ways to keep tolerance down other than the obvious don’t take it daily/taking breaks in general!

Who remembers Scott from sweetleaf?
In the early 2000’s when nobody knew about Kratom this man had the most amazing full spectrum tincture anyone has ever tried. I have been looking for something close to this for 20 years and have never found anything remotely close. He had aged Kratom that was used to make the cleanest full spectrum tincture anyone has ever made. He disappeared but man was he a hero. I didn’t know how lucky I was to have this back then but now I need it more than ever. Non habit forming and would take away your pain, give you clean energy and never cause nausea.

Who here stopped taking adderall for kratom for ADHD?
I was taking kratom to deal with my ADHD for so many years and I finally got on adderall at 42. It is a total game changer. It works way better than kratom for focus, energy, mood, motivation and organization.
I'm curious - has anyone gone the other way? Went form stims/adderall to kratom and have it work better for them?

Strongest strain/strains for a high dose daily user ? (120g a day)
Hi all,
So I have been using kratom daily for a while now, and my tolerance has shot up to the sky .
Before I mention my daily dose atm, I would like to make sure you guys understand that my body since à young age has always needed higher doses than usual to sedate myself.
Back when I had a benzo problem , even with no tolerance it would take me 70-100mg diazepam to feel a lil bit sedated. Just to give you an idea.
Right now daily, I am on a total of 120g of red Borneo kratom per day.
Yes I know, it’s a lot.
Yes I know, at this point it is probably addiction.
However my one reasonable deniability clause is that, I have attempted to just stop , cold turkey, and every single time, nothing bad ever happens , no anxiety, no cold sweats, appetite still there, sleep still there, etc etc. So I am not worried about stopping it(yes I do plan on stopping in a couple months for personal growth reasons)
Kratom for me, has saved my life, I am a poly addict, mainly because of my severe ADHD and mild autism. Basically my brain goes too fast for its own good, for years i battled this with substances that ended up harming me. With kratom? No harm done at all, every one of the professionals I have been seeing for the past couple years, if they haven’t seen me for a while, when they do they immediately say “wow, you look so healthy and alive ! “
So yeah kratom has been my savior, but I am taking extreme doses and I know that for sure.
So my question for you guys is:
Is there any other kratom that could work better for mental sedation and relaxation ?
Right now I am on red Borneo, I use this specific red strain as the others I have tried (red Bali , red maeng da) have extremely good sedation feelings, but I quite literally need double the dose of the Borneo to feel the same type of effects with those other red strains.
So borneo in a way is kinda like a strong (not as smooth sedation thats true, like the sedation is a bit strong and sometimes not as comfortable as the other red strains , but I need the best bang for my buck so I am sticking with Borneo unless someone recommends me different) not breaking the bank strain.
I have never tried another strain apart from red. As I heard they were all meant for more like productivity and energy, I am looking for that sedation and pain relief .
If anyone has anything to recommend, including tips on healthiest ways to stop (this would be useful in a couple months when I have to sober up completely for a new opportunity) I would greatly appreciate it .
Also if anyone knows how to potentiate the kratom so that I need less but still get the same effect, I would love to hear how.
The main reason for me doing this is :
1. I would like to find out if my daily dose is absurd and if I should look at tapering down (what would happen if I kept it up for a couple for months ?)
2. I currently spend around 300 a month on kratom and simply put, it’s a bit of pain in my budget, if I could lower it I definitely would (hence the question about stronger strains and stuff)

Hope you’re doing well! I’m from NY and just posted about some positive news because everything seems to be ban attempts anywhere. Anyway, in the most basic terms what is a KCPA? I thought once a state passes a KCPA we are in the clear but seems that even worth that legislation there are still ban attempts. G-ddamit any kratom alternatives so I can STOP worrying about bans and shit lol? Thank you!

Side effects I’ve not seen talked about
So recently sometimes I’ll get really itchy for hours and also have trouble starting a stream when taking a pee. I’ve not seen these talked about on here tho so just curious, those that also experience this, is it unavoidable and something that you just gotta deal with or does it get better over time?

I usually do capsules, bought some extract yesterday and just had a quick question.
I usually do just regular normal kratom capsules, I saw extract yesterday so I figured I'd try that. The guy at the store said it is a lot stronger than capsules and to take it easy on it. The tincture comes with a dropper too so that makes me think you need very little to get it to work? With capsules I normally take 4-5 grams and that amount works well for me. I don't even know where to start with the extract, is two whole droppers too much? Should I be shooting for more? Is the best way to do it by putting it with water?

Update on board of pharmacy in Ohio
As of 10:00 the second meeting started day 2 before summer break they haven’t released anything yet. It still goes back to figuring out guidance on the lawsuit and if they legally can even ban capsules.2 things will happen because legally they can’t drag this into July. The order expires tomorrow. A ban would come out of statehouse. Really watch today for an update but they might move forward on capsules but won’t touch the legal powder as of now. I could be wrong no news is good news today especially if they don’t release anything today

Who else thinks tossing and washing plain leaf kratom hits better and just is better all together than capsules?
I just always preferred powder most of time idk. With capsules sometimes I’ll literally just put up to 10 all at once into my mouth and wash it down. I have no idea why I can do that they’re pretty big too it’s weird lol. A good amount of the time though after doing that I’ll get painful acid reflux for 30 minutes to an hour. Never had acid reflux just toss and washing the powder.

Kratom withdrawal makes me feel dead inside
I’d like advice.
I recently decided that I want to quit kratom.
I generally take 6–10 grams per day, split into 3 doses.
If I skip a dose or try to reduce it, I have no energy, I feel unmotivated, and nothing interests me. If I meet up with my friends, I can only enjoy it while I’m under the influence of kratom; otherwise I can’t anymore. When it starts leaving my system, all I can think about is taking it again as soon as possible. I can’t seem to care about anything else.
I can only experience joy on kratom now.
Even before I started taking kratom, I had problems with feeling emotions, and that was one of the reasons I started using it. For the first time I felt like I was alive... I was energetic, motivated, full of desires and hopes, and I could enjoy and feel happiness much more, even about small things.
But I became dependent on it, and it became the center of my life. I feel like I can’t function without it.
By comparison, before kratom I partly felt as if I were emotionally dead.
Now, when I try to come off it and don’t get my usual dose, I feel completely dead, with a huge void inside me.
Has anyone else been through this? How long did it take to pass? What helped?

Is Anyone Else Concerned About The New AB1088 Amendments In California?
I went through the latest amendments to AB1088 and I have a lot of questions. How is this supposed to work in real life?! This is concerning😟
From what I understand it bans flavored kratom products completely and then limits kratom powder to something like 4-5 grams per package, basically a single serving size. On top of that there are alkaloid caps of 75 mg mit per package and fifty-seven hundredths of a milligram of 7oh. Wouldn't some natural kratom powder exceed that amount of 7oh?
If that’s accurate it seems like most of the normal sized kratom bags people buy now would no longer be allowed in California. It would basically turn everything into tiny single serve packets.
This seems like overregulation and it would completely reshape how kratom is sold there.
Am I missing something or is this really what the amendment is doing? And if it is, is there any actual pushback or organizing happening around it?

I attended today's Ohio Board of Pharmacy meeting. The Board appears to be moving forward with the proposed rule to schedule natural kratom and advance it through the rulemaking process.
This does not mean the rule is final, but it does mean the Board is continuing to pursue scheduling rather than withdrawing it.
Now is the time to stay involved, stay informed and act. Contact lawmakers, spread awareness, and encourage others to get involved.
The most important thing advocates can do right now is urge lawmakers to advance the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (SB 299 and HB 587) as an alternative to scheduling.
I will post contact information for key lawmakers in the comments below.
This is bad news but it's not over. There is still hope. We need to show as much public interest in the KCPA bills as possible to get them moving. We can fight this together!
