Ive suddenly started getting itchy from mid-high dose (9grams) never got it before that low, using 5 years 4 times a day.
So ya its so strange i never used to get itching this bad at only 9 grams, sometimes i would from like 12 grams. So im curious if anyone else has experienced this suddenly happening when it never used to? Im aware that kratom aswell as opioids do cause itching, but whats getting me is the fact it never used to do this so im just very confused. Any ideas why guys? Only thing i can think is that its late spring so mabey cause theres more allergens floating around.
One other question what is the best option to get rid of itching as far as some type of medication goes?

Almost no withdrawal
I’m honestly in disbelief how my body just pulled this off.
For the last 2 years, I’ve been a daily kratom user, averaging about 10–15 grams per day. Two days ago, I jumped straight from my usual 15g down to just a single 1 gram dose for the day.
I was bracing myself for absolute hell based on everything I've read here, but here’s how it actually went:
Day 1: I had some super mild withdrawal symptoms. Mostly just standard temperature dysregulation (feeling freezing cold one minute, sweating/hot the next) and some very mild RLS in the evening. It was annoying, but completely manageable.
Day 2, today: Literally nothing. I woke up feeling completely fine. No RLS, no chills, no brain fog, plenty of energy. It’s like my body completely skipped the withdrawal phase.
Has anyone else experienced this? I was taking the same consistent batches, so it’s not like I was accidentally taking weak leaf. Did I just win the genetic lottery with my opioid receptors, or is there a chance the delayed withdrawal is going to hit me like a truck in a few days?

Question about kratom on GA probation/liquid extract tests results specifically
I just had a court date yesterday (weed charges) and am having my first meeting with PO on Thursday morning. I’ve only taken kratom recently, a liquid extract specifically, and I keep reading horror stories of people getting false positives for fent or methadone. My kratom consumption has decreased significantly the last couple weeks and I’ve stopped completely today. I’m just horrified at fucking this up, I got a good deal, I’m not trying to blow it. Anyone have experience with kratom extracts in GA probation? I’ve heard other brands can be cross contaminated and that could be the problem, couldn’t find any specific info on the particular liquid extract I use and from what I know they’re pretty reputable. Thanks in advance

Upcoming Kansas Ban
Apparently July 1,2026 Kansas will be the latest added to this prohibition. Approx . Around 2015 I started taking regular kratom powder as a way to get off of painkillers , alcohol and to help with my mood and irritable bowel syndrome . However I let it get too far as far as consumption. Up until around December 2024 I was consuming a kilo of maeng da powder about every 3 months. Up until that December 2024 I had not tried any of the extracts or their varieties. That's when I started taking 7-*H tablets . Currently at about \~200mg a day. Been trying to ween (down from about 400 mg a day) Also I have a lot of pain ( ibs , need a hip replacement due to decayed bone due to no blood supply and anxiety sometimes.) anyone else here in the same Kansas situation? Update: Kratom is changing my life!
Hi everyone, so I posted a week ago this thread: Kratom just for partying on night every weekend? : r/kratom
One of the main reasons I wanted to use Kratom for nightlife is that I do like to go out a lot and dance, meet other people and I love latin music... but especially edm so go to a lot of raves but I do need the boost alcohol does, and not other hard drugs. However, although I didn't drink during the week but when I did drink... it was insane. At my mid 30's it was becoming a huge problem.
The big question was could I use Kratom for partying? So, after last week was actually amazing, this weekend Friday and Saturday I wondered if it would be the same effect or if it was just a novelty... nope. I can officially say this is it! I used the droplets on my soda water drink about 2-3 grams depends and the effect lasted 3-4 hours! I was once again smiley, dancing, relaxed and not once did I feel like drinking alcohol!
The biggest perks im noticing is the day after, waking up completely normal, rather than the insane hangovers for 2-3 days I would with alcohol. Money? My wallet isn't crying anymore! Note, I don't feel tempted at all to use it during the weekday, I'm uninterested but for going out? It's a godsend!
Honestly, I've been dealing with losing my mom 6 months ago and its been tough, alcohol really was making my life spiral out of control (though I've been fighting). On monday was her birthday and because I didn't go hard on booze last week, I was sad but actually got through it and stayed strong.
Overall, it took me busting my head and requiring 12 stiches to find something that will change my life for the best possible way and I couldn't be happier!

Careful Measurement of Liquid Products (Routine Use or Tapering)
Over the years I've been looking at ways to carefully measure intake or carefully taper liquid extracts or teas.
The solution I found is a scientific adjustable pipette. I use this one (Amazon, no affiliate link or financial relationship). I use the 1-10mL model. Other brands would work just as well. It can be tested by putting it into a graduated cylinder to verify it matches the readout. Read the directions on technique.
The real benefit is that it is adjustable, so you can set it to exactly how much you want it to draw. For me, I will draw 5x 10mL of my filtered tea concentrate that I make (100g/1000mL, actually using less acid now to keep the pH higher) that approximates around 5 grams equivalent (probably less in practice due to loss in process, but I've adapted to this).
When I tapered down for a medical test/procedure, and restarted use after. I would just click the wheel to subtract how ever much I was planning to taper down each day. I knew I needed to reach zero (or close) in 30-31 days, so each day I'd just turn the knob down and draw 5x whatever the readout was for each of my 4 servings.
Example, 50mL 4x/day reduced to zero in 31 days.

The drawback is that the heads (plastic tips) are probably proprietary and cost more than a typical ungraduated plastic pipette. These ones (Amazon link, no affiliate or financial relationship) however were pretty firm and didn't have a bulbous top, so I rinse them out and reuse one for a few days in this situation.
They also work for liquid extract shots, but some of the bottles are fairly narrow lipped so you just dump the bottle into a medicine cup to draw and pour it back into the bottle and put the bottle back in the fridge. It doesn't matter if you have to use partial bottles.
For example, a popular 8.8mL shot product could be tapered to zero in 88 days just by clicking the knob from 8.8 to 0.1 less down to zero each day, or 44 days turning it twice (-0.2mL/day), or 30 days turning it 3 times (-0.3mL/day)

California Update
Mac confirmed today that the California bill is dead for this year. It was pulled because the Senate agriculture chair was planning to amend the bill to ban all kratom, so the House sponsor decided not to even want to send it over. Unfortunately that means nothing is likely to change until next session. I'm not 100 percent sure on how kratom is doing in CA, are you guys allowed to purchase it or has everything started to run dry?

60 Minutes
In the latest Recap with Mac episode, Mac confirmed he has been reached out to by 60 minutes as they are going to be doing a kratom story. He said it's very preliminary so to not expect it until the fall. 60 minutes has also reached out to Patti Wheeler and Wendy Cahmberlin, both anti kratom advocates. Wendy is the leader of KDA.
With this and the recent New York times article, kratom is about to be in the spotlight harder than ever before. I'm sure everyone has noticed all the news stories popping up.
I think next year, we are probably not going to run into too many legislators who do not know what kratom is, but I worry they will be informed based on sensational news headlines. Mac did also say he's being reached out to by alot of news agencies so hopefully we will get some positive press as well.
What I'll say for everyone here, I am in a kratom advocacy group in South Carolina. We managed to reach out to 2 local news organizations so far and given interviews and the stories have come out very positive. I would challenge anyone here who wants to keep kratom legal to try and do the same.
The days of kratom going under the radar are over, and I expect almost every state to have some form of kratom legislation pending in 2027. We desperately need federal regulation.

Kratom and Blood Thinners
Any older, science-minded folks have experience with kratom and blood thinners? I developed a cancer-related clot last week and am now on Eliquis. I've read several studies that indicate kratom does not have blood thinning properties the way that kava does (farewell, my beloved kava), but that it can temporarily change your heart rate or blood pressure. I'm not worried about my heart rate or blood pressure - they're fine, and we know the clot was caused by my chemo port, so it is classified as a "provoked" clot.
I already have significant bone pain from bone mets, as well as the treatment for them (the treatment causes bone pain - kind of a Pyrrhic victory there). If I can no longer take kratom, and I'm not allowed ibuprofen, aspirin, or naproxen sodium, and since I cannot tolerate gabapentin, I'm going to have to start using more of the opiates that I've been prescribed since my 2020 diagnosis. I'd really rather not do that when an herbal alternative is available.
Because of the Reefer-Madness-type attack currently going on, I am not raising the issue of kratom with my oncologist/hematologist, even though I don't think they'd flag me as drug-seeking, since I've routinely turned down anything stronger than Percocet. Nonetheless, I am unwilling to try to explain the difference between natural leaf and synthetic, with all the misinformation being blasted to the 4 corners of the earth. I have always taken a very moderate dose, and I know that 3.5 gram dose of ground leaf once a day has never affected me (or my kidneys/liver) adversely (I get full blood panels done monthly or every other month). But obviously I want to proceed with caution, in spite of seeing articles saying it does not thin blood as kava does (even though the AI answer you see first is "yes it's a blood thinner". Sigh.) For the time being, I'm not taking it (and FWIW, I had no withdrawal symptoms since the day I stopped a week ago).
Anyone out there looked into this, or can any of you science guys give me a sense of kratom's effect on coagulation or very moderate use of it while on Eliquis?

MIchigan Senator Sam Signh heard town hall, talked Kratom.
So tonight the wife and I drove down to Lansing Michigan to sit in on a live town hall/community diacussion Senator Singh holds monthly. If you arent aware of who he is, Senator Singh is the #2 on the Michigan Senate committee for Government Operations and very senior for the majority party. This is the committee that currently has the Kratom prohibition bill for consideration. I asked about Kratom and he talked Kratom. Very supportive of keeping raw kratom legal but better regulated, for sure concerned about semi-synthetic and synthetic products more and more popping up and thinks the regulation for that likely needs to look different than raw product but doesnt seem at all supportive of prohibition. As this keeps developing Ill update what I find out but for now Michigan looks fairly safe at the moment.

Dead on arrival to any ban. They might still use DeWine to sign order I pray not but it’s possible/ the second thing is they do not know what they are talking about. Everyone should contact the offices and tell your story even tho it went good would be a PR blitz by stroking their ego and tell him that they did good at the hearing. But here’s where it is if they resend, they can come back in a later time. If they don’t, and they move through the process, it can never be rescheduled. So where we are in Ohio need meeting July 13 they are discussing the original synthetic order

I need your help for a break
Im trying to quit for a couple months and my dosage isn't even high (part of the problem is it isn't consistent and fluctuates a lot). I take like 2 or 2.5g in the morning and by 7pm I redose because I start feeling uncomfortable (I also have GAD and panic attacks become daily without it, exacerbated by withdrawals obviously).
Then there are days where I start with 3g and redose twice with something like 1.5 and 3 again or take almost 5g but rarely.
I need advice on how much and for how long to taper (let's take 2.5g 8am and 3g by 7pm as baseline) because I tried cutting one of the two doses entirely and I can't manage my work life: my legs feel like they weight a ton and anhedonia make cooking and chores impossible.
The toughest is the morning dose because it's work day dose but luckily I have Ativan and Klonopin so technically I could take them to sleep through it but the tolerance climbs so quick it would work for a couple nights.
When I was dosing even more moderately I put myself three times through withdrawal just to feel it and in 5 days I felt ok but needed loperamide for two weeks, this time though it's pretty bad and I live alone.

Does Kratom Help Others Fall and Stay Asleep?
Hello, I've been using kratom regularly over the last two years when I gave up alcohol. It wasn't daily until about a year and a half ago when I moved and had more stress with my living situation. Not sure how much I consumed daily but several table spoons in water through out the afternoon and before bed. I recently decided I would just deal with stress sans kratom because I have approx a $140 month habit (Ontario, Canada) which isn't bad, I just wanted to save.
What I am finding now is that even though I am more than a week off kratom I am having a LOT of sleep issues, only sleeping for like 3 hours basically. I have ADHD and taking kratom at bed time used to help me sleep 8-hours ish. I have been doing some helpful things for my sleep hygiene but could be better.
I am starting to feel unstable because of sleep deprivation. Should I go back to kratom? The other solution I see is going into nature for a few days with primitive style camping to reset my nervous system or taking ambien for a few nights maybe, I don't have immediate access to these options, and would have to wait several days for more kratom to ship as well. Thoughts and encouragement appreciated. Thank you!

So according to Mac in Ohio
We still need to be very vigilant in Ohio but the legislative oversight body told the board of pharmacy no is huge. This is my opinion. I haven’t talked to Mac yet. Unless DeWine signs an emergency action like the first one in December for natural leaf products that’s the only way it will be banned in Ohio. They might try to make it very hard on us. With restrictions. But the oversight board told them no so enjoy your fucking tea this morning. Drink a good cup of coffee go have a wonderful day and just be happy as my advice. But be watchful

Daily user for 8 years - managed to quit within a month of tapering
Anyone who lives in Tennessee like me, knows we only have a couple weeks before Kratom possession becomes a crime with a punishment up to 11 months 29 days in jail, and $2,500 in fines. Basically the same as possession of Marijuana.
I’ve been a daily use for 8 years, taking about 24-30 capsules per day of Kratom leaf (each capsule containing 500mg, regular leaf, not extract and I never have touched 7oh). Due to the ban, I had contemplated several avenues to take. I originally said fuck it, I live an hour from the KY border, I’ll drive there to get it, but ultimately decided to just quit which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Mentally and physically I depended on it for things from anxiety, depression, pain relief due to lupus, energy, the list continues.
What I wanna say to anyone in TN who finds themselves feeling hopeless having this leaf taken away from us, I’ve been completely off Kratom entirely for 3 months now, as a matter of fact I do no drugs. No alcohol, no caffeine even, no weed. For years I smoked weed, consumed Kratom, lots of caffeine, I was afraid I’d never be me without it. Let me tell you I was so wrong. Kratom doesn’t make you who you are, you make yourself who you are. As much as it sucks to leave something that helps you, I promise you, hope isn’t lost. I miss Kratom but I am so happy waking up and my day no longer revolved around my next dose. I can just be me. I don’t have to constantly think about taking Kratom or buying it or worrying over a ban, I’m just me again. Good luck my friends, if anyone is on the path to quitting due to these horrible bans, I promise you can do it and I promise it does get better.
Side note: I started drinking kava a few times per week as a “wind down” replacement, and that isn’t 1:1 but it helps. Good luck everyone.

People with Ohio questions...
Keep your eye out for ThaTeaBishhh's interview with Mac Haddow of the AKA today. The live stream just ended a few minutes ago and will be available soon.
Mac said JCARR has indicated that the Ohio Board of Pharmacy pretty much cannot ban natural kratom. While that response was directed at the emergency rule and the May 19th modification (4729:9-1-01.1), the same reasoning could potentially apply to the Board's separate mitragynine rule as well.
I asked specifically about the separate rule (4729:9-1-01.2) and Mac said additional legal actions could occur if the Board moves forward with attempts to ban natural kratom before November.
This is very encouraging news for Ohio advocates. 🙌 Support the AKA if you can.
