Keeping kratom in the car

I keep a bottle in my car, which is black with black interior. We’ve just been through a heatwave. Does this have an effect on the 750 mg pills?

Finasteride & Kratom

Do any guys here take finasteride and kratom together?

I’m unfortunately getting to the age where my hairline is starting to recede. I could always shave it and grow my beard out, but I figure I might as well try to save my hair while I still have it.

I have a dermatologist appointment tomorrow and I’m planning to ask about finasteride. From what I’ve read, finasteride and kratom are both metabolized by some of the same liver enzymes. Has anyone here taken both long-term? Did you notice any issues or did your doctor have any concerns?

Thanks in advance!

AKA Webinar on 7.7.26 @ 8pm EST

Dear Amazing Advocates,

The American Kratom Association hopes you had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend and a meaningful start to America’s 250th celebration. 🇺🇸

As our nation celebrates freedom, independence, and the rights of Americans to make choices for themselves and their families, the fight to protect kratom consumer freedom continues.

As you have likely heard, the Drug Enforcement Administration has announced a scheduling notice targeting synthetic and chemically manipulated products posing as kratom.

There is a lot to unpack.

This DEA action has major implications for kratom consumers, state legislatures, regulators, responsible vendors, and the future of kratom policy across the country. It also reinforces what the AKA has been warning for years:

Chemically manipulated 7-OH products are not natural kratom leaf.

That distinction matters.

The AKA’s message remains clear:

Protect natural kratom leaf.
Regulate responsible kratom products.
Remove dangerous synthetic and chemically manipulated 7-OH products from the marketplace.
Do not punish kratom consumers for the actions of bad actors.

Because there are so many components to this DEA notice and its potential impact, the AKA will be holding a special national advocate webinar this Tuesday night at 8:00pm ET.

Please register here:

https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_fsylB35kSaaLUSDc8IfZag?emci=a055696a-4879-f111-ac9c-000d3a14b6d6&emdi=2c667f57-4979-f111-ac9c-000d3a14b6d6&ceid=6474722#/registration

On this webinar, the AKA team will break down:

✅ What the DEA scheduling notice says
✅ Why this action is focused on synthetic and chemically manipulated products posing as kratom
✅ What this means for natural kratom consumers
✅ How this could impact state legislative battles
✅ How advocates can help make sure lawmakers do not use 7-OH as an excuse to ban kratom
✅ What comes next in the fight for science-based consumer protection

This is an important moment for every kratom advocate.

The bad actors who created and promoted high-potency 7-OH products should not be allowed to define kratom policy. Responsible consumers should not lose access to natural kratom leaf because synthetic products were falsely marketed as kratom.

That is why your voice is so important.

Please join the AKA this Tuesday at 8:00pm ET and help us continue the fight to protect kratom consumers, defend consumer freedom, and advance responsible regulation.

Thank you for standing with the AKA and with kratom consumers across America. 🇺🇸

is kratom worth it for manual labor pains?

been in some frustrating pain from work. lift boxes all day long and my back is killing me, not to mention i broke my ankle in early february this year and it’s still causing pain. boss told me i had to stay an extra couple hours off stacking a bunch of boxes and i slipped while off stacking with my ankle that is now supposedly healed (still aches a bit usually) and i am in a bit of pain today. back is killing me, ankle is fucked, and i can’t find the drive to do much self care like laundry, hobbies, shower, etc. i’m just so tired and in pain.

i know kratom carries addiction risk and i’ve used it before but i need to get stuff done today and i’m having trouble. just want this pain to drop off for a bit. what do you guys think?

Something I've been worried about

So I've been on this subreddit for ages. Even after I've stopped kratom, I think it's important that people have access to it. I know how much it helps people. And there's been one thing about the lawmaking that has worried me to no end. I wanted to see if anyone else had the same worry.

It was MGM-15 and MGM-16. I've known about these for awhile now. And I was worried that if they only banned 7-OH, we would just be in the same place as now. I feel that local legislators would have gotten annoyed that new things kept popping up, and they sentiment to ban regular kratom would eventually take over.

And like clockwork, the 7-OH suppliers have already started switching to MGM-16. They likely didn't anticipate that the feds would also ban those and expect that it would be a wide open loophole. And then it would be some goofy whack-a-mole thing, and the local governments would lose their patience.

Hitting them all at once was a very smart move.

I do worry about other analogues and synthetic bastardized things popping up. Even with 7-OH, it can turn into 8-OH and 11-OH, which is part of why 7-OH is dangerous. There's always going to be an attempt to make new things to sell. The only thing that will keep regular kratom safe is that it's normalized into society. I think the AKA needs to work on regulation across the states. And maybe also labeling of products. Because people hate those tacky kratom signs and all of that. I want regular kratom to stick around. It helps so, so many people.

Anyway, I was just curious if this was on the back of anyone else's mind the past few months.

P.S.: Let's not make fun of the 7-OH people. Yeah they're annoying. They can't spell. They go on weird tangents that are conspiratorial and have no grounding in real life. But they're people. And maybe they can realize after awhile that maybe it was a bit crazy to think 7-OH would ever remain legal to buy at stores. Maybe some of them will land back on regular kratom and watch their bank accounts go back up. Either way, stay strong guys. I know that withdrawal from that stuff can't be easy.

Digestion Question

Howdy, everybody!
I am a very new user of kratom leaf. I’ve been using about 6-8 grams a day for the past month. I am using the powdered leaf in capsules. I use for chronic pain from ankylosing spondylitis :( and it has been so effective for me!

I do wonder, though, about everyone’s experiences with digestion. This is going to be somewhat gross if you’re not into discussing poop.

I was under the impression this may help with chronic diarrhea, which I have as a result of a colectomy and partial ileostomy and Crohn’s disease. So far it has not shown to be beneficial whatsoever! I mean, nothing really has helped me with that before, not immodium, only large doses of prednisone for a long period of time.

I guess I just was curious if you fully-intact-intestinal folks noticed constipation with Kratom, like with traditional opiates.

Someone mentioned in a thread how kratom is motion activated and yah.. I can confirm. I’ve noticed on super active days especially when I’m sweating a ton doses go straight through me. I don’t think you can literally sweat it out, but was working outside for 12 straight hours today and if I wasn’t careful could’ve easily doubled my usual gpd. Similar experience?

NJ to FL

Hi all,

I hope you’re doing well and happy Fourth! Going down to Tampa in a few weeks and plan on taking capsules and everyone’s other favorite supplement 😉 (yes I know, I know I shouldn’t be using it but I am and plan on stopping once I’m done with this batch). Putting both into a vitamin bottle and keeping in my carry-on. Am I all good to go? How risky is this? Can’t imagine they have tests that can determine this stuff from everyday supplements. Anywya, you guys think I’m okay or should I be concerned. Please no judgment (I know I need to get off the other shit) but just not in this post. Putting in a vitamin bottle okay?

Thanks!

Just took very first dose

Trying Kratom for the first time. I went with Red Bali, starter dose is 3g (6 capsules). My main goal is treating anxiety, mood, and insomnia. With a bonus of helping with body aches from my job and general discomfort. I chose red specifically because I work overnight shifts and need a way to hopefully help me wind down for sleep on the days I'm a little more restless. I am aware that lower doses can be stimulating, so I'm taking this first dose on my day off during the afternoon so I can get a proper feel for it. So we will see how it goes. Wish me luck!

Update: I'm about 45 mins in now and just starting to feel the effects for the first time. It's really pleasant and not overwhelming, I've got a little bit of what I can only describe as a warm buttery feeling.

Is this kratom safe to eat?

I have forgotten about a bag of opened kratom powder I have that was kept in a dark place (not cool but no direct sunlight). The kratom was packaged in 2024 in a clear plastic vacuum sealed package and I opened it one year ago. Then I closed it using a clipper, so it was not air tight for about a year. Do you think, would it be safe to eat?

The 0.05% 7-HMG scheduling threshold for leaf: Analysis

Because some folks have expressed concern:

Last night I pulled 80 lab reports from a handful of vendors from very large ones to small batch "cottage" operations across all color types. They were picked based on the of accessing lab reports. Two vendors were not considered because they did not have lab reports accessible on their website.

No 7-HMG levels in the botanical product samples exceeded 0.0184%, by dry weight basis. The average was 0.00566% (almost 10 times below the limit) with a standard deviation 0.00368%. This does not prove that they cannot exist, though I'm increasingly doubtful, just that I could not find one.

11 of 80 samples were below the limit of quantification (most common for "reds"), which varied by lab, but was never higher than 0.010%, and in many cases below 0.001%.

This was below the pending scheduling action that sets a threshold at 0.05%.

There was no significant correlation between shelf 7-HMG levels and mitragynine levels (r=-0.007, n=80).

I am not writing this to advocate for or against the scheduling action (in this post) and my only intention is to report my findings to the community.

Other information collected:

Average mitragynine: 1.31% (range: 0.62% to 1.73%).

Notes:

A larger sample is always better. I stopped at 80 because I had not seen any samples exceeding the threshold, and only 7 (of 80) were 0.010% or higher and time constraints.

Question

I’ve been using kratom 3-6 times a week for the past 2 months, and my typical dose is 2-4 teaspoons at a time. I don’t have a scale to measure it, and read that a teaspoon of kratom powder is equivalent to roughly 2-2.5 grams. Based on that info, the most I’ve ever taken in a day was about 10 grams, maybe slightly more if it was a heavy spoonful. Fortunately, I have yet to experience any withdrawal symptoms on the days I go without it, despite using it multiple days in a row and up to 6 days a week. The biggest deterrent to me taking kratom is I can’t stand the taste of it. I’ve taken capsules before, but noticed the effects are less intense and take much longer to kick in, plus they are significantly more expensive, so I’ve stuck to using powder. I typically just mix it into water and chug it as fast a possible. I’ve tried the toss and wash method once and it left a disgusting taste in my mouth and feeling in my throat. I’ve read plenty posts from people claiming to consume very high doses (30-80 grams) daily, and I’m left with the question: how does one even consume that much powder? It would be easier to take capsules, but most I’ve seen contain only half a gram each and I can’t imagine somebody taking 50+ capsules daily. For anyone that uses kratom in large doses, what’s your preferred method of consumption?

Why do companies not test for pesticides?

I've been taking kratom daily for 4ish years now. All from a reputable source and by far the most transparent company I've ever seen which is why I've stayed with them this entire time.

That being said, recently I've realized they don't actually test for pesticides in their COA reports nor does any other reputable company I've looked at. All test for alkaloids, purity, heavy metals, and fungus or bacteria. Not pesticides.

Does someone know why this is? 3rd world countries aren't known for being super great about using this stuff and many of us take this daily which would put us at risk if there was even residual levels of cancer causing pesticides.

Do farmers and plantations not normally use pesticides for kratom? I've seen mixed reports that say kratom is a natural pesticide itself and bugs aren't attracted to it, or that pesticides aren't required due to it being a tree.

Idk, anyone got any more insight on this?
