Good first experience that turned very sour. How do I avoid?
Okay so for context, I very much had an “I didn’t choose kratom, kratom chose me” moment. I had a paper for one of my classes due in a day and uhhhhhh…. Uhh….. I got NONE of it done until the “due in 24 hours”because of a backlog of papers and tests that I had, so I needed a study aid. Next thing you know, what started as a half joke to myself turned into reality (I had a negative view of kratom until that day, not so much anymore)and I’m out here getting a small lil 25 pack of white vein maeng da capsules for like $5 from the convenience store because I’m desperate for something that’ll render me able to get a 3000 word paper done in 24 hours. Lo and behold, due to my status as a lightweight who somehow has an even lower tolerance than she should (5’9”, 165, male body), I have a single .5g veggie capsule and it actually goes quite well for me… it gives me mild energy and almost feels like there’s a metaphorical tunnel vision static that allows me to focus. It also made the intimidating nature of getting all of the paper done at once WAY less intimidating, I was able to take bigger bites conceptually so to speak, and it was a pretty good study aid… Later on into the night, the .5g turns into 1.5g. All this same stuff happens but I start to feel euphoric, talkative, and elated, but I’m still squarely in the stimulant stage of dosing and my schoolwork is still positively affected.
Then I take two more capsules, turn my 1.5g into 2.5, and that’s when shit hits the fan to put it in extremely understated terms. I go into the sedated stage but with the addition of my heart starting to pound, I dissociate a little and my vision almost starts to zoom out. I get a pretty bad headache and nausea that almost feels like the lite version of alcohol spins, almost throw up, and go through all this while working on the home stretch of my paper. Apparently like 2-5g is the low/stimulant/normal dose for most ppl but for me it’s somehow uncomfortably high. I’m also on Prozac and Wellbutrin so idk if that affected things or not. I liked my experience on the lower dose but I have a bit of a (thankfully metaphorical) bad taste in my mouth.
Anything I can do next time to avoid the headaches, nausea, dissociation, and discomfort and just be able to either get work done better, be more sociable, or just have a good time/feel good? Also some tips for moderating use too, I don’t want to be addicted to this stuff

Mississippi Governor signs KCPA; Miss. now the 15th State with Kratom Consumer Protection Act. This is a huge win considering how often Mississippi has come to criminalizing kratom in the past decade. Thank you to all kratom advocates who helped and the Botanics for Better Health and Wellness for their relentless work. This bill isn't perfect, especially the excise tax imposed, but the AKA is committed to working in Mississippi to improve the bill in coming years, and hopes neighboring states like Louisiana and Alabama will take notice.

Any life hacks for the itching?
I take kratom pretty much every day about 3-4 1g capsules of kratom before work and it can get pretty annoying with the nose itching i feel like i look really weird wiping my nose all the time (idk why but it’s mostly just my nose at these dosages) i can handle the itching if i’m doing it alone just to relax by myself even at higher dosages but it really gets on my nerves when i’m itching around other people.
have any of you found anything that helps you with itching?

Is My Usage Heavy ?
Hey guys, so ive been using kratom for 3 years now, when i started i was taking it multiple times a day, i didnt weigh it, i was just using it for fun, later like 6 months in i started to dose 2x a day each dose 6.5grams 4grams of green 2.5 white, i think i have around 1.3-1.5% mitra, kratom greatly helped me build my business, build myself, made me workout, since i started using it i kicked weed, i am so much more confident and im so motivated towards building my business and myself, It never did anything bad to me, ive never felt any big side effect that would be sort of bad, everything i get from it is so great, but I wanna ask you guys, do you think my dosage - 6.5grams 2 times a day, first dose at 12:30pm (i wake up at 5:30) and last dose 18-19:30 pm is considered heavy usage? Ive been battling with this and I just dont know if I take too much given that it has never done anything bad to me but completely turn over my life to the good side, i see people saying its too much, but i barely feel it, it just gives me the drive to do things, to take care of people around me and to build myself... Kratom has been the best drug ive ever taken in my life, weed had me addicted and lazy for 8 years, kratom completely turnt my life over , made me driven, made me build my business and my relationships and literally killed my depression because i just work and enjoy the fk out of this life because of it.. But i dont want to abuse it and be a heavy user.. I am addicted but its nowhere near the addiction to weed that ive had, i dont basically feel any withdrawals from kratom if i miss dose or dont take it, i just feel like if I take it, im going to do more, im going to enjoy doing more and caring about people around me more, i just dont see why would this be a heavy usage when it literally do only good for me.. I am very healthy, eating clean, drinking alot of water, walking 13k steps a day, lifting weights and I feel like im on top of my game with kratom in my life.. what do you guys think? Should i cut the dosages? Im sorry for this long essay im juts really battling with this thought that im a heavy user and i need some different perspectives from different people, thank you all

Reasons my Kratom rarely works if ever
So my kratom barely works these days, even though I've no real tolerance and don't get withdrawals when I stop for a few days. I'm now thinking the reason I don't get the withdrawals is because im not digesting it properly which obviously means it's not working properly. Every now and again after a big dose, I'll eat a meal a couple of hours after and I get great sedation, which means something has triggered properly digestion of it. Most times though I'll take a small, a mid and large sized with no real effects. I certainly feel something but it's minimal. And the large dose feels the same as the small. And the eating thing only works sometimes. What could be causing this lack of digestion or absorption or metabolising or whatever you want to call it? It worked fine the first year, even though euphoria left after a dozen or so doses. Could I have damaged something or lost an enzyme if that's possible?

Kratom and Pu’erh tea combo
I tried Kratom for the first time yesterday (White Vein Mengda) and had it again this morning as a study aid with puerh tea (gongfu tea is a big hobby for me) for a 3000 word paper that is due today at 3. Oh. My. God. This, combine with the caffeine and Qi from Puerh tea is really good for alleviating stress but also making me more able to get things done and map out the grand scheme of the paper. It’s the ultimate study combo. I’m a lightweight (5’9”, 165lbs, 21MTF) but abnormally so for someone my weight and age, so somewhere between 0.5-2g is enough to keep me energized. I went to 2.5g and it’s way too sedating to study on but feels nice minus the headache. Makes intimidating tasks more calm and approachable. I just hope I don’t get addicted or dependent to this stuff. I wanna start a discussion about this as a study aid but I also want advice on moderation.

I was given several small bags of kratom, already opened but still alot left. The dates say 4.16.22 on the bags. Is this still good to use?
This is a friend who bought them, who tried it and didn't like it. But they kept the unused portions in bags in a drawer for years. I am just worried that it may have degraded or might not be good to use. I make tea out of the powder. The bags given to me are the fine powder. Should I throw away?

Texas Senate Bill 1868
Hey, so texas is yet again flexing its hatred for its people by effectively trying to outlaw kratom (and thc products). If anyone is from Texas, we are down to the wire on the vote! Call your state senators and ask them to oppose or to remove kratom from the bill! It technically allows kratom in alkaloid content less than .1%, which means even plain leaf will be effectively outlawed.
This link will give you a list of your state senators in Texas, and if you put in your address, it will connect you with the office of your specific senator. It did connect me directly with their office and I spoke to a staffer, so have your speech ready if you're a weirdo like me that needs to rehearse before you talk haha. They were very nice. Let's fight guys! So many lives, including mine, will suffer greatly from this if it passes in its current form.

Using occasionally after quitting
I searched the forum but didn't find an answer.
If someone has taken kratom for years, then quit and made it through withdrawal. Can they use it occasionally again after a couple of months without risking addiction/withdrawal?
What's your experiences?
The only other physical addiction I've experienced is nicotine. And ime it gets risky terribly fast if you smoke a cigarette again after you've quit.

On Earth Day, let’s not forget how kratom can actually help the environment
Most people know kratom for how it helps with pain, anxiety, energy, etc. But what a lot of folks don’t realize is that kratom can actually be good for the environment — especially compared to other cash crops.
Kratom grows best in shaded, biodiverse environments — it loves the forest. That means farmers don’t have to clear-cut land like they do for palm oil or rubber. In fact, in some parts of Southeast Asia, kratom farming is helping keep rainforests intact, because the trees are more valuable alive than cut down.
Some quick reasons why that matters:
• Preserves rainforest ecosystems
• Supports farmers without destroying land
• Doesn’t need heavy pesticides or fertilizers
• Can be grown in agroforestry systems (basically, mixed farming that mimics a natural forest)
Obviously, if demand keeps rising and big players get involved, there’s always a risk of it becoming less sustainable. But right now, kratom is one of the few crops that has the potential to support both people and the planet — if we do it right.
So yeah, just something to think about today. If you’re using kratom, you’re not just helping yourself — you might also be supporting a greener kind of farming, too.

Louisiana has Senate Bill 154 that will criminalize kratom and unfortunately it is gaining traction. The AKA is working to stop the Bill but desperately needs all Advocates to contact Louisiana officials and tell them to oppose SB154 and criminalization. The new amendments the author (Perry) offered do little to improve the bill.
1st: It only clarifies smokable forms and tablets/pills are not permitted.
2nd: Nothing to do with kratom, just enumerates a bunch of cannabinoids that would have made a lot more sense to tack on to SB3, notably Delta-8 and Delta-10.
Consider using this information next time you go to the polls in Texas.

Anyone on an SSRI and/or BusPar experience diminished effects from Kratom?
I used to take Kratom last year, I would take 4-6g a few times a week for chronic pain. I started developing panic attacks which I thought was the Kratom/life stressor's. I stopped the Kratom and got prescribed an ssri and BusPar which has helped immensely with my panic and anxiety.
Since getting this under control I wanted to introduce Kratom back into my routine for my chronic pain. I started at .5g and have worked up to 2.5g so far but the effects seem diminished compared to using it before. I still get the pain relief but the 'good feeling' seems lessened. Should I keep upping the dosage or is this what it is because of the medications?

Lol like I said in the title, this might be a completely asinine thing to even ask but...how on earth is there so much kratom??? Lmao. I picture jungles full of kratom trees and it's hard to imagine how we are able to get so much damn leaf powder from them. I mean theres tons upon tons upon tons of it entering different countries. Does anyone have any idea how large of an area these trees actually span?

Any advice or tips on discreetly consuming kratom at school/work? (Besides capsules)
Hey guys, I start a program at a community college soon and will be there roughly 12 hours a day. So I’ll need to figure out how to dose while there. I normally toss and wash but I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to do that much. Was thinking of pre mixing in shaker cup(s) with lemon juice or orange juice and turmeric. I’m not a fan of capsules really, although they are convenient in this type of situation. Any ideas, help or advice is appreciated!

Kratom Hyerkalemia and LDL
I have used kratom on and off for the last 3 years. For the last year, I have let it get totally out of control - daily use of 450 mitra extract shots. For the last 3-4 months, it's been heavy use of 7-OH tabs - 3-4 full 80mg 4 packs per week. Had bloodwork done 2 years ago, perfectly healthy. Bloodwork done again 3 weeks ago, and my potassium is at 6.0 and LDL in the 200s. Needless to say I'm back to leaf capsules and tapering down to a quit. I just want all to be aware, as I'm sure many of you are, that the extracts are bad news without being careful. I go to the doc on Friday to talk about these bloods.

Poop and alcohol related question
Ok… sorry in advance for the graphic post:) for the last decade I’ve been a daily user of Kratom, while also drinking alcohol daily. Poops during that time have always been inconsistent and soft.
Since giving up alcohol this year, poops have been huge and consistently hard.
My consumption of kratom did increase since giving up alcohol.
My question is….is the exclusion of alcohol the reason for the stool change or is it the increase in Kratom daily?
I’d say that while drinking I was probably around 10gpd. Now I’m around 20gpd.

Why?
Been using kratom for 3 months. I use the premade capsules mitragynine 1200mg. I haven't figured out the grams but as far as I can tell the consensus is each capsule is .5g. So anyway, lately about 4 hours after my 8 morning capsules I get a headache, nausea, just don't feel good. Anybody with any thoughts?

Interesting finding, want to see if it's universal
I have found if I drink a couple Polar brand grapefruit Seltzer after eating a few tablespoons of kratom (I prefer white maeng da powder) I get a really distinct and pleasant sensation in my head and chest. I don't get this particular sensation with just kratom, and I feel like the seltzer strongly potentiates the kratom. I've had this effect with some other kinds of seltzer, but not others, and it's strongest with Polar brand grapefruit flavor.
Is anyone here willing to try this with powdered kratom and report back if you felt stronger results then just kratom? I want to know if it's just me or if I'm on to something.

I was recently prescribed vyvance, and I also take kratom at low doses for anxiety/pain (~4g in pill form with breakfast trainwreck strain) I haven’t had Kratom in about a month as I cycle it to avoid withdrawal ( have never had any been using for about 2 years cycle a month on few weeks off or few months off just when my anxiety gets bad, have also never at all felt addicted to it can stop whenever in this period I went 3 months without to test the water and see if I was addicted and felt no temptation to take again) currently just started vyvance today and would like to know how they interact if anyone takes both together.

So tonight I’m listening to my audiobook (Bloodmarked by Tracy Deonn if anyone’s curious what book was good enough for me to be stupid and not take my AirPods out) and I could feel some anxiety creeping up and decided to go take a small amount of kratom really fast.
Throw it back and shake my head a little, and my airpod goes flying……….. into the bag of kratom. 🙃
It somehow lodged itself DEEP in the bag and I was PANICKING lol. My husband would have lost his ever loving mind since this is the second pair he’s bought me.
I did get it out finally, though it made a huge mess, cleaned it up but the sound was awful. So I got deep in there and made 1000000% sure they were clean. Sound is perfect now and I will absolutely be taking my AirPods out next time.
I’m laughing at myself now but dang that was a bit scary for a minute lol. I thought they were done for for sure.
