LPT: When asking someone to do something say when you want it done
If you ask for something and you don't mention a time people will add it to their whenever pile.
Be specific about whether you need it now, as soon as possible, or by x date .
e.g.
Could you take the trash out before you sit down?
Could you call the plumber tomorrow morning?
Can you finish the quarterly report by Tuesday?
When you are clear about your expectation the other person can think right away if that is doable or not. Otherwise if they say yes on a completely different timescale to the one you had in mind you might not find out until it's too late.

LPT: When searching on an online marketplace (like eBay, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc.), make sure you look for misspelled versions of items to find undiscovered deals. Nikon? Check Nikkon. Reebok? Reebocks. Pokémon? Pokimon.
It has the possible added benefit of A) the buyer not having much idea of what they're selling, and B) the listing having been up a long time, both potentially leading to a great deal.
That said, there is the added risk of finding fakes or duplicates, but hopefully you're a smart and discerning enough buyer.

LPT: Stop Apologizing
A wise man once told me long ago, "Never apologize for doing good work". I believe these are great words to look deep into and live by.
Stop apologizing for everything. Stop saying sorry for every little thing, especially when it's not necessarily your fault, or it can't be helped. When you apologize, it can make it seem like something is your fault even when it isnt, its almost like accepting blame for the situation. It makes you look weak, like a push over, like you dont know what your doing, and becomes a bad habit when you apologize too often.
Offer relevant information to the situation, provide clarity or opinions to help appease / inform the person.
Stop saying sorry just to appease others, most of the time it makes you look bad anyways.
I don't mean stop apologizing when you are very much in the wrong, or when you have been a jerk recently, etc.
TLDR: Don't apologize for every little thing in life, especially when it isn't directly your fault.

Doing this you will safeguard your account from unauthorized purchases, anf it would become impossible for banks or thiefs, to “reverse” or “decline” bank payment, resulting in your account suspention.
And, if you have children who use your console, it would become impossible for them to buy content, unless there are funds on your account.

Create a digital backup of important documents and photos by scanning or taking photos of them with your smartphone. Store these files securely in cloud storage or on a trusted external hard drive. This ensures that you have access to important information even if physical copies are lost, damaged, or inaccessible. Plus, it helps declutter your space and makes document retrieval quick and convenient whenever needed.

LPT Best recovery tips for impacted wisdom teeth removal?
I have to have my lower left wisdom tooth and the molar in front of it removed here in a few hours. The wisdom tooth is growing in sideways and has completely cracked my molar. I should have had them out years ago, but didn't due to no insurance. I'm having this done at one of those 24/7 dental clinics because a regular dentist won't take me on short notice and wants to schedule me 3 to 4 months out. I can't do that as my molar is infected and the pressure from my wisdom tooth is starting to crack the remaining molars in front of them. Same situation with my tooth wisdom teeth but thankfully they aren't bothering me yet. I can only have 4 teeth removed a year on my insurance so l have to pick and choose.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
I do vape but I figured out a way to do so without creating suction so l won't dislodge the clot.

LPT - “What’s keeping you busy these days?” is a better small talk opener than “how’s …”
It opens up people to talk about what they want to talk about. It works for people you know well, haven’t met before, and anyone in between. Even with people you know, saying “How’s work” “How’s the kids” “How’s…” just forces them into that one subject. Possibly, something unpleasant may have happened and they particularly don’t want to talk about “…”
Also, personally, I’m terrible at remembering things about people after only meeting them once or twice. This keeps me from asking about a job, kids, hobbies, etc. they may not have

LPT: When you are visiting a friend who is unemployed, don't ask him how the job search is going. Let them bring it up first if they need to do so.
Your friend has been dealing with the stress of looking for work all day long, isolated, ruminating over what could happen, feeling self doubts. Having you come over is a mental health break from all that, a welcome distraction. Don't harsh that by asking this common questions and getting his mind back on that track again.

so even if it costs 2-3 times as much, it's so much more worth it.

LPT: text your partner when you take or administer meds. For example, text your spouse the name and dose when giving to a sick kid
My wife and I have two children and we both had outpatient procedures last year. When we either take (for ourselves) or administer (for our kids) any medication, we text the other the name and dosage.
Originally I recorded this information on my Notes app, but when our kid had a fever it made so much sense to just text it to my spouse. Now there is a log AND we both have a copy.
Edit: this is for exceptional circumstances as mentioned above; surgery or illness. I don’t think there is much use texting daily medication to your partner, track it yourself.

LPT: Be very careful with the idea of doing what you love for work.
Two things can happen when you turn a hobby you love into a job. One is the old saying, "Do what you love for a job and you'll never work a day in your life." This is very possible and can lead to a very happy career where you wake up every day excited to work because you truly love what you do.
However, there is also a very real second possibility that sounds a lot more like "Do what you love for a job and you will very quickly stop loving doing it."

LPT: Only give advice when it’s solicited.
This rule applies in adult-to-adult interactions and is important for 3 main reasons:
1. If people don’t ask for feedback or advice, they are most often implicitly communicating that they do not want any.
2. People change on their own terms and based on their own motivations and are only ready for the level of change they can take on at a given time. This is a core tenant of motivational interviewing.
3. Maybe most importantly, you are practicing good CYA techniques. Giving unsolicited advice, while often well intentioned, can be perceived as being judgmental; mansplaining; narcissism; and any slew of other behaviors depending on context.
Unless specifically solicited, or you are interacting with your child or children you coach or teach, keep constructive feedback to yourself in most circumstances.

LPT Tired of AI in your image searches? Add “-AI” to the end of your query.
You can add -art also if you want it to be more strict. More AI will be filtered out, but you might lose artistic portraits of real people. You can skew it as much as you want, just add the - and a term you want to filter.
I’m sure there are much more sophisticated search tools you could use but this one is easy to remember and effortless to use.
I look up generic attributes and features regarding real human people a lot but it’s been getting more and more clogged with AI pictures that look less like humans and more like Alita.
This search append will help, it’s not perfect, but it’s a dramatic reduction. I don’t know how well it would work on established names but for things like “medium skin, freckles, middle age” you’ll be more likely to get a real person stock photo.

LPT Never use combination locks/"number code" locks in areas that can be accessed by children
Such locks seem to attract children's attention in a wide range of ages, and they spend huge amounts of time playing with the dials, eventually brute - forcing them open.
I had a 4 digit key safe in the garden of an apartment house. A five year old and her three year friend played with it for weeks, popped it open and used the key to unlock the gate to the garden, running away into a major city in the evening. It took at least 30 minutes for the parents to notice. They found them in the park, luckily nothing bad happened.
My wife when she was a kid found one of these black briefcases with two little dial locks. She played with it for many days until it opened, and found the love letters her mother had received before meeting her dad.
Hot stuff, especially for a ten year old to read.
Please don't use sth like this in low height areas, especially when there are dangerous objects inside.
I found it not intuitive to forecast this risk.
If sth bad happened to the little girls when they opened the gate that evening, my life would feel very different now

LPT: If you're tired of spending a bunch of money on shaving cartridges, learn how to use a safety razor
A razor cartridge runs about $2.50-$5 US and lasts a couple of weeks. For a small investment of $10-$20, you can get a safety razor (aka double edge razor) and get a package of 100 blades for just $10!
Added benefits are:
1. You can actually get a closer shave
2. Unlike cartridges, they are recyclable.
3. If you get bumps after shaving with a cartridge, you'll probably find that's not an issue with safety razors. It's believed the reason people experience that is because of the multiple blades passing over your skin.
4. You'll find your skin is actually smoother because, again, you don't have multiple blades scraping away layers of skin.
Edit: changed biodegradable to recyclable.
