LPT : How to cope with the loss of my dog
I’ve had my baby for half my life ever since I was 12 to just 2 days ago. i wasn’t home and it all happened so suddenly and I can’t stop feeling guilty for not being there for him. I see him in every space of my house and I only get to be happy when i sleep or nap dreaming of him. I’m having such a hard time doing anything without thinking of him.

LPT: Do hard things.
It's so tempting to always take the easy, convenient route. but too much comfort can mess you up. Challenges will come to you every now and then and will hit like a train if you've been too comfortable. If you make it a habit to go out of your way to do hard things regularly, you'll be more calm and comfortable when hardships come your way. After awhile you'll actually enjoy doing hard things if you habitually go in with the mindset of self improvement.

LPT Did you know that if you sit for long periods of time, your risk of developing diabetes can go up by 30%?
Did you know that if you sit for long periods of time, your risk of developing diabetes can go up by 30%?
When you sit a lot, your body has a harder time controlling your blood pressure and keeping your insulin levels balanced.
Increasing your chances of developing high blood pressure and Diabetes.
All it takes is a simple change to lower the risk.
Moving often.
This is why I aim to stand up and move around every 30-60 minutes when working.
It could be a quick 2 minute walk, stretching or some squats which doesn't sound like much.
But it all adds up.
So make an effort to get up and move around regularly - your body will thank you.

LPT: Medication Storage Pouches
Life Pro Tips: Medication Storage Pouches
A little bit of background:
I have ankylosing spondylitis, and I was on Enbrel. Enbrel didn’t work for me so I swapped meds.
Luckily for me, I ordered the free travel case Amgen offered before I swapped meds.
Now, what was once intended to be a medicine bag, is now a cable/wall plug bag for a trip in the future.
It’s a small bag, yet so far can hold:
-3 cables (1 10 foot, 1 3 foot, 1 6 foot)
-Apple 35W USB C plug with the duckhead (even the bigger international ones). Context: I’m based in US where the prongs fold, but tested with my world traveler adapter kit I bought for trips. Other region/country “duckheads” in the WTAK don’t fold, only the People’s Republic of China (prongs without holes) and US/Canada/Mexico/Japan (prongs with holes) fold.
-car cigarette plug adapter
-USB C to A adapter
-wireless “neckband style” earbuds
Pretty handy.
My tip is: when you’re on speciality medications that need to be kept cold, or kept together, order the travel pouch if you’re offered a free one from the manufacturer of your medication. Once you get off the medication, change medications, etc. you have a free small bag for whatever you need.

LPT: Avoiding AI voice scams
As is being reported around the world, AI voice scams are getting more and more common. These usually involve a "family member" calling and saying they are in some kind of trouble and need money.
If you receive one of these calls, ask the family member something they would know, but a scammer would not, such as "where did we go on that trip last year?"
Or "what did we do on your last birthday?"
It would probably be best to discuss this with the family before hand, just so if it's a real call, they are expecting it and don't get even more flustered.

LPT: See an ad on social media for something you like? Run a reverse image search before you buy.
Many of the ads on Facebook and other apps sell items from Aliexpress and other cheap sites at an insane markup. Always search the image before buying to see if it’s a scam.
The same is true for Etsy. Etsy used to be a true handmade marketplace. This is no longer true. There are still genuine crafters on there, but they are drowned out by scammers who resell items from places like Shein and Aliexpress at much higher prices. They will lie in the description and list items as “handmade” even if they aren’t.

Simply give them a missed call. The second it rings, just hang up. It cancels or silences the alarm. Had to do it twice but alarm stopped after that and we went back to sleep.

LPT Request: fixing burn out without taking a leave
I recently left a high stress job for another job, only to realize after joining that it's even more high stress with an even higher workload. I don't have much savings, so I didn't take a break between the jobs, but now I am feeling burnt out. I dread working every morning and have trouble sleeping at night. Due to the economy I don't feel comfortable taking a leave and jeopardize my deliverables and my job - any tips on getting out of this? I already tried setting boundaries at work but the ramp up to the new job had been tough and my manager made it clear that he expected I would be able to complete the deliverables independently.

The things I picked up on are: grooming myself, getting fitted clothes, knowing my table manners and alcohol, expanding my vocabulary, learning something, staying fit, educating myself on classic art and literature, keeping up with the news, being well travelled.
What am I missing? I'm a cheapskate so I'm not too keen to spend an obnoxious amount of money, but might as well use it if most of it will be sitting in an investment account. (not American, not looking for investment advice) I've already started learning another language, which I really enjoy, so I'm hoping to find another hobby or two in the process. LPT: List all the things that you will going to do for a day to become more productive
I'm all about increasing productivity, and I have some great recommendations to share. First and foremost, I begin my day by hitting the snooze button - not going lie, it feels great. Then it's all about the morning brew. Coffee is essential for life, am I correct?
Next up, I went to the gym. Gotta get those endorphins flowing! Following that, it is time to tackle the to-do list. I divide everything down into smaller chores because, let's be honest, nobody has time for overwhelm.
I'm also a big fan of time blocking. Schedule everything, from work to leisure time. In terms of relaxation, I make an effort to take frequent breaks. Burnout is a productivity killer, y'all

Why do I think about this person so much? Ever since we fell apart I haven't been the same. This experience I had with this person really took a huge toll on me. I really would like to tell this person how I feel, however, I'm scared on how they will respond or if they will respond at all, and that I will end up hurt all over again or I will hurt them. In the past, I've tried to reach out to kinda check in on them but I've gotten no response, even tho we have a pretty long history. At one point they were answering me back but then they just stopped. I think I'm in love with this person and it's killing me.

LPT, Amazon Mondays
Amazon Mondays: A Clever Approach to Taming the Shopping Beast
Dear fellow Amazon enthusiasts,
I’d like to share an idea that has transformed our household shopping habits. It’s called “Amazon Mondays,” and while it might raise a few eyebrows (especially among the wives), hear me out.
The Problem: Amazon Overload
In recent years, Amazon deliveries had become a daily occurrence at our doorstep. As much as I enjoyed the convenience, I couldn’t ignore the mounting pile of boxes and the occasional glare from my better half. Yes, I was part of the problem, but it was mostly my wife who wielded the virtual shopping cart, especially when our teenagers needed something.
The Solution: Restrictive Bliss
So, I devised a plan—a simple pact that has worked wonders for us. We call it “Amazon Mondays.” Here’s how it works:
Monday Nights Only: We agreed to place Amazon orders exclusively on Monday nights. No exceptions. This restriction forces us to pause, reflect, and evaluate our purchases.
The Cart Conundrum: Throughout the week, we’re free to add anything we desire to our Amazon cart. But come Monday, we face the ultimate decision: Do we truly need it? Is it a want or a necessity?
Urgent Exceptions: If something can’t wait until Monday (like that missing phone charger or emergency cat food), we’ll brave the outside world and visit a physical store. It’s a small inconvenience for the sake of sanity.
The Art of Removal: You’d be surprised how many items I’ve removed from the cart on Monday evenings. That impulse buy suddenly loses its allure when you’re forced to evaluate it under the “Amazon Mondays” spotlight.
Weeks Without Orders: Yes, you read that right. Some Mondays pass without a single order. It’s liberating. We’ve rediscovered the joy of delayed gratification and mindful spending.
The Verdict: Sanity Restored
So, dear friends, give “Amazon Mondays” a shot. See if it curbs your impulsive spending, declutters your home, and brings a touch of discipline to your online shopping escapades. And wives, please forgive us—we’re just trying to strike a balance between convenience and sanity.
Let me know how it works for you. I’d love to hear your experiences. 📦🛒
Happy shopping (on Mondays)! 😄

LPT: when cooking a recipe that has basic cheese such as cheddar or mozarella, don't be scared to upgrade to a better cheese
My wife made a delicious cauliflower soup the other day. The recipe called for Cheddar, which was good, but I went for second and tried with Manchego and Blue cheese. It was delicious!!
Same with French onion soup: the recipe called for gruyere. Gruyere is a little blah sometimes so I put Comte instead
Pizza? Supercharge them by adding some Brie (keep the crust for a crispy texture) and a sprinkle of roquefort or blue cheese or whatever you have as long as it's not your generic grated cheddar or mozarella.
Burger? Maybe try Gorgonzola or slices of Petit Basque instead
Give it a try, it will change your life!!

LPT: Whenever you're moving/rearranging furniture, take a few minutes to vacuum, too.
Dust accumulates in corners, underneath furniture, on baseboards, etc. If you're pulling the TV media console away from the wall because you've got to get to the wires, for example, ask yourself if it's been more than a month or two since you could reach those surfaces, and if so, take advantage of the opportunity to clear out the dust! Your future self will thank you the next time you need to reach back there, AND it'll help keep the overall dust levels down.

This is a technique I have discovered recently and I want to share it to my fellow insomniacs.
1. Lay down on a comfortable position.
2. Close your eyes and think of something incoherent. This can be anything as long is it does not have any meaning.
3. Let your mind spiral and DO NOT try to understand what your mind is thinking.
4. Keep your mind occupied with the incoherent thoughts until you fall asleep. (No need breathing techniques)
If you tried it, i would be glad to hear about your feedbacks about the technique.
P.s. english is my second language so bear with me.

I don't know why I just realised this. I love eating at restaurants with my friends but it has become so expensive.
