LPT Every human connections needs two people, there as some things you can't force. Let life be

If you want to build a friendship or get into a relationship with someone that's good., and you should try your hardest to succeed, but after a point there is nothing you can do to build a connection with some people, a lot of people won't like you or want to be friends with you no matter what, and you have to accept this. but this should not affect you in a negative way, you are not the problem and neither is the other person, a lot of times things are nobody fault. things tend to not work out all the times. But other things do. Life and people come and goes, if you stress about something that can't be, that will just ruin your self esteem and world view.
Im sure you have people you don't like and will not like. You are on both side of this coin as well as everyone else is.

LPT : Don't be afraid of giving complaints to people who you know are nice in nature

Whenever I reach out to people who are preparing or just doing job I always say you know keep being you and I am really sorry proud of you for handling your studies or job well

It's just a trivial compliment but I realize it so much lifts their mood and i feel getting a little bit of dopamine too

Over the time i feel i had become such a postive personality in itself and for people I care about , any random compliments i give feel so better

LPT: What's your definition of 'being accomplished' in life?

When do you feel that you have done enough and it is time to hang the jacket on the rack and rest? I've always felt like nothing is ever accomplished fully in life and that one should always keep on working to the next, at least that's what my folks taught me. I'm in a good place in my life, working hard and growing my life well, but I'm feeling very drained slowly. When do you know that you've accomplished what you need to do in life?

LPT: Taking Pepto-Bismol right before vomiting neutralizes acidity. Allowing you to vomit without burning or nasal drip.

Pepto-Bismol contains an active ingredient called bismuth subsalicylate. It works by coating the lining of your stomach and lower part of the esophagus, which can help ease discomfort and reduce excess stomach acid.

While it can help with nausea, it will not stop vomiting.

When you vomit after taking Pepto-Bismol, it comes out with pink bile instead of the typical yellow. It will also not come out your nose at all.

It can still cause a sore throat but overall should be significantly less discomfort with absolutely zero burn.

LPT: Learn how to use baking soda as a cleaner for stove tops, pots, pans, countertops and more

You can save yourself a lot of money and effort cleaning a number of surfaces if you know how to use baking soda as a cleaner.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to make a thick paste. Apply paste to stained spot (food stains like turmeric, rust, polymerized oil, etc.). It is very important to leave the paste on the stained spot for at least 10 minutes before attempting to remove. After 10 minutes, remove stain by towel or gentle abrasive like a toothbrush. A comparably economical vinegar based cleaner would work well for this step.

LPT: if you are having trouble with your healthcare, ask for a case manager through your health insurance company

I just saw a post about expensive Rx’s and wanted to piggyback! If you have a lot of unexpected claims, or have denied insurance authorizations for prescriptions, treatments, procedures, specialists appointments, etc. and you can’t seem to get to the bottom of it… ASK FOR A CASE MANAGER! Most policies have nurse case managers available at no cost as part of your plan, and they can help with getting authorizations pushed through.

Or if a medication is still thousands even with insurance, they can help find vouchers or copay assistance programs for those specialty medications. It is kind of a well kept secret for some reason, but it saves you and the insurance company money by helping you get care and keeping you out of the hospital.

LPT Request: Help me with stinky dishes after running the dishwasher 🧼

Hi lovely people. My husband, son and I moved into a new apartment about a month ago and everything is new. The building and all the appliances, including the dishwasher, are brand new.

Ever since we moved in, I’ve noticed this nasty, almost like a wet dog smell on my dishes after I’ve run the dishwasher. I already tried putting a bowl of vinegar in the top rack, sprinkling baking soda all over and running the dishwasher and that didn’t work. My dishes still stink SO badly.

Can anyone help me figure out why this happens and if you have any tricks for how to fix this? Again; the dishwasher is brand new and so is the building/piping. Could it be coming from the water or the actual pipes? (I’ve also noticed this yucky smell in the bathroom in the shower and near the sink).

Thanks in advance, guys!

LPT: If you’re asked to do something you might fail at, it is often an opportunity for career growth.

Never refuse immediately because you are afraid or uncomfortable. The obvious exception is if the request is illegal or dangerous. You should always clearly and immediately refuse such a request.

Otherwise, if you aren’t sure how to respond, a generally safe default response is something along the lines of “That sounds like a great opportunity, can I take some time to think about it?”.

Oftentimes our knee jerk reaction is fear. Most people don’t want to fail. But in many cases, being asked to do something you aren’t experienced with represents a rare opportunity for career growth. It can be a signal that management thinks highly of you. Or it may be a circumstances where no other options are available - depending on the situation this may still be a valuable opportunity for growth. Always consider this possibility before refusing.

The truth is that most successful people did not get to where they are because they already knew how to do the things they seem to do well. They were willing to accept the risk and discomfort of potential failure in order to learn to do something they didn’t know how to do. This happens everyday in almost every line of work. If you want to progress upward in your career you should always be on the lookout for opportunities that involve the potential for failure. Oftentimes, the simple willingness to take on a difficult task can be a huge boost to the perception of your worth, even if you don’t ultimately succeed. You will be surprised to learn that all leaders in senior positions (both good and bad) make up a lot of what they do as they go.

LPT: a tip against internet trolls and toxic people

Do not enter arguments with internet trolls or other toxic people, because their goal is not arguing about the subject. A victory for them is to keep you distressed as long as possible.

Here's my tip in all its simplicity:

Block them immediately. If someone makes you upset, it's not an accident. The longer you hold the conversation, the more distressed you will get. The only way to beat these sad excuses for human beings is blocking them off.

LPT: Want to know if a watermelon is ripe? Turn it upside down and look at the color.

When you flip a watermelon upside down, you'll see a colored spot known as the field spot. If the field spot is YELLOW, that means the watermelon has been spending more time on the ground on the vine ripening, therefore it should be a sweeter tasting watermelon. If the spot is WHITE then that suggests it did not spend as much time on the ground and ripening on the vine, and possibly picked too early, and the taste may not be as sweet.

LPT: To prevent slimy salad, add a paper towel to the container

No one likes the slimy salad pieces you end up getting at the bottom of salad containers after just a day or two. It makes you have to pick out the good pieces and inspect for slime on each piece. I add a paper towel to the container: sort of grab the salad and then turn your wrists under to move the paper towel to the bottom of the container, wrapping around the salad to soak up all the condensation which seems to be the cause of slimy salad. It totally works and keeps salad fresh for way longer!

LPT: Pull upwards on a squeaky door to open it silently

If you've got a squeaky door that you just haven't got to with the WD-40 yet, a trick that often works if you need to open it quietly is to put as much upward pressure on it as possible when opening it. This lifts it slightly off the hinges, reducing the contact area that commonly causes squeaking. This is easiest to do by pulling upwards on the knob as you open it, but can also be done by holding the edge of the door.

LPT: Make a plan to scan all your family photos - you'll find them to be the truly priceless things you own

Thinking of this as I read about the incredibly sad situation in the Great Plains as tornadoes destroy entire communities...

The below applies to anyone, not just folks in tornado-prone areas: floods, water damage, fires, even earthquakes (triggering fires): there is a non-zero chance of major damage to your home in your lifetime.

You may have insurance, and this is great. It will, within reason, replace all the 'things'.
Hopefully, your computer is backed in the cloud -- it's a kind of insurance -- and it's very necessary.
But what you may lose are rare family pictures or old videos that are only on paper and film.

So, as a present to yourself and your family:

- Get yourself a photo scanner, which will make bulk scanning faster. You can even plan to resell it when you're done with your scanning project

OR

- Buy yourself the service of companies who will take your paper photos and videos and do the scans for you.

You can use this opportunity to tag the images as you digitize them and turn all these paper pictures and films into a true digital archive for yourself, but this is certainly more work. But you don't have to do this: at a minimum, scanning the photos and just depositing them on a cloud somewhere is enough to be your 'memory insurance'. Hopefully, your house is never destroyed and you never have to leverage that pile of digitized pictures.
But should it happen, your precious family memories -- at least -- are safe.

Like any disaster-preparedness plan, this plan was best done yesterday.

Thinking of the good folks currently affected by the tornadoes....
