Ive been doing this for years. Most people dont realize you can just take your stuff to the garden section cashier and you do not need to purchase any gardening supplies to do this. Its usually always empty and ive never had an issue doing this.

LPT Request: Apps or options for multiple chat threads across one platform
I’m building a new house for the first time and have been sending my sister and husband hundreds of links to different products.
I am wanting to create different chat threads or text conversations for different product types.
For example: one chat thread where we can share links for pendant lights, one where we can discuss different driveway options, Christmas present ideas, furniture etc.
From what I’ve been trying to do you can only create one text/iMessage/FB messenger group with the same people.
I’m wondering if anyone knows how I can achieve what I want with text/iMessage/FB messenger or another platform without creating one group per platform. I’ve been flooding our normal texting thread with dozens of links randomly and it’s hard to keep track of it all.

LPT: How to Stop a Duvet From Balling Up In the Dryer
Edit: Just realized I missed the word "cover" in my title. This tip is for duvet covers, not the duvet/comforter itself.
... A hair tie or scrunchie! (Note: You will have to check on your duvet cover once during the dry cycle. I think most duvet cover owners will still find this tip useful though. IYKYK.)
Gather the two corners of the top of your duvet cover and shake it out to loosen it up from the wash. Slip your wet duvet cover through a hair tie, and pull the hair tie to about the middle of your duvet. Your duvet cover should resemble a bowtie. Now dry! A little over halfway through the dry cycle, move the hair tie up or down the duvet cover and shake the previously-bunched up middle area loose to allow it to dry thoroughly during the rest of the cycle. Be careful not to move the hair tie too close to the end to prevent it from coming off during the rest of the cycle.
I tried this after I noticed my duvet covers were balling up in the dryer because their corners were getting sucked in to the center of the duvet covers as they tumbled. By preventing the corners from moving inside the cover, it doesn't ball up!

My dandruff comes back in around a week and if I keep my hair in cornrows after that my hair itches bad. I really just want to get rid of it to the point where I can leave my hair alone for 2-3 ish weeks without it springing back out. Hoping to hear some ideas/tips! Thanks.

LPT - Check your car warranty periodically to make sure that you’re informed about any “secret warranties” issued by your car’s manufacturer.
A secret warranty is a way manufacturers avoid recalls. They’ll pay to fix a certain issue in a specific type of vehicle even after the warranty expires, but only if consumers complain persistently. If you make noise, they’ll help you.
Secret warranties are for common defects that could cause recalls. Manufacturers call them warranty adjustments or goodwill gestures. They’re secret because only company offices and dealers know, not consumers.” https://normantaylor.com/blog/beware-the-secret-warranty/#:~:text=A%20secret%20warranty%20is%20a,defects%20that%20could%20cause%20recalls.
Many states (like mine) don’t require manufacturers to give notice to customers when they issue a secret warranty so you may never know of a newly discovered defect until you experience it yourself. Unless you’re lucky enough that the repair falls into the secret warranty window, you may be paying a lot of money out of pocket.
A lot of people assume that if their car is out of warranty, they’ll have to pay out of pocket when something breaks and will procrastinate on getting it fixed. Don’t do this! Check for any secret warranties right away because if the repair is covered, you probably have a relatively small window to fix it for free.
I just learned about secret warranties when my ac went out and I took it to the dealership for repair, only to find out that if it had broken a couple of months earlier, the repair would have been free. Recently, a brake light went out and the dealership tried to charge me $800 to fix it but since I knew it was covered by a secret warranty, I told them to pound sand because I wasn’t paying for the repair. But had I not known about secret warranties, the dealership would have been happy to take my money, which is why I don’t take my car to them anymore.
I now check periodically to see if there are any new secret warranty campaigns issued by my manufacturer and I make sure to get stuff fixed before the expiration.

I work in a customer service job that means I keep in touch with a lot of clients. I have a brain like a sieve and while I can remember a name when it's attached to a social media profile or a photo, before that I have no idea, no matter how many times I'm told. Please just put all the information in. Don't hand just the number back. It's not that we don't like you, it's just a genuine problem that a lot of people have. Living in a house with two forgetful people, we can make all the lists we want and still forget a lot of things/impulse purchase and end of with 7 things of cream cheese.
Taking a photo of the inside of our fridge before we go to the grocery store has been SO HELPFUL in having a real time inventory. Bonus points if you take close ups of each shelf if you have shelves filled with random sauces and condiments.

LPT request: How to tell my BFF to stop talking at all cost?
Hi,
English is not my first language so please, excuse any mistake or length.
My (35F) best friend (36F) talks too much but it's getting worse.
Every single thing I am going to tell you were pointed out to her by someone else a few times except me because I am a coward. As she is very sensitive with the opinion of people she loves, I don't know how to talk about this with her without making her cry.
I just went on a weekend with her so this is why I am writing now.
- She talks during shows. Loud music? Important dialogues? She will needs to tell you something in the ear every 15 seconds.
- Tend to repeat herself/ramble to an unhealthy level.
One part is, she does not remember she told what to who so, this comes as repeating but it's new to her when she says it.
This makes sense.
But if you go to diner with her, you would hear her saying at least 15 times " I am full/ I have eaten too much. Not you? Hu?".
OF COURSE I acknowledge.
I feel super guilty when at one point I say "yeah, I think I got it. You said it 10 times...".
She can ramble for weeks on a little story that happened to a person she loves even if the person is already over it.
- If she has nothing to say, she will start talking about literally anything. Everything needs to be discussed.
Yesterday, I was able to tell her "I am not interesting in that guy selling soup in the street and I know you are not" and she just left it there because, she knew it was true.
- Husband is not a phone person but mostly, is never really in a situation where he can use his phone. We ALL know this. She will call him for anything and then complain to me how he just answered "yes" or "no".
- you just woke up, BOTH still in your bed, eyes still closed? She starts talking.
It's not only she needs to talk. She needs us to ENGAGE AND LISTEN.
She can talk about her works for hours. She is passionate and this is very interesting. I could listen to her for hours.
My issue is those time when she just has nothing to say or nothing should be said and she wants to fill the void at all cost.
She told me she is addicted to being social. I feel like her energy, her security is talking to the people she loves non stop.
She says herself she has no anxiety, no issue whatsoever (she works with teenager with trouble in an hospital so she was tested a million times and she is surrounded by a huge medical team).
How to talk to her?

LPT: periodically check your emails when you’re waiting for a flight
I learnt this the hard way yesterday. We were waiting for a flight home from Germany, the plan was to go to Brussels then a connection from their to our home city.
Unbeknownst to me, about an hour before our flight departure I got an email from the airline saying they had rebooked us on a flight to Frankfurt then to our home city, because our original Brussels flight was going to be delayed and we’d miss the connection home.
I hadn’t been checking my emails and my original flight wasn’t showing as delayed yet on the flight board in the airport. We get to the gate of the Brussels flight, and were told we should have been on a flight to Frankfurt that had just left.
I’ve never missed a flight so was panicking. Luckily the airline was super helpful and they found us another route home abut an hour later that they rebooked us onto again for free.
But I’ll always check my emails now when I’m at the airport and you should too.

LPT Request: I only enjoy people or social settings/events if I'm drinking. How can I change this?
I think I've conditioned my brain over the past decade to only enjoy social settings if alcohol is involved. It's gotten to the point where even if I'm just walking down the street to hang with my neighbor, I'll slam a shot or two or crack open a beer to do what I now call "Lubricating the joints".
I dont drink during the week or before any normal/every day circumstance, because mostly Im just at home after work playing games or relaxing. But often on weekends I want to do things with friends or I'll get invited out and if I dont have a drink I end up being "tired", anti-social, boring, and just "over it" in general. I think I'm a pretty boring individual when sober, so the alcohol has become a crutch to get me to loosen up and be a more enjoyable person to be around.
But I'm sick of it, and its effecting my mentality towards potential relationships. Im trying to plan date nights with new people and before I even solidify a plan, Im already thinking "Ugh I just know Im gunna be over it halfway through the night, unless I find a chance to have a drink." Im sabotaging myself before anything begins.
I'd truly like to change this and be more sociable and have more fun without needing alcohol but I have no idea where to start.

LPT: When deciding whether or not to wear a certain fashion item, don't look in the mirror or evaluate until you have your entire outfit on, and have your hair/makeup/etc done.
If you throw on just a shirt and look in the mirror with your hair disheveled, you're automatically going to hate it, and take it off in disgust.
Put everything on, get fully ready, and once you're fully ready, then take a look in the mirror and decide if it's the move. You'd be surprised at how much better clothing looks with the entire kit together vs just alone. Especially when you can adjust how you like it now that it's complimented by the rest of your outfit.

LPT Request How to talk someone who takes any criticism as an attack?
I have a friend who responds to even the smallest criticisms with either vitriol (telling the person criticizing all their faults like it’s a bad person contest) or with cry bullying (“how could you say this to me”, “I thought we were friends”, “you don’t care about my feelings” etc).
As a result this person receives no corrective direction in their interpersonal relationships because nobody wants to deal with the fallout for trying to help them. Never getting criticized might sound great at first but the problem is they just get dropped like a hot potato when their behavior becomes too much for other people to deal with.
I don’t want to drop them out of my life, I think the ‘being a good friend’ thing to do is try to find a way to help but I don’t really know the way forward. The message simply won’t get thru, it only gets received as a personal attack. Even simply saying “sometimes you take criticism or advice you don’t agree with as a personal attack” will be met with anger.
I know this character trait isn’t super uncommon so I’m hoping someone can give some good advice on how to help. Thanks.

LPT: Don't be fooled into thinking "Truffle Oil" contains actual truffles. 99% of the time it's just regular cooking oil with the chemical 2,4-dithiapentane added for artificial aroma.
Many people might assume that "truffle oil" would be oil derived from truffles, or perhaps oil that has had truffles sitting in it for a while to impart truffle flavoring. Neither of those are true. Truffle Oil is usually just a base of almost any type of regular oil (canola, grapeseed, olive, etc) with the chemical 2,4-dithiapentane added. This single artificial chemical has an aroma that mimics (to an extent) the over 300+ aromas found in actual truffles.
In the U.S. it is even legal to use the words "organic" and "natural" in front of the words 'Truffle Oil', which led to a class action lawsuit that never did resolve the issue, but made several law firms rich.
While there is a product that is "oil infused with actual truffles", it is very rarely found or used because truffles do not impart much aroma into oil, so it is much less noticeable than the artificial stuff. Much more common is the artificial oil with tiny flakes of truffles, which again impart little to no aroma and are there mainly for visual purposes.

LPT you're feeling extremely vulnerable and hopeless in college, what steps should we take
Those who been feeling stuck in their academics paths, what did you do to get clarity. How were you able to resolve your overthinking and come up with a decision. Some people change majors like 4 times during their college journey and still not able to find something they really like or want to do for their rest of life. I was just thinking of idk, going to my college website and see what programs they offer that doesn't take up lot of time but also pays well and see if it's going to be worth pursuing for long term.
