✨Moroccan hospitality ✨

This morning on CTM, I offered the guy next to me some Smarties. He happily took a few, popped them in his mouth... then, not even a minute later, he hands me a can of Hawai like we just made some secret snack exchange deal! 😂
It made my day ngl 🫶🏻!

Why do so many poor children sell things in marrakech?

I am a tourist here and loved my time here. The people are mostly so nice and kind.

I gave 10 dirams to a small child and walked away. I looked back and he couldn't control the joy on his face. It's made me feel so sad how something so small brought him so much joy. Do these kids go to school too.

I been praying for them everyday and giving what i can when I see them

eSim Packages from Orange/etc. - How do I tell if they are cancellable after one month?

Hello Everyone,

I am going to travel Morocco next Month, and I was looking for some eSim Data Packages (20+Gb).
My research showed that probably the cheapest way is to buy one of the packages from the local providers. But I am not quite sure if I am signing up to a monthly (for a year) contract, or if I can just cancel it right away and only pay for one month?
E.g. this plan

How do I tell if I can cancel the plan monthly?

(do the little orage dacia's have a meter? i didn't see one. (I'm broke anyway, and 50Dh for a 30 minute taxi ride is 1/3 the rate in my country but still..

‏Which compliment people like more on body or on personality ⁉️

I see many people liking receiving compliments on their features, or how they present themselves in particular.
But when I think of complimenting someone first thing that come to my mind is complimenting someones personality. That they are very trustworthy or fun to be with.

Which do you like more? Which do you give out more?

Teacher-Student relationships in Morocco

Much respect to dedicated teachers who put in the effort, as well as to the hardworking students. No disrespect to them, but I’ve recently noticed that some students, particularly girls, are marrying their teachers right after finishing school, with others even dating them before finishing. While teacher-student relationships might not be as shocking in other countries, I’m curious if it’s becoming more normalized here. Have you observed this at your school? What are your thoughts on it? Do you support these relationships?

Let's balance out the Debbie Downers: name your top 10 favorite things about Morocco.

I'll start:

1. The vast diversity of flora and fauna spread across the entire ecosystem.
2. The breathtaking variety of landscapes, each region in the country offering something uniquely stunning.
3. The intricately detailed and aesthetically coherent architecture that stands out as both unique and timeless.
4. The artisanal, handmade works of art, seen both in outdoor spaces and indoor living.
5. The strangely atmospheric balance between sodium street lights and the bright LED glow of shop signs.
6. The immense warmth and hospitality, especially from those in rural areas, who would give you the shirt off their back if needed, even if it means they will sleep in the cold.
7. The diverse cuisine influenced by cultures from all corners of the world, creating a delightful assault on the senses.
8. The gorgeous women, who I consider to be among the most beautiful in the world.
9. The resilient and absolutely hilarious people who, despite facing many obstacles in life, celebrate with joy and crack jokes like happy drunks, without having touched a single drop of alcohol.
10. The bustling, dazzling, and highly energetic nightlife in major cities, where chaos somehow breeds order, and order gives way to chaos.

Your turn!

Is it possible to change school systems?

(my best friends aunt is using my account rn for this because she doesnt have reddit)

Hello! I'm a mother. Currently one of my child is in an american school that's in Morocco and wants to go to a normal moroccan school with the MASAR system. He wants to stay there for a year before going back to his american school. However some of my family is telling me that's impossible because if a child is in a non-MASAR system like french or american system in morocco then they're unable to go to MASAR because of a contract? Is that true? Because honestly I wouldn't put lying past them since they're not fond of MASAR. My main question is is it possible for my child (who is currently in high school if that changes anything) to switch from american school system to the moroccan school system for one year then easily go back to the american school system?

The Bitter Price of Normalization

I haven't been following this sub for a long time, and I'm almost certain to some extent that this has been discussed before, but under the current circumstances, we can't help but bring this topic back, in the hope of engaging with the youth or people who are unaware of the effects of the decision that our government has taken, on the long term and also on the short term, Therefore, I write this with a heavy heart and deep frustration, I come here to write this after stumbling upon the following article:

The amount of 116m$ isn't much I know, but it's still money going from us, taxpayers, to a trade that we never agrees upon in the first place...

The normalization of relations between Morocco and the Zionist state is not just a diplomatic blunder - it’s a betrayal of our values, our history, and most importantly, our solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Some say that this normalization was the price we had to pay for America’s recognition of our sovereignty over the so called "Western Sahara". But isn’t it funny, almost tragically so, that we need a foreign power to “validate” what has always been ours? It’s a joke - a big joke - on us as a nation, and how it has become a normal thing to say and to accept, is even more flabbergasting, as it seems that nobody is questioning the validity of the argument nor where the dignity of us, as people, fall in the equation, and I can't go through this without honoring a line of poetry that describes this to the teeth:

لا تَسقِني ماءَ الحَياةِ بِذِلَّةٍ بَل فَاِسقِني بِالعِز كَأسَ الحَنظَلِ

ماءُ الحَياةِ بِذِلَّةٍ كَجَهَنَّمٍ وَجَهَنَّمٌ بِالعِز أَطيَبُ مَنزِلِ

The fact that we’re expected to accept such conditions shows the weakness our leadership has reached. It’s a sign of how low they’ve fallen, and how little they trust in the strength and unity of our people.

But what angers me most is that this decision was made without us, while being fully AWARE that the people will NEVER in a million years accept such thing. Our voice has been silenced, ignored, and trampled upon. We, who have always stood for justice, are now being dragged into complicity with oppression. The Zionist state continues its brutal campaign against the Palestinian people, and by normalizing relations, our leadership is helping to shine their blood-tarnished image.

By normalizing with the Zionist state, our leadership is not just engaging in diplomacy - it is actively participating in the whitewashing of a regime that continues to brutalize, kill and torture a population to the point of complete termination, and I feel ashamed to say I come from one of the countries who are actively economically supporting a genocidal state.

Hey everyone, i need your feedback on my new website, ilaaa bghitou :)

I recently launched a real estate marketplace website that i've been working on for the last couple months called **Beytty.com**, with features like agent profiles, property listings, and more.

I'd love for you to take a look around and give me your honest feedback on it.

btw the listings and agents on the site are just for testing, so don't worry if you come across anything that seems out of place.

NEED LEGAL ADVICE to deal with a bar that plays loud live music until 2AM right below my apartment

HELP! I really need some legal advice/or just plain advice here, I'm living a NIGHTMARE.

My family of 5 and I have been living on the first floor of this building for over 30 years, before this new restaurant/bar opened a few weeks ago, there used to be a Chinese restaurant below us, so there was no nuisance as such.

But the owner sold the resto last year, and this new resto/bar has been renovating for the past 10 MONTHS non stop even on week-ends which was already pretty damn noisy. And now that they're finally open, it's gotten ten folds worse:

-They’ve installed a kitchen right under us that traps ALL the damn heat in our apartment making it stuffy and unbearable.

-They put up massive ventilation pipes right next to the window where I put my head to sleep that keeps making hellish train-moving noise all night.

-And the WORST part is obviously the non stop live singing that keeps going til 2AM in the morning. I'm talking loud, bass-heavy freaking chaabi that resonates throughout the entire apartment making it feel like we're literally sitting in the middle of a fucking wedding.

Apparently the owner of this bar is also very well connected with authorities and m9eddem etc. and has done the necessary to "put people in his pockets.

Now, I probably would be able to deal with this shit on my own or ignore it if I was living alone, but it's affecting my family members so bad.

I have a brother with Down Syndrome who can't sleep, my mom has serious health problems including heart disease and it's making her agitated and stressed, and my dad is a 70+ year old man who goes to work at 7AM.

Does anyone know what my legal options are? What does the law say? What are his rights and what are my rights? Is there anything I can do to get them to quiet down or at least stop the music at a reasonable hour? Who do I talk to?

Would really appreciate some help here.
