My dad took over my car

I (22M) been doing things on my own since i was 15 or 16, i bought my own car 4 months ago and now my father took advantage of me working from home and been taking it almost everyday.
It’s a very weird situation where you can’t really say no or something about it, it’s only because of a matter of respect to him, we don’t really have much issues i’m kinda living alone he doesn’t control anything about me, but the real issue to put you in context is: he’s not really taking care of it, whilst he’s financially stable he still takes the keys and brings the car back scratched or and out of fuel, two times bringing it flat tires, he doesn’t even bothers himself to tell you what happened. While it’s a decent car it’s not something you can just use like that.

FYI: I’m still living with my fam just because i have a perfect relationship with my mother and she helps preparing my meals for my diet, she’s being supportive and also my bestfriend. Moving out now is financially easy but would cause me to loose alot of time which i can invest in my work, for the moment.

Idk really how can i get him to stop taking it, m still living with him the easiest response would be: Living in my house and talking about using your car?

I am building a villa in countryside near Marrakech, how to find an interior designer/architect?

Hi! I am half moroccan and together with my dad we've bought a 1000m2 land with a garden and a partially built villa + swimming pool. We'll need to build another floor and also to design the garden, the swimming pool and the house, so I was wondering about how and where do you find interior designers or architects that can help us in designing the spaces. Also, does anyone have an idea about what the range of prices are here in Marrakech?

Thank you so much for your help :)

Why is real estate so expensive in Morocco (Salé)?

My family is looking to buy a new house (R+2). We’re not interested in a commercial property; we just want a calm and clean neighborhood to live in. In Salé, areas like Said Hajji, Hay Chmaou, Hay Salam, Hay Amal, and Sidi Abdellah are way too expensive. An 80m² R+2 house costs around 180m to 240m. The problem is that owners are asking for extremely high prices. If we do some simple math (cost of the land + construction), we see that they’re trying to profit 50% to 60% more than what they actually spent. The government needs to take action to address this issue.

Some sort of harissa sauce?

Hello. I was in Morocco some time ago and one of the things i remember fondly was the food. Most of it was really great. However, there was one thing that too me stood out, mainly because i didnt know what it was before. It was the small sauce that was given to almost every meal with some bread. I guess its some harissa sauce? But it also tasted a bit vinegary. So, my question is how do i make that sauce at home? I can buy harissa paste in stores, but what do i do with it?

Study Hifz&Arabic

Hey guys, I was interested in learning Arabic and doing my hifz. I unfortunately do not speak any Arabic dialect nor French, but am fluid in English and two other languages.
Are there any recommendations for where I could be supported as a foreigner or is it even recommendable in general?
If you have any other recommendations country wise, l'd be glad to learn.
Thanks!

Why most us Moroccans do this? ( go get tested and when all is well, we say we wasted money ) haha

So, today I went to see the doctor and I was like " I wanna do a full check up " so she basically gave me a bunch of tests including some STDs ) to do and they were expensive as fuck.

They got loads of blood from my hand, and I was like fine...

A few hours later I went back to the lab and got the results, everything was okay and then met my brother.

We were talking and then he said he was happy with the results. And I was like meh 😕 he asked why and I unconsciously said : all that money and blood to tell me everything works fine? 😂

He laughed so bad

Anyone gets that feeling? Haha

To be honest, I am glad all is well so... I wish everyone's well ❤️‍🩹

25 years old male, asking here because Moroccan people would understand Moroccan parents

Edit : he cares about it, for example few years ago he was mad I didn’t think of gifting him something, and we always celebrate all birthdays, he even asks me to always call my grandparents when it’s their birthday. This is the first time in my life he hasn’t said anything.

Marrying a foreigner as a moroccan

Hi guys so basically i was wondering if any of you had already talked about getting married to a non-moroccan to your parents. Im currently in switzerland and have had a girlfriend for the past 5 years and i talked to my parents about getting married but they seem not too enlightened by the news,as they would rather prefer a moroccan girl. Of course, my parents are above all but i just wondered if any of you guys already had this issue and what are your opinions on it? Thanks :)

Why are you proud to be Moroccan?

Literally! I never understood the aspect of being proud to be born in a country, whether it Morocco or anywhere else . In my opinion pride should be something that you've done , it's not your physical attractiveness, your family's name or wealth, or even your nationality... You have done nothing to achieve these .

I see people being proud because " Ibn batota is a Moroccan traveler ...." , what's that to you?

Anyone else feels stuck and not belonging to their surroundings? no friends.

Hi all,

I am Moroccan, I was living and studying abroad but recently settled back in Casablanca for work nearly 4 years ago. However, I still find it extremely challenging to make friends or good connections. As someone who is extremely motivated about life and growth (Gym, side-hustles with my 9-5 job, socializing and travelling), I find a HUGE lack of like-minded people here that you can exchange, grow and build a sense of community around mutual interests and push each other forward in life, as mostly in my age group (25-35 years) seem to be focused on superficial and stupid stuff. How can I "find my own tribe"?

This is something that I had before in France and the UK; as group of people/strangers that became friends based on the above-mentioned reasons and that is commongly motivated about growth and life, we used to go to Bali or organize trips during holiday together, also work/exchange advices and experiences. now I end up doing those by myself alone so not having any friends still is not the best thing for me right now

Can you get jailed if you kill someone in self defense in morocco?

I'm asking this because I've heard many opinions some say that somebody from their family went to jail because he killed someone that was trying to kill him, and others say that it is justified, any lawyers or someone with experience that can tell us which one is true.

Freelancing in Morocco as a Year 1 Master’s Student: Is It Viable?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently a first-year Master’s student specializing in comp. sci., and as I already have my bachelor's degree(Licence) I’m exploring ways to earn some extra income to support my studies. I’ve been considering freelancing as an option, but I have a few questions:

1. Is freelancing a viable way to earn money as a student in Morocco?
2. What skills or platforms would you recommend for someone starting out in freelancing here?
3. Are there any specific challenges for freelancers in Morocco, such as payment methods, local taxes, or market demand?
4. How can I balance freelancing with my studies effectively?

For context, I have a background in web development and experience with tools like Next.js, Laravel, and Sanity.io. I’m open to any advice, whether it’s about finding clients locally or working on international projects.

Thanks in advance for your guidance!
