My spoiled violent umemployed arrogant disrespectful so called Brother (21M) Have Insulted and bullies ME (M20) and my parents on several occasions. Literally ruined my plans to study aboard in France with he's exotic lifestyle, my parents said they don't have enough money and still pay for his sh**t instead of saving. This Year, he physically abused me (Details Paragraphes 7) I didn't lay hands on him so as not to give him any legal advantage, And didn't go or call the Police because I had no bruises. No reaction from my parents. And he physically abused my mother by grabbing her by the hair and pulled her face to the ground. No cops called. I reckon one day he's going to Physically Hurt One of us. Please Tell me how can I deal with him for the events statted above and for what can come.

Anyone here from Casa (to hang out)?

Hi i‘m visiting Casa from today til friday and would like to ask if someone is free to hang out. Preferably male and female, since its me (male) and my sister). We would feel safer if we were with someone who grew up in the area or currently lives there.

Background: me and my sis are moroccans who grew up in Düsseldorf, so people instantly recognize us as non-locals just from our looks

Shocked after child abuse on street

Salam,

I am shocked today to have experienced child abuse during my trip to Ifrane... There was a father mother and daughter (looking around 12 y/o). I walked just passed them and the father grabbed the daughter by her hair while she was trying to duck and he started slapping (almost punching) in her face FULL POWER. Luckily for her she covered her face good but it was so shocking to experience this literraly 30 cm from me..

Something in me wanted to punch this man but I noticed there were a lot of people and nobody did anything about it. Everyone was in shock...

Is this normal behaviour here? I have been 5 years abroad and never witnessed this in daylight before..

Btw the mother was ashamed but did not even say a word...

ANY moroccan in france who can help me

I am a moroccon student doing my double degree in a french bullshit business school, I was accused of frauding my thesis bibliography, Now they have decided to exclude me for 18 MONTHS TILL JULY 2026 and late fees to pay and a warning, I find it very unfair and discriminatory, I have tried to explain myself as an international student who has many struggles, a school debt to pay I can’t afford these sanctions neither financially nor emotionally. I have asked other french students who have been sanctioned in the past they said they were kicked out for a year or less. But given my situation my whole studies are fucked neither this one in france nor the degree i was preparing in morocco. I can’t stay hanged on till july 2026 Im fucking done and I can’t stop crying and thinking about it every fucking second, my family will deny me if i go back to morocco given that they had high hopes in me, mistakes do happen but the consequences where far beyond that’s a misuse of power for a school that claims itself as a school with the highest international dimension. I want to seek help for anyone or any organizations that can help me make an appeal please

Why there are many talentless/jobless/no education/no degree people who like to invent jobs?

I know this might sound messy but let me explain, I have seen so many people who like to invent jobs that aren’t needed nor supposed to be practiced we can even call them a scam. Examples : the so called semsar dyal dyour? Wtf why are you even here? The house not yours you just rob people and you have nothing to provide. I hope house owners start using their own phone number plus airbnb to ease things for renters. Number two: the ones who pretend to be car guardians? Excuse me? What is the annually tax we pay for? Clearly to use public places and to run your car with no issues? Plus i already have a camera in my car, i dont need no one watching my car!

Please Help Me (20M) Deal With This Abusive Arrogant Spoiled Brother (21M) who assaulte me and my mother and is wasting her money, my life, and our family.

I've never even thought about submitting my personnal problems in reddit ever before. I created this account to talk to you my fellow moroccans because you're the only ones who understand the complexity in the moroccan family and national law. Please help me any advice is very appreciated. If you don't want to read just jump to the Tl;dr but please comment your opinion.

We are a family of four: Father who is a retired professor, a working Mother and Me (20M) and My brother (21M). This MF in 2021 just stopped attending school didn't even show up in the Bac exam and just on his phone 24h/7days, doesn't leave the house, obssesed with washing his hands but rarely showers (Absurdity) and have a NeckBeardNest side of the room ( (https://www.reddit.com/r/NeckBeardNests/) ) full of bottles filled with bar soap and water.(We Share the same Bedroom). I just want to cry describing this Sh**.

He wastes my mother's money that can be used for my education:

All of this is his goddamn business the problem is he only eats Tuna and Spaghetti and Orange Juice and Biscuits. We are a low income family that we can't even afford to get me to conduct my studies in France. He uses a ton of Toilet paper (Literally finishes a box in 3 days (20dhs/3days in a low income family)).

On top of this, He Bullies Insults my parents and specially my mother He Abused her Physically in 2018 and 2024. And he Abused Me Physically in 2024:

The 2018 incident where he pushed my mother until she bumped a door and he on the floor with him still grabbing her by the collar, is blurry this all I can remember.

But in 2024 and in October while I am on School Vacation in the midnight I stepped outside the balcon I heard him Saying in a condescending manner: "RAH GELT LIK matbkach tkiss lia HWAYGI". I didn't even look back at him, because I stopped talking to him in 2019, and just continued looking at the street. He said "Ya l Microbe , Zam** Dial Lkhla". No Comment from me As I'm heading outside he choked me and called my dad the usual "Tlo9 mn khok". I told him after a long Oral Dispute with him using Curse Words and telling him that Nobody Gives a Damn about him I didn't touch his clothes and " Ana khayf 3la walidiya katktol fihom" and threating to call the cops. He literally took my shoes in front of me" Hak sir daba" and later re-choked me and the circles repeated on more time . No cops called . My parents didn't didn't do a damn thing even on the morning. I left to the School 2 days Later. I didn't put hands on him so as not to give him any legal advantage. And didn't go or call the Police because I had no bruises.

After two months my mother confronted him about the situation and he grabbed her by the hair and pulled her face to the ground. Believe it or not. This Below animal creature destroyed on my faith in humanity. No cops called, no reaction from her side. And She kept on giving him Big Money.

This week after coming back from my Grandpa Funeral. He Stormed at my mother "Chkoune Harek Sandla mn blasstha". He kept yelling at her and while I'm leaving our bedroom he yelled pointing his finger on my face " Nti li kastiha (to my mom) ola HADA" in a condescending ton. I didn't even look at him. She Tried to explain to him that's just a Sandal and He said "Siri Siri ola Nsabek" twice. She said "tsab walidik". He said "Siri Siri Nti za3ma matfrah Ma3amarni cheft chi wahda bhalek" (My mom jockingly curses from time to time while driving whichs normal he's just trying to break her mentally). she replied" Lah irdi 3lik" He said "ma3andi mandir brdak" she said " Yak" . He finally said "Chofi ghir kamartek kidayra".

I reckon one day he's going to Physically Hurt One of us. Please Tell me how can I deal with him for the events statted above and for what can come. He's a umemployed, terrible looking MF. He Respects no Parents no Law. Pure Arrogant Prick.

Morocco's most pressing issues that could be improved with a better foreign policy?

Ok so I have this interview for a scholarship where I have to justify why I chose International Affairs as a major. I would love to mjaor in this field mainly because of the subjects that it offers and that I love studying but this won't be enough to convince the selection committee, I need to prove to them that a degree in IA would help me as a Moroccan, help my country move forward and help solve tangible and existing issues. Now that I have to put it into words I can't really come up with something clear and precise in any sector, I know the situation is fucked but it's too fucked up to pin point issues, so my plea to you is to help a sister out and tell me of any precise issue that I (not specifically me but you know what I mean) could help improve with a major in international affairs.

Saw the wildest thing today.

Visiting family in Morocco and while stopping at a gas station on the highway a guy had a dog strapped to his car’s roof transporting him to Fez. For context it’s 42 degrees outside near Fez and he still had over 1.5hrs left to get there (it was also a puppy). I was so distraught, I couldn’t believe what I saw & yelled at the guy that the dog is going to die - he didn’t even give him water until I made a scene. I just can’t understand… these are animals, how are we treating animals this way in Morocco? Atleast if I was in Canada (where I live) I would have called the police but this is just one of the things here that needs to change (amongst others: healthcare, education, etc) if this country wants to continue to progress.

Tourists are walking wallets.

Hi.

I've spent some time with friends here, and I feel ashamed at how tourists are treated.

Here's a list, starting at the airport: customs officers alledgedly (...) asking for money, khetafa passing themselves as taxies and asking for a hundred mad more than taxies, "semi-touristic" restaurants with 2 menus and 2 price tags serving tajines with deep frozen fries, cabs/indrives refusing to give back change (and obviously we're not talking about a 15 mad fare paid with a 200 mad bill), red cabs inventing rules ("we don't work with meters since we serve tourists, it's 100 mad to go there, 200 mad to go there..."), prices hiking up everywhere except in hannout/supermarkets, club bouncers asking for euros (come on man, they understand what you're saying when you say "euros" in front of them! You just angered them and lost clients by being stupid), the list goes on.

Basically, they couldn't do anything on their own without being ripped off. I had to step in, let them know I'm a local, intimidating, scaring, scolding those people.

While visiting Morocco is a pleasant experience, I feel ashamed: what image do those people keep from us? I'd be in their shoes, I'd think the racist clichés about Morocco are the truth: vicious thieves and dishonest scumbags. I'm not angry because of the experience they've lived, I'm angry at how poor of an image we give them. I thought they'd see that Moroccans are welcoming, smart, opened, and that living here is worth it.

Please, don't bring up the "people have to make ends meet, life became expensive around here" defense. Go to any supermarket, you'll see security guys who live with 15 MAD per day, feeding their families with the rest. They're honest, hard-working people who are living a hunger game, who deserve better than that, and they don't spend their time complaining and justifying ripping off others, even if they should, given their position.

Also, don't bring the "same thing for tourists everywhere on earth". That's false, you don't see that in most asian countries for instance: not all countries are the same. Moroccans have a reputation. Plus, we didn't hang in touristic places (which means we've barely spent half an hour between the Hassan II mosque and mdina 9dima, didn't go to Habous...). I can't imagine how they're being treated in places like Marrakech.
