With family abroad, what do you miss the most?

Where I live there are many immigrants from Morocco.

For some reason, I thought of the many things I would miss if I left my homeland. Not only my family, but also the activities that are proper to me and my culture: gastronomy, local hobbies and all that...

I ask you: what do your relatives (or you if you are immigrants) miss in the destination countries?

Greetings!

Weird lawsuit.

Anyone knows law here?
My dad has a Car washing garage and he had a worker for like 7 years , when my dad needed him to work he quit and left my dad with shortage in workers , now it's winter and he came back and asked for work , my dad said no i already got enough wokers , now he came today threatening to sue my dad for firing him or either he give him 4k dh , my dad said the lawsuit will cost him 30k so it's better to pay 4k?
Is this true? Even tho we never treated that man bad and my dad payed him extra cuz he's old , now he just came biting him like that.

Edit: how to get a statement and sign it to make sure he never come back?

Why do most Moroccans when they think about starting a business they start a Coffee shop "9ehwa" ?

Why are Moroccans and especially zmagriya when they think of starting a business they start a coffee shop that does not contribute that much on developing the country, it only focuses on consumption

Why can't we just start to diversify the economy and start startups, companies, factories, trainning centers etc...

Projects that can benefit, share your experience with others, and develop the country

An average coffee shop will hire from 3-5 people at most, while you can start a company that can grow and hire hundreds of Moroccans and bring foreign currencies!

I don't say that no one does it there are people who do different industries, but there is this culture of: "jme3 lflos w dir mchro3 9ehwa, dir li ygablha w rta7"

My silent dad randomly dropped these bombshell infos while having dinner, now I find my house pretty unique.

You can't say " NOOOO "in Morocco.

Why do people make it difficult to say no? They often react with surprise or ask for explanations, sometimes even saying “Hchouma.” It’s also tough to hear “no” in return. For example, if you ask a friend if they're available, they might just ignore the question instead of saying no directly.

How to recover from bullying ?

Hello
I am 22f, when I was in middle school, some guys gave me a hard time, I was the new girl, I don't know if stating the story would be the right move, but I doubt that any of them use reddit.

I was a new student there, and I was top student the best at everything honestly and teachers loved me, first year went well, a guy one year older told me he liked me, and he kept trying to get with me for so much time it started to get annoying and he still didn't want to leave me alone, I thought ill date him and just make him lose interest, and that's what ended up happening I said yes, and I refused every request to meet him to talk him at school, to send him cute emojis and all the things couples do, and i ghosted him after in the summer so he stoppped talking to me.

A year after, he got into a messy fight with his friends, and they apparently started bullying him, I saw a comment of a guy who brought my name, he didn't say anything bad but I was so frustrated I responded, so they started bullying me as well, saying that I am ugly and stuff.

The thing is this deeply affected me, I remember crying so hard and not going to school, i went from top of class to average student, and my energy was so low I couldn't keep up with my friends it was a shit year so i changed schools afterwards.

I was already a shy person, but after this my insecurities grew, I became so closed, no confidence to talk to others, I remember walking through the corridor that day and some of my classmates were reading that stuff and laughing and I kept crying in class lol.

I truly never recovered from this, I still see myself as that ugly duckling, maybe I wasn't even ugly, but my confidence is still shattered, after years now I went to university and got a lot of attention, but I trust none of it, its like it means nothing to me, my bsf tells me I'm pretty but I feel like it's because she likes me and she's a good person.

I developed a habit of not leaving the house without wearing my eye contacts which is terrible for my eyes, bcs the main thing was that I wore glasses.

Yeah so I never believe anyone who likes me or says I'm pretty, I am unable to love myself because of the bullying it also happened once again in high-school, but for a different reason.

I became so paranoid of what people think of me or what they see in me, I avoid people to not get into drama.

I wish I could afford therapy but I can't and honestly I am not sure it would help anyways.

I don't know how to get out of this bubble of insecurity, it seriously limits me, I have no personality with people now.

Hello everyone. I have had an amazing time in Morocco. I bought this in Taghazout. The man on the stall had a few different colours/smells. He told me it is a solid perfume or can be used in the house. But I have forgotten what it was called. Do you know what the smell may be? It’s lovely smell.

Call your parents

I was taking a break from working out and I overheard an grey haired man probably in his mid 70s telling his son; كيف داير اولدي توحشناك.
No job or travel no high end clothing will give you a satisfaction you are chasing after. Make time and call your loved ones especially walidine. They can be gone before you know it and crying at the funeral won’t bring them back.
Check on them, they might say koulshi bikhir, hamdolah but it doesn’t mean they don’t want to hear your voices, feel your hugs.

Cost of living in morocco

Hello everyone,

Given the recent changes in purchasing power in Morocco and the rising inflation we're experiencing,

What do you think is the ideal income to support a household in Morocco?

Let's try to avoid extreme answers like "had lblad la ma kat dirch 20M f chhar rak ma 3ayech" or "lwa7ed rah selek rasou b 2000 dhs"

I'm talking about an income that allows a family of four to live decently and even make a small amount of savings.

If possible, please break down your budget and feel free to specify what type of job would provide this kind of income.

26 years old never worked

Hi everyone! I’m 26 years old, with a degree in Accounting and Management(F la FAC), but I haven’t been able to get a job yet. When I discuss working in jobs unrelated to my degree, like call centers or at BIM, my parents don’t support the idea and even get upset. We know that jobs paying more than 6K are hard to come by. I’d appreciate any advice, as time is passing, and I feel like I’m getting older without progress

My sister is depressed, how can I help!

My youngest sister is depressed, and I don't know how to help her. She used to be funny and love hanging out with friends, but now she doesn’t have any friends. It seems like she can't keep up with people and doesn’t reply to any texts on WhatsApp, which upsets her old friends or at least they don’t text her anymore. She doesn’t leave her bed and has become too lazy to study or do the activities she used to enjoy. She’s also become very shy and insecure. I’ve heard that she was diagnosed with masqued depression

Bref, I need your perspective on how I can help her
Ps : she is 20 and I'm 25

SOS my friend's dog went missing

Hello everyone yesterday around 2 pm my friend's dog went out of the house by accident and went missing in BD 2mars ain chok in Casablanca some people say that someone with a green Congo-like car found him with His leash and took him into his truck and drove away, my friend is still looking for CCTV around there so he can see the car information as he already called the police and put a complaint so as soon as he finds the information he will take them to the cops. so if anyone in Casablanca his father, brother, or husband brought him a white husky malamute with one blue eye and one brown eye with his leash know that he has its owners and they are desperately looking for him that dog is not just a dog to them he's a member of their family he also has a name and he's used and trained differently so whoever took him might not know how to treat him and make things more complicated from him, I repeat if anybody saw him or know who took him please either contact me or ask him to return it to the (Droggerie li t9diti mno sl3a u l9ity hdah lklb)
