Why are new electronics more expensive here than in other countries ?

Hey everyone,

I recently noticed that all the big brands like Marjane , Electroplanet , Fnac , Virginmegastore all sell their electronic at such a high price.
Why’s that the case ?

I wanted to buy a new switch for my little brother but wtf 4000 dh for a console that was released in 2017 when it costs 250 € in Europe , that’s crazy.
The same thing applies for phones , laptops , TVs etc..
Never understood that.

The cheapest bakeries are the best, fancy ones like la prunelle are overrated

I’ve had this thought for so long and was wondering if you guys shared the same idea.

I don’t understand why people go to these fancy bakery like amoud, la prunelle , la baguette française etc.

Their cakes suck. For me there’s nothing like 7alwat la crème, or forêt noire or that cake covered with almond paste. They are SO GOOD. And I never find them in fancy bakeries as if they are better than this.

Sure the fancy bakeries pastries like croissants are good but it’s over priced and I usually find better than them at bims oven ( I’m not even trying to be Funny). I can even find good croissants ( almond croissant ) in regular bakeries.

So what is the hype all about ?!!

This has been bothering me for sooo long lol.

Ma3endish L'Bac o kanwsal hta $2000/$3000 per month kifash hadshi?

Well, fash kunt f madrassa, I never cared about school; I was just going there. I was a bit below-average student because I was a bit smart but never a good one. I never studied anything in my house; I spent my time watching anime and TV shows, (used to do drugs but I'm clean now), deep inside me, I was never afraid, and I always believed in the idea of making money online.

in 2020 there was a guy called Sai Unes he had a paid course and since the pandemic started he made his course free to help people stay at home and learn something.

I found a WordPress course on his website and I started it, I learned it about 3 days I was already building my websites, then I saw a girl on Fiverr offering a WordPress blog creation service I purchased her service for $25 and I saw everything she did on the dashboard of my WordPress since I was already good at it, then I told to my self I can actually do what she did and even better.

I started offering my service on fiverr too for blog creation, within the first week I got my first client, I made $80 that month, I was growing up slowly, I kept on going till I started making $300 a month, I was really happy with that.

THEN FIVERR CLOSED MY ACCOUNT FOR SOME VIOLATION!

Well guess what? Yes I started a new one the day my account was closed I had 15DH in my pocket I live in tetouan by the way. I went to a place where they Sell Sim Cards I purchased a new one, created a new gmail and I went back home and created the account and listed 7 gigs for offering the blog creation, the first month of that new account I made $1000, I kept on working till now, Now the lowest I go in a month is $1300 then I know my account isn't doing good, the highest I made in a month was $2800!

That's the story for people who are not good at school never give up!

Reflecting on the Behavior of Some of Us in Morocco and abroad

Hi everyone,

I wanted to open up a discussion about something that personally concerns me and, I think, affects our image as a community. As Muslims, our behavior is supposed to be exemplary, guided by values of respect and honesty. However, I often see us drawing negative attention wherever we go. What’s the reason behind this?

It’s common to see people trying to deceive, lie, or play the victim just to take advantage of certain situations. In queues, for instance, there’s always someone trying to cut in with some excuse: one person because they’re pregnant, another because they have diabetes, someone else because they’re elderly, have children, or with a simple “sorry, I didn’t see you.” Or they tell you “hanya kamlin ghadi ndouzou” This nervousness to get ahead and avoid waiting their turn seems ingrained. Why is this behavior so frequent?

In many places, there’s a lack of respect for order or rules. In an international airport, it’s easy to recognize someone coming from Morocco by certain traits: if they’re alone, they have a fanny pack and sunglasses; if they’re in a group, they often carry excessive amounts of luggage, taking up seats with their bags. It seems like we always travel with an overload, both going and coming. Where does this mentality of excess and apparent lack of consideration come from?

This isn’t about judging everyone but about understanding and hopefully improving. I think we need to reflect on our behavior and how it impacts the perception others have of us. What do you all think? Have you observed the same? Do you think there’s something we can do to change this?

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Morocco it is the way it is because of Moroccans

When I talk about the problems of Moroccans, I often hear a concrete reason for why the country is the way it is: the king, the Jews, French and Spanish colonialism, Algeria, Polisario, the elite, capitalism, the West in general, Wahhabism...

However, even if some of the above reasons may have affected us, I sincerely believe that the main reason that makes a nation succeed or fail is its people. If all Moroccans moved to Japan and all Japanese to Morocco, Morocco would be more developed than Japan in a few decades, because the Japanese, despite their problems, would be able to build a better society. By people I mean the culture, the mentality, the way society is organized economically and politically. The examples are Algeria and Tunisia. Each country has its own system and history but in general we are very similar countries, because the people is similar.

All the problems we have are because they are caused by other Moroccans. Corrupt politicians, scammers, criminals, incompetent doctors and exploitative bosses, are all from Morocco and act this way because they have been raised in Moroccan society. Obviously, we are not the worst country in the world, and we have positive aspects as well.

There are exceptions where countries are lucky, like the UAE or Saudi Arabia, which we can all agree are rich only because of oil, and there are also countries that are unlucky because they have been invaded by a foreign country and are screwed for a reason that is not their fault.

It is not a "revolutionary" opinion, but it is not so obvious to many people who think that there are one or a few aspects that hold us back and that, if we addressed them, we would live in a developed country. "Moroccan is a great country, the only problem is ..."

Airbnb and the ban on unmarried couples

i’ve been trying to find an airbnb for an upcoming visit to many cities, and the amount of listings that still adhere by the regulations that moroccan unmarried couples are prohibited is just insane, knowing that the minister himself came clean about this topic, and there was a big clarification in the news.

if the issue is affecting hotels and hostels, then i’m pretty sure Airbnb are included too?

why are the hosts in such online services (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) still holding on at changing their internal regulations?

I’m Moroccan and planning to visit Algeria soon to marry an Algerian woman.

I’m a Moroccan living in Dubai, and I recently connected online with an Algerian woman. She’s Kabyle and lives in Algiers, and we’ve fallen in love. I’ve also grown fond of her family. I’m planning to visit Algeria this year to meet her and her family in person. To make that happen, I’ve already applied for a visa and am currently waiting for the consulate’s response.

However, my family is a bit concerned—not about her, but about my safety. They’re worried something could go wrong when I travel to Algeria. I’ve come across some news reports about Moroccans facing difficulties with airport authorities, either upon arrival or when trying to leave.

Here in Dubai, I get along well with Algerians; in fact, I have Algerian friends, and our cultures and people feel so similar. One of my Algerian friends just married a Moroccan, and they seem to be doing fine, though they also hold French citizenship, which might make things easier for them.

The main issue is my fear for personal safety given the tense relations between Morocco and Algeria. I’m also wondering about the long-term implications of marrying an Algerian. Would this mean constant visa applications every time I visit her family, even after we’re married?

This situation is really weighing on me, and I’m unsure of what to do. Has anyone been in a similar cross-border marriage recently? What advice would you give?

The more we value our Amazigh brothers, the more we would be prosperous as a society.

So I've been following the Ilyas el Malki thing on social media lately, and it brought a lot of controversy.

My thoughts on the matter is, we Moroccans are a beautiful mixture of amazigh/arab/subsaharian ethnicities.

I'm from the south (Laayoune) and we're tribal by nature. But the Amazigh speaking brothers I met and their families treated me with outmost repect and love. I spent a period thinking we're the same tribe, just speaking different languages (which is a thing with nig tribes in the South and sub sahrian regions).

All that being said. The more we value Amazigh cause they are the ones who generously shared their lands with other ethnicities. The more we as a moroccan society would be homogeneous and prosperous.
