* Favoring a defensive posture over a belligerent one
* Tit-for-tat: Ramping up support for Kabyle/MAK separatism to counter support to Sahrawi/POLISARIO support, and the risks of it backfiring in the Rif
* Risks of implosion of the Algerian regime and contingency plans in the face of a desperate and unpredictable hostile foreign military looking for a scapegoat.

3. France
* French economic interests in Morocco as a guarantee of support against Algerian aggression
* Potential disputes to keep in mind going forward: Competition in subsaharan Africa (especially in Banking), diversification of suppliers and economic partners (China, Spain, etc.), going nuclear with Russia's Rosatom, risks of a new rapprochement attempt with Algeria, Migration and MREs, French in schools and business.

10. China: Imports, investments and navigating rising Western protectionism. If Hungary can't get away with it then Morocco sure as hell can't. Rubber tires anti-dumping european court ruling case
11. India: A good market and a massive trade surplus, opportunities to develop the phosphate-based fertilizer industry with exports to an agrarian economy
12. Mercosur: A natural practically nonexistent economic partnership

I’m Urgently sick but Don’t have an AMO what should I do?
So I am sick this past week and now, I have difficulty swallowing and breathing at time but what made i worse is the weakness on my body and half my body ( left one )is weakned with tingling on the left side of the head, last night I experienced that on my right side too along side partial paralysis on the left side for 2 hours and something and some involuntary moves, my question here is there anyway to access and emergency service without AMO or money, because I have none of both or should I just accept my faith? thank you for your answers in advance.

Doesn't the emergency service (15) supposed to help in case something happens at home?
So yesterday I was at home, when the neighbours came shouting that a elder women was chocking and asking for help, I called the emergency number 15 and here how it went:
- Salam 3alikoum, khouya rah wahd siyda mkhnou9a makatnfsech, hna kaynin fhad lblassa, 3afak ila momkin chi ambulance.
- fina blassa bdebt, ah wach rakum fdar?
- Ah, siyda kant katakl o w9e3lha hadchi

- wlmn n9der n3yt li y9dru yjiw 3ndna wla y3awnuna rah siyda katmout whna ma3rfin mandiru (hna bntha mskina katghwet wgalt bli raha kant f clinic hadi chi yamat)
- wach siyda kant f clinic?

- ah, ewa 7na man9drouch nthnlou ms2olytha, khaskoum t3ytu l clinc hwa li ytklf wla ysiftulkum ambulance dialhum.
- wach kayn chi nmra khra wla chi service li n3ytulhum y3awnuna?
- la akhouya, makaynch li yji 3ndkum ldar choufo m3a l clinic hwa li ytklef.
- wakha mrehba.
I was looking at her daughters, her husband kaychhed liha, wjiran ma3arfin maydiru, with so many questions in my head, aren't the emergency numbers here to help in case something happens, or at least to guide you?
One of the neighbours was able to help after she put her hand in the womens through and removed food hardly as the women was unconscious and she was better after then someone from family came and took her to the hospital.
Now, I'll be sure to go and take first aid classes after this, so I would be able to help in case something happened as I didn't know what to do, but the interaction with the emergency servixe left me speechless.

Used car prices have ridiculously skyrocketed. Why?
I'm looking to buy a used car, but whenever I ask about the price I get shocked of how ridiculously high they are! Like how on Earth is a 20-year-old car for sale for more than 80% of what it used to be sold for as new back when it was first released?

Can someone explain what Haram means in this situation?
I recently visited Morocco as a female tourist with a big group of American women, me being the only foreigner in the group, as I am from Brazil. We were walking through Fes and someone called me something. I know to ignore when strangers say stuff, but this guy kept saying Haram, and pointing to my head. I don’t understand what happened. He literally didn’t say a thing to the other women. I was the only one in the group wearing long sleeves and loose long pants, the other women were dressed like they would in America. I feel like I was singled out. So much so that it was hard to ignore, so we went into a store waiting for the guy to leave. I don’t like attention on.myself, so I was a bit embarrassed and didn’t pay too much attention to details about him or anything that could identify him. I don’t understand what happened but it didn’t seem to be a good thing by how he was saying it.
Can someone explain what he could have meant? I have Moroccan ancestry, as a lot of Brazilians do, so I try to be extra respectful when I’m there. I’m not Muslim, but I do look Moroccan. Could that have something to do with it? I don’t understand what Haram is, Google says it’s about modesty. However, there is no way he was calling me immodest. Is there?? The only thing showing were my hands, my face and my hair. How is that Haram? Are there other meanings to that word?
I was a bit bummed as I enjoy going to Morocco to reconnect with a long forgotten heritage. I was raised with zero awareness of Islam, and going there always felt a little bit like home. This time, I didn’t feel welcomed. Fes felt a bit intimidating, not gonna lie. My American friends were treated great, but there was definitely a different attitude towards me. Do Moroccans not like Brazilians by any chance?

Curious about women’s perspectives on not working
Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! I’m curious about how people view work and study in Morocco, especially women who choose not to work.
What are some of the reasons behind this choice? Is it a preference for other aspects of life like family, personal projects, or something else? Or is it related to how you feel about work or studying, such as finding it stressful or not enjoyable?
I sometimes find studying and working tiring myself, so I’m curious about how others navigate this balance. I’d love to hear your perspectives!

What are some aspects of ancient North Africa (pre islamic) that still live to this day?
I have this image in my mind that North Africa changed drastically after Arabs invaded the region, but i guess the native language is still here (tamazight, although dying, its still living) but what other aspects of our culture/society are still common to this day?
Like for instance the other day i came to discover the African Romance language and i found it pretty cool.
But yeah, any thoughts?

Travelling to Marrakesh
Hello everybody.
Me and my group of friends decided to visit Marrakesh starting with 2nd January 2025.
It’s our first time in Morocco and we come from an eastern european country, so there are some cultural differences (at least) I’m not knowledgeable about.
Some of us enjoy photography, as in NOT shooting by phone but using a mirorless camera. Is that going to be something considerated offensive or inappropiate in Morocco? Do locals get angry about it or they are used and don’t bother you? (I’m not speaking about sticking a camera in front of their face, just general, mostly architectural photos)
Also, we read that the girls should be dressed as decent as possible, as this is a muslim country and there are differences in this regard. Where do you consider this “barrier” of being too “different” for locals be? For example, is a skirt a big no no or it’s a “meh”?
And third, how safe it is to randomly go around the city and discover places? Some of us enjoy doing this even at night, so if you could please give different answers based on the time of the day it would be great
Those 3 are my biggest curiosities. Please feel free to give me whatever advice you might consider useful in visiting Morroco.
In case this post offended anyone, I’m sorry. Just trying to learn stuff about a new culture I’m not that familiar with.
thanks a bunch!

Attempting to respond to daily "Morocco sucks" posts: A project
Salam everyone,
After coming across [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Morocco/comments/1gr4d1n/morocco_will_never_improve_due_to_moroccans/) ~~yesterday~~ some time ago, and seeing u/lee_hwaq's comment:
>your daily morocco suck post i would love to see solutions
I decided to make a post about a book I'm outlining on what I, a layman, think are Morocco's various and quite numerous woes, and how I think they can be approached.
So as to not be shady, in the book, in each chapter, I will first provide an analysis with what I perceive to be problems and, more importantly, why I think so, and what I would consider to be an ideal state of affairs. Then I will state a strategy, solution or approach to the issue that seems feasible to me, to get from where we are to where I'd like us to be, or as close as realistically possible in the given context. I do this because for example, an Islamist and a Feminist might agree that the state of women in Morocco is horrendous, but for opposite reasons, so it helps to say *in* *what way* one considerns something to be a problem, and *why*.
Below are the chapters of the book, along with some chaotic notes for myself (order and chapters may be revised). Please let me know if there's something that you think I should look at, or any thoughts that you may have.
1. **Education and Literacy**
1. The Language Question(s):
* Darija vs Arabic: The language continuum and dialectal differentiation, diglossia and linguistic borrowing from Amazigh, French and Spanish. The impact of being condemned to learning in an essentially foreign language. Assessing the feasability and desirability of attempting to standardize Darija vis-à-vis the Arabic-speaking world, Islam, and the Maghreb
* Arabic vs Amazigh: How is our bi-national identity faring in the face of centralization and homogenization? and what is the impact of the elevation of Amazigh to official status? Exploring various cases: Spain's autonomous regions, France through the ages (From Picardy to Corsica, from Guyana to Tahiti), Turkish Kurdistan, Iranian Azerbaijan, Guangzhou (Canton). Switzerland, Belgium, Friesland, Ireland, Taiwan, maybe India?
* French vs English: France, Québec and Françafrique vs The rest of the world
* Spanish: 2 (or 20) birds with one stone? Aka opportunities in Iberia and LatAm thanks to Morocco's geographical position and shared history with Spain
2. Curriculum: How does she (Finlanda) do it?
* Decrease bloat, increase effciency, reduce hours whenever possible, student psychology and estimate ideal number of hours, ideal number of days, extracurricular activities, enjoyment of learning, freedom to choose vs market demand
* Compliance with EU and International degree equivalence rules for HS and Uni degrees
2. **Economy, standard of living and health outcomes**
1. Staffing, funding and qualifications for public services: What we should learn from France and... Cuba
2. The private sector lobby
1. Funding of services and nationalisation of sensitive industries: What we shouldn't learn from France and... Cuba 2 Electric Boogaloo
1. Amenities
2. Health insurance
3. Retirement
4. ONCF and urban transport, and the making the most out of the fortunate geographical spread of Morocco's urban centers
5. OCP
2. Food subsidies: Keep the principle but implement it better so the money goes to those who need it the most instead of companies.
3. Foreign investment, market attractiveness and capital flight
1. Banking
2. Employee stock options and the worker cooperative model
3. Keeping capital happy while avoiding a race to the bottom against international labor
4. Falling fertility rates, brain drain, general emigration and MREs: Climbing up the value chain and automation.
5. Land reform, construction and housing
3. **Geopolitics**
1. Algeria: Minimum credible deterence
* The Maghreb's lost economic potential
* Military spending in an arms
I need friends
I'm really looking for a New friends to hang out with in salé and also play vidéo games with especially (overwatch-cs2-valorant-tf2) since there is no moroccan gamers I'm my college.

What do you think about having kids?
Hey everyone
I’ve been thinking a lot about whether I want kids, and honestly, I’m not sure if it would be fair to bring a child into the world right now. With how expensive everything is and how tiring life feels, I’m not sure I could give them the stability, time, and attention they deserve.
It’s hard to ignore the fact that the world seems full of struggles, and even if people have a stable financial situation, it would still be difficult. I’m trying to be as objective as possible here—I’m not depressed or anything, I just want to make sure I’m thinking this through logically.
I can’t help but feel that past generations have sometimes been unfair—or even careless—about their decisions to have kids, whether by accident or not fully considering the impact. It feels like we’re seeing the consequences of that everywhere: mentally struggling individuals, lost teenagers, and confused young adults. Fin ma mchiti, and it’s heartbreaking to witness.
But at the same time, I think there’s a growing awareness now about how important it is to approach parenthood with intention. It’s clear that bringing a child into the world should not be taken lightly, and I’m glad people are starting to acknowledge that.
Has anyone else felt this way? How did you come to terms with the decision to have (or not have) kids? Don’t hesitate to share your opinion. Thanks!

why no black real black Friday in morocco : legally speaking
i mess up the title but u get it :(
since the last post got so much attention and lot of you liked it every time i have time i will share with you a legal trick or advice that will make your life maybe better today we gonna talk about :
- why it’s impossible to have black Friday like in usa / Europe .
so i noticed that in morocco we never have an actual black friday like in the usa iphones 16 going for 300 dollars and stuff like that - BECAUSE ITS ACTUALLY ILLEGAL and you need a lot of documents to be allowed to do it
let me explain in moroccan law it’s considered illegal to sell without profit and there is many cases where companies where fined hundreds of millions for doing that in morocco
so practically if we both sell iphones you can drop the price so much to the point where i can’t sell nothing and go bankrupt and thats exactly why it’s illegal so companies will actually sue you for selling without profit
if you have a legal question leave it i will make a post about it

My therapist made me feel awful
Hi guys, I had a situation with my therapist and could use your help to figure out whether I was in the wrong.
I’ve been seeing my therapist for almost a year now. I really liked her and felt safe with her. However, last Wednesday, I went for a session at the end of the afternoon and was sent back because the doctor couldn’t take in any more patients. This was unexpected because I always come at that time and never had issues, but I didn’t make a big deal out of it and just left. I was disappointed but tried to take my mind off it.
The next day, her receptionist called me and asked if I could come in anytime that day. I asked her to push it to Friday since I had a day off, and she said okay. I requested 11 a.m. for the appointment, and she agreed but told me to come much earlier just in case. I asked why, and she started explaining how they can’t guarantee appointments and that if an unexpected patient shows up unannounced, they’ll prioritize them, even if other appointments were already scheduled.
I stayed quiet but felt frustrated. Later, when she texted me on WhatsApp to confirm, I sent a couple of audios expressing my frustration. I told her that I’ve always respected my appointments, arrived early, and still ended up waiting for an hour or two on average. I explained that I wanted a fixed schedule because I didn’t want to waste my day off waiting and that if they couldn’t provide that, I would need my record to see a different doctor. I felt a bit demanding but was genuinely frustrated.
She replied by shifting the blame onto me, saying I came late and that they prioritize new patients to avoid turning them away. I ignored her explanation to avoid further conflict and asked for confirmation of the 11 a.m. appointment. She said, “Sure, don’t worry.”
The next day, I arrived 30 minutes early. The receptionist called the doctor to let her know I was waiting, mentioning my name several times. It turned out the doctor hadn’t even arrived yet. She came in at 11 a.m. and needed time to settle and grab coffee. I didn’t mind that, but the session that followed was disappointing.
I wasn’t feeling great and rambled a lot during the session. She wasn’t her usual cheerful self—she had a cold, so I understood that—but she looked at me like I was wasting her time. At the end of the session, she didn’t provide any valuable feedback. She just prescribed a higher dose of my medication and told me she was transferring me to one of her younger employees, a psychologist.
This felt like punishment for speaking up. When I went back to reception to pay and confirm my next appointment, I was shocked to be charged nearly double what I’ve been paying for a year. They said it was because this was a therapy session and not a consultation. I tried to explain that it was no different from what we’ve been doing all year, but they didn’t budge.
The receptionist also started boasting about the younger psychologist, saying my therapist likes giving younger people a chance. It felt like I was being pushed aside so she wouldn’t have to deal with me anymore.
I was treated poorly, overcharged, and left feeling like I didn’t matter.
Was I in the wrong? Do therapists act like this? What would you recommend I do moving forward?
Sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance for your help.

Self-Defense on your own land in Morocco.
Hello, I'm a Moroccan and Foreigner meaning I don't live permanently in Morocco, only on vacations. We recently bought a 10 acre (1 hectar) land that we plan to build a house and small farm on. We are worried about people coming over our fences at night or any of that and I was wondering what are some ways that I can defend my land from people trespassing or thief's. Such as having barbed wire fences and such security things. And what is the law on self defense if there was an armed trespasser on my land, despite the posted no trespassing sign?
