Buying a house without a mortgage in Morocco

Hello everyone! I'm wondering if there's any moroccans who managed to buy their house/apartment without a mortgage? If so, how long did it take for them.
I'm talking about middle income not the rich or those who inherited.

Is 1000 MAD enough?

I’m a foreigner living abroad, and I have a friend in Morocco who was recently fired from his job. He has no money left in his account because he was waiting for his paycheck, but they fired him before he could be paid. I'm considering gifting him some money so he can buy necessities until he finds a new job. However, I don’t have much to give if I’m being honest i only has $100, which is almost 1,000 MAD. Will that be enough for him to get by for a week or two?

How do you feel about Islamic education?

In Morocco, Islam is taught as a subject in schools, and everyone has to pass the regional exam for it. This means that, regardless of your religion, you're expected to learn Islamic teachings. The grade you get in this subject is therefore used for your BAC grade, same as arab, history, philosophy and geography.

So what do you think? What's your opinion the subject being taught mandatorly and what not?

Happy Independence day!

I hope you are all enjoying the عطلة !
I just wanted to ask where I can find some good resources for information about the history of this day.

I have unfortunately forgotten most of what I learned in تاريخ و جغرافيا 😅. The source can be of any kind: book, YouTube video, documentary... Whatever you guys think is best. Thanks 👍

What are some ways to tell someone “I’m just joking”?

How would you say, in Darija, “I’m just joking”, as in: “don’t take what I’m saying seriously”?

Back to Morocco!

After living in the US for over 20 years, I decided to move back to Morocco with my family. I honestly don’t even know how we pulled it off, but here we are in Rabat! My kids are homeschooled, and I work CST hours, usually from 2pm to around 10 or 11pm, depending on the day. Despite the adjustments, I’m really enjoying it here. My family is still getting used to the change, but we all love how affordable everything is.

Right now, I’m back in the US for some work workshops. Meanwhile, we have help at home, with someone assisting with cooking and cleaning. But here’s the thing I didn’t quite anticipate—people. Our house is always full of visitors, from friends to close family to extended family. And since I work afternoons, it’s been tough to focus. I don’t mind having people over, but I just don’t know how to set boundaries without coming across as rude. Honestly, I’m just venting a bit.

I bought a hard drive and turns out to have previously belonged to a French family

So I bought this HDD 320 Gb yesterday from sou9 l7ed (aka black market of oujda lol), I bought it for 20dh, the thing is, it already had windows vista installed on it + it had 22gb of personal pictures of the family, The pictures were taken from 2003 to 2011 so basically the hard drive has been left untouched from 2011 to the day I bought it, I don't need the hard drive, just bought cause it was cheap. Now I didn't want to erase the drive as it seemed like the data could be important to the family, so I'm trying to find them but unfortunately I only know their first names (Dominique, flora, sandra, Victor...) and their faces from 13 years ago. The family been in Morocco twice once in 2007 and 2011, I know all this cause they named the folders according to the places they visited and the year the did, and They've been in manyyyy places (countries, cities all over the world), which is nice. What am I supposed to do ? Should I erase everything and call it a day ?

Why a doctor is not responsible in case you die : Legally speaking

When two people make a contract, it creates obligations, but not all contracts create the same type. The two main types are

- Obligation de résultat (obligation of result):
This applies when someone guarantees a specific result. For example, when you take a taxi, the driver must drop you at your destination. If they don’t, they’re clearly at fault, and proving it is simple.

- Obligation de moyen (obligation of means):
This applies to doctors. They don’t promise to heal you; they promise to do their best based on their skills and knowledge. If you die during surgery or treatment, the doctor isn’t automatically responsible unless it can be proven they were negligent or made a mistake.

Why does this matter?
The burden of proof (la preuve) is different:

- In an obligation de résultat, failure is easy to prove because the promised result wasn’t achieved.
- In an obligation de moyen, it’s much harder. The patient (or their family) must prove the doctor didn’t do everything reasonably expected. This requires strong evidence, like showing the doctor acted against medical standards or made a clear error

if you have any questions just put them in the comments i will help you understand this concept more

Note : i’m sure some will ask how can we prove that the doctor committed a mistake “ la due diligence “ is the answer i can explain it in the next post if you are all interested

Cheap Places to get eSIM?

I’m traveling to Morocco from the US for 12 days and would like to know my options for internet.

With my current plan I get unlimited 256 kbps with my T-Mobile plan. My spouses T-Mobile plan does not have any international internet

So far there are 2 options I am exploring.

1. Through my carrier I can get 5GB “high speed” internet for 10 days or 15 GB for 30 days, $35 USD and $50 USD respectively. Including free calls

2. Using Airalo 5GB internet only for 30 days for $32USD

I’m sure there are much cheaper options in local stores in Morocco and I’d like to know information on that

I also heard in Casablanca airport they offer free sim just not sure if there’s an eSIM option.

Development Plans: Modern architectural ugliness, solutions and their constraints due to current and potential economic injustice
2. Tourism, cuisine, the hospitality industry, and confronting sexual tourism in its various forms
7. **Water, climate and renewable energies**
1. Water management: Dams, desalination plants and the agricultural sector
2. Solar plants, green hydrogen, Xlinks and becoming an energy supplier
3. Technological innovation: Solar-desalination synergy, Green hydrogen?, cloud seeding, Aeroponics, phosphate-based fertilizers
4. Green Spaces and Desert Greening

For me this will be a learning journey as much as it will be an opportunity to express myself on various topics, so I'm very interested in hearing what you think about the various subjects that I'm planning on exploring with my limited knowledge and understanding as a non-expert. This isn't really to prescribe solutions, though I will do that (and I expect and welcome criticism and counter-suggestions), but it's more to bounce ideas off people and get a critique of my thoughts.

Have a nice day!
