How to make friends in Tangier

So I’m (m29) Moroccan living in Amsterdam. I go to Morocco every once in a while but I don’t really have any friends in Morocco. I would very much like to make friends in Tanja, I’m going there next week for a while. How would you guys advise to go about it? Would love to get some recommendations! Thanks.

ضاهرة تطبيقات الدردشة, و الحقيقة وراء كل شيئ / Voice chat apps, Gambling , and the truth behind all of it.

Please, everyone, this is a heads-up and a little warning to people that use voice chat apps.

Most of the time, these apps are Chinese companies. These companies 'apps' open offices and operate and deploy operators mainly in Morocco, Egypt, and other Middle Eastern countries. I don't know how their companies get approved and get the papers to open offices in the first place. the company might be 'sun-rise technologies' but in reality its a Trojan, scamming people and spreading malware, maybe a weak or loophole they found and are abusing, They are using the fact that they are in morocco and have an office in morocco to gain that trust from users and seem legit, while hiding the true intentions which are : stealing Data, spying, access to camera and mic even when not using the apps, in case one device installs that app and it connects to a new network they can affect the internet router, then affect other devices on the same network. then have all the data sniffed through vpn's to their data base, after some time the application starts checking for crypto wallets and starts crypto-miners in the background , and that*'*s why users will notice unusual and very high data usage, and battery drainage, its because crypto miners and other malware is running in the background.

the way they are avoiding googles detection

They keep the app files clean , but the malware is stored on servers that the app communicates with after some time. That's how they avoid Google's detection . These apps also help in money laundering and encourages people to gamble.

It is a war—a cyber war.

A Simple scan of the apk files on virustotal , shows all the communications the app makes. and these are some of the files dropped.

understanding the legal concept of : Act of god

So while you read your inwi contract or any type of contract you will usually find this clause

clause de force majeur or what we call act of god

simply it’s a type of clause that protect parties in case of an extreme event that make the contract impossible to execute so the other party can’t ask for repérerions because simply the contract is impossible to execute
- exemple :
À and B signed a contract to deliver a tv then an enemy invasion happened, how the hell do you expect B to show up while a war . here A can’t ask for reparations because it’s impossible to execute the contract .

why should you care about it ?

while yes i made this extreme exemple of enemy attack but in some contracts you will find the other party giving other meanings to the act god

exemple : you and B signed a contract to clean your house , B might add in the contract , ( it’s considered as act of god strikes ) so here B can refuse to execute the contract not only that you can’t ask for reparations

to put it simply just read the contract and make sure they don’t add some events that might actually happen like a strikes or stuff like that , specifically if the contract gonna last for more than 6 months

any Questions ask them in the comments
my english is bad ik i’m working on it :(

That One Time My Grandma Outsmarted the Entire Souk

Growing up in a small village near Tan-Tan, my grandmother was known as the ultimate souk negotiator. She had a reputation for getting the best prices, and it wasn’t just about her bargaining skills—it was the drama she brought to every transaction.

One day, she took me to the souk to buy a sheep for Eid. She picked out the fattest sheep in the pen, the kind that makes you imagine msemen soaked in its glorious fat. The seller took one look at her and, recognizing the master negotiator, jacked up the price by at least 50%.

What followed was nothing short of legendary.

Grandma feigned heartbreak like a seasoned actress. She clutched her chest and said, “This poor sheep is so skinny, it’s going to die before we even reach home!” She then turned to me and whispered loudly enough for the seller to hear: “Do you think this man feeds his sheep sand?”

The seller, taken aback, began defending the sheep, insisting it was healthy and fat. But Grandma wasn’t done. She squatted next to the sheep, staring it down, and muttered something about “souks these days being run by amateurs.” A small crowd gathered—because in Morocco, souk drama is better than Netflix.

Then came the twist: Grandma pretended to leave. “Come, boy,” she said to me, “let’s go find a REAL sheep, not this skeleton!” And just as we turned, the seller panicked and yelled, “Fine, take it for the price you want!”

She ended up getting the sheep for half the asking price. The crowd applauded. She casually handed me the rope and walked off, muttering about how kids these days needed to learn proper souk etiquette.

To this day, I think that sheep tasted better because it came with a side of Grandma’s epic negotiation skills.

Taking and paying my teenage nephew to therapy bcz his father is an enabler and he ruined him

Hi

So long story short.

My sister married a douche a while back and thats her choice and its to be respected, they have a 13 years old kid who is EXTREMELY aggressive physically and verbally to the point where we worry that he might be in a problem with the law. In addition to this, we noticed him also watching prn and sharing stuff on his insta (I dont know why he has an insta to begin with)

He still wets his bed at the age of 13 and he tried to str
ngle his younger female cousin with a pillow once, and he also opened gaz in the house once and left it. I worry sick about him.

He repeated two grades in primary school and teachers are complaining and he is not phased ONE BIT

His father enables this and goes against any boundaries my sister put in place any sort of disciplinary action and he even enables his behavior by taking his side always and he REFUSES to pay for his therapy/doctor’s

I decided to go back to my hometown during new years eve and take my teenage nephew myself to a doctor and pay for his appointments and medicine myself and I got my mom and his mom (my sister) conscent to take him

I feel at lost and extremely worried that he will ruin his life, literally!

Do you think I am overstepping my boundaries in your opinion????

Note that I have been financially supporting before as my brother in law is very greedy even for the basic things like his kid s clothing or school supplies and if he gets better, I plan to let him come live with me at the age of 18 for better education/future (I cannot do it now as he is a minor and very much for me to handle)

Is Marrakech losing its authenticity due to over-tourism?

I’ve been reading about how popular destinations like Marrakech are adapting to the influx of tourists. Some argue that it’s modernizing too quickly and losing its traditional charm, while others say it’s a natural evolution. What do you think? Is the balance between tradition and tourism being maintained, or are we losing something important?

How to meet someone decent these days?

I was wondering how do you guys meet decent partners? I have tried apps, activities, but nothing seems to work. I only get approached by people I'm not interested in. It feels like if you're a girl, there isn't much you can really do, you just have to wait and it's frustrating.

Modesty in morocco

for context i did grow up in Rabat while we are not rich we not poor either so i did grow up in somehow the upper class . and i noticed while going up that for either men or women it was considered being liberal like showing too much skin for girls or acting like a dumb ass and sleeping around for men was always linked to being rich

islamic = m3a9d
liberal = rich ,cool

but in the past two years i went to fes to study a master degree while studying, i did meet the actual rich class for the first time since i’m not really someone who talk a lot and i take good care of my looks i did blind in and noticed some things that actually changed my views

1. french is not the language of the rich or the educated, it might sound stupid but the ultra rich in morocco talk either darija or Arabic and you won’t even believe how educated and cool they sound when they speak that perfect Arabic

2 . modesty , while yes the real fasi people dress up and show some skin time to time but it’s just in some places like they will never wear a revealing clothing in uni ( unlike in Rabat uni where people literally show up naked ) and once i was talking to a girl about and she literally said : أنا مشي رخيصة باش يبقا يشوف فيا لي سوا و لي ما يسواش

3. Marriage , i think 6/10 of the girls that study with me between 22-25 are already married while in other cities this might sound like too young but here in fes it’s considered just a logical thing if there is a man who is financially responsible why not let them marry .

note : i’m here just sharing my experience don’t attack me for it

if you had different experiences please share them with us

Moroccan men living in France, do you feel less "masculine" when speaking french?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if I’m the only one who feels this way or if other Moroccan men in France experience the same thing.

When I speak French, sometimes I feel like I lose a bit of my “charisma” or masculinity. It’s hard to explain, but maybe it’s because of the differences between Darija (or even Classical Arabic) and French. In Darija, there’s a certain way of expressing yourself that feels more “rough,” more direct, maybe more “manly.” French, on the other hand, often feels “softer” and more formal to me.

What’s worse is that this feeling is starting to make me dislike the French language a little. It’s not just about how I speak, but the way I feel when I’m speaking it—it doesn’t feel like “me.”

Does this happen to you too? If so, how do you deal with it?

Maybe it’s just a matter of perception, or maybe it’s a result of the stereotypes we associate with each language.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Jet Skiers affair with Algeria, Ismail Snabi tells the whole story from his pov

https://x.com/Le360fr/status/1862493234380918975?t=NdrO2h2vDUH1b0lTKG_NuQ&s=19

Ismail Snabi, a jet-skier arrested by the Algerian coastguard, tells how he was tortured to the daily newspaper "Le Monde"

A nightmarish story that illustrates the visceral hatred that the Algiers regime has for Morocco and Moroccans

An extract of the article :
« Je me mets à chahed comme si mon heure était arrivée, et là j’entends: "T’es juif, pourquoi tu chahed?"»

What do you think about this Algerian Regime (and the algerians following the hatred propaganda as you can see in their subreddit)

Do you (will you) split the expenses with your significant other

Lately all my friends are getting married. So discussion about expenses are quite frequent. From what i could see there’s 5 ways of doing things :

- 1 simple but controversial : split by half all the expenses : this means that if the gap between the two salaries is big one will be more pressurised

- 2 percentage : calculate the percentage of contribution from the salaries meaning if one is getting 1k and the other is getting 2k well the first will pay for 1/3 and the other 2/3

- 3 the bigger pays all : when the gap is significant the one with the big salary pays it all

- 4 the patriarch : the man pays everything regardless of his wife’s salary

- 5 all in : merge everything both salaries, pay the bills then decide what to do with the rest

What do you think about that, and why?

Let’s try to keep the religious arguments away as it is clear and straightforward and doesn’t allow discussions.
