How do you certify to be Muslim?
Someone told me that it all depends on what you believe in, so in a nutshell I'm one, as long as I identify as such?

Atay, B’naana, or naana?
Hello,
My entire life I have been eating couscous and hearing my mom say “Enalabook” (idk if I’m spelling it right) and seeing older family members wear caftans and Djellabas. However until recently I didn’t know where it was from.
My mom’s side of the family is Moroccan, however they’re Moroccan Jews. I had never been to Morocco. Neither has my mom, but she was raised by a mother who refused to speak anything but French, a grandma who refused to speak anything but Arabic (as well as most/if not the rest of her family) and experienced way more of our heritage than I could ever dream of.
Anyways, my mom speaks the same Arabic that her parents spoke in Morocco, but not me. She calls it “our Arabic.” She says she can understand other Moroccans just fine, but she said there was a difference with their Arabic and ours.
Also ever since I can remember we had a patch of mint in our backyard. Whenever people were over, we offered them nana. When there was something to celebrate, we offered them nana. When my mom is sick, she drinks nana. I’ve never had it, but she’s always called it nana. I can’t remember a time where my mom and aunts and uncles weren’t drinking nana lol.
Recently I learned it was called “Atay.” And I was confused bc I had never heard of Atay, but it’s the same thing. I found that in specific regions, it was called “B’naana.” I don’t know which specific regions. But my mom is very very sure that it’s not Bnaana, it’s Naana.
So what do you guys think? Is it a dialect thing? A regional thing? Or just the change in language over the generations? (Also I’m not rlly familiar with using reddit so if I format anything wrong my bad)
Thanks!

Picking up a new hobby in your late 20s or 30s
Hey everyone!
I’m in my late 20s, and I’ve been feeling like I need to explore some new hobbies but haven’t quite found one that sticks yet. I’m curious, did any of you manage to pick up a new hobby in your late 20s or 30s? How long did it take for you to really get into it, and what was the hobby?
Looking forward to reading your comments.

Drought, lack of rain and climate change
Salam,
I was wondering if anyone is dealing with the same problem I have.
My mood depends A LOT on weather, if winter doesn't feel like winter or summer doesn't feel like summer, I brake down simply. This problem was worse, and it used to lead to depression easily. I used to put on youtube videos of rain or listen to rain sounds sometimes, it used to help a little .
Any suggestions please ?

Passport change after evisa
Hi everyone,
If my passport renews after getting the Moroccan evisa, can I still use the evisa linked to my old passport? I can carry both passports with me?
Or will I have to reapply? I emailed the evisa team but did not get a response and seems like they are not very good with replying.

Money vs. love.
If you had to choose between money or love, which one would you choose?
Money: you have a clear path into wealth which requires a lot of hustle and probably all of your time
Love: Its something beautiful, but the sacrifices that come with it will slow down the money-making progress (you would still live comfortably tho)
Ps: assuming you are a traditional man who would pay for everything in the marriage. So less saving and investing and exponentially growing your money

Ello boys, heading to Morocco soon, any tips?
Visiting family, going with family. Oughta be a right good blast, just wanted to see if anyone has advice.
I'm open to literally any advice.
I want to experience morocco for all its beauty, flaws, communities slow and fast, those who admire and hate who I am, inevitably the many who just don't care, the land free of life and full of life, and really just bloody everything.

Marketing and manipulation
The more and more i read about marketing the more i find out that most people (including me) are just victimes of good marketing
at this point we buy by brands and not quality/ price relation i see it a lot in Phones for exemple there is a lot of phones that outperform Iphones but people still buy them .
not only in that but also in clothing like buying a lacost shirt for 600 Dh that’s a lot
how can we as people fight back this manipulation and if so how we make difference between manipulation and what we actually desire and want

How do you feel about bargaining in the souks?
After 4 days in Marrakesh I can say I would spend much more money if the price was fixed. I didn’t buy the things I wanted and I was afraid of having a feeling that I paid too much and someone took advantage of me puts me. I understand that’s the coulture here and it has positive side as well, because it’s an experience itself. I want to know what are your feelings and if I’m alone in thinking that people here would earn more money if there was a price next to the item. To the Moroccans here, I liked your country a lot and want to come back :)

Can Everyone Afford to Connect?
Hi everyone, a few weeks ago I came across a YouTube video that discusses the internet in Morocco, and addresses many issues, and also provides a hashtag so our voice is heard.
In a country that will host the World Cup in 5 years and still has max internet speed set to 200mbps and with a whopping price of 100$ a month, this is ridiculous, and the other 2 operators offer a slightly lower price but they are not available in all areas and cities. If we compare the prices and the speed offered by other countries, for example, in France the price for 600mbps is 20 EUR monthly, that is the price for an ADSL 20mbps in Morocco, which offers 1mbps in the upload speed, let's not compare with a European country, if we compare to Algeria they have 1.2gbps internet speed with a price of 32 USD, and 240mbps 21 USD, in morocco its 5 times more expensive, I don't know who calculate these prices, are they based on their own interest or our purchase power, but I guess its the first option.

Any Moroccans in Turkiye??
Hey guys,
I'm a 19M student here in turkey, this is my 2nd year here, my city is far from İstanbul and big cities so it doesn't have many Moroccans, I didn't get along people from other nationalities, as they gather often between them and they aren't very including. So I was wondering if there are any Moroccans here in turkey who would want to make a friendship here in this foreign land.
