My take on this whole Amazigh vs Arab situation.

I would love to point something out here really quickly. The whole Arab vs. Amazigh propaganda that's been going on for the last few years is merely a foreign agenda trying to divide the great Moroccan people. This goes way back in history to the colonial era (or protectorate) where the French resident tried to divide Moroccans by creating an uncalled-for distinction between the two communities (especially the judicial systems) in 1930, that both communities strongly rejected.

In our times, with the technological evolution and the easy access to social media, controlling people and creating fake conflicts has become really easy. Countries nowadays have digital armies/soldiers with the only mission of creating division among their enemies. Let's stay united and not fall prey to their wicked plans.

Lost Baggage Guidance

have been reading many other posts so I am going to see if there is any advice on my situation. I flew from RDU (Raleigh), JFK (New York), to CMN (Casablanca Morocco). I flew American Airlines domestically and Royal Air Maroc internationally. My bags did not go with me in cargo as the plane was “too heavy” and I even needed to check my carry on in at the gate. Now it’s showing my bags are in Miami because they thought it would just go on the next flight from Miami to Casablanca and that did not happen. It has been a week without FOUR bags but based on what I have heard most bags are reunited with their owners. Any suggestions on other steps? I’ve contacted AA and RAM almost everyday with no answers.

Rest assured i’m never traveling without an air tag again.

Amazigh cultural challenge moving forward

So another rant in regards to the statistics revealed in the national census, as per it's results only 24% of the population can speak the amazigh language, this is without considering people that actually can write using it, or the different dialects that aren't mutually tangible, this reveals the following:

\-Amazigh cultural influence is limited to people on the net, that are most likely not culturaly amazigh but identify as such.

\-Learning Amazigh has no benefit whatsoever, Morrocans have to learn 2 languages to survive Arabic and french, (English is still highly valuable but it's not necessary for survival as much as redditors hate to admit), Amazigh in this sense is just a hastle and provides no economic benefit, there isn't much thought about amazigh culturaly anyway for people to be attached to it.

\-Amazigh even though it's considered an official language in the constituion has been in decline since 2004 where it stood at 30% (the HCP official report)

So what are your thoughts on the subject, what do you think the general population take on these statistics?

Broken down car near Tisseldei (between Marrakech and Ait Benhaddou) - Scam?

Salamo alikom!

My wife and I were driving to Ait Benhaddou today, and stopped at a spot to take photos of the scenery. A man approached us and explained in French his car was broken down, and asked if we could help him. I said sure, what does he need, and he asked if we could deliver a message to his mechanic friend in Ouarzazate.

I agreed to do this, and he produced a message written in Arabic which I cannot read, with a map on the other side of where his friend lives.

A little further along the road, we saw an older gentleman hitchhiking, and waving an empty bottle of water at us as we drove past. I pulled over and gave him some water, and then agreed to give him a ride to Ouarzazate. He explained that he had been robbed in Marrakech, and he lived in Zagora. He then burst into tears and told us he had been walking for 6 days.

When we got to Ouarzazate, he asked us where we were going, and I told him about the other guy, and showed him the note. He got really worked up, and told me it's a scam, and then ripped up the note and threw it out the window. He explained that the guy with the broken down car is there every day, and that he is a well known scammer.

My question is, what's the scam? If I got to the address and they tried to ask me for money for car parts or something I would just tell them to get fucked? It seems like a lot of trouble to go to, and I don't really see what the end goal is... were they planning to rob me?

I've been in Morocco for 6 days so far with my wife, and we absolutely love it here, by the way :) your country is incredible!

Shukran!

Struggling to understand how the Moroccan Weeding works

Hello, I’m a brazilian man, and I’ll marry a moroccan women, we’re both muslims but I’m confused about the weeding.

In in my culture the weeding is different from the moroccan weeding, per example in my culture the man who pays for the weeding.

And when I try to search about my duties to the weeding, I only find content talking about the party, not the organization and planning.

And when I search for videos I only found videos of rich people weddings.

Do you guys can share with me some real content about the moroccan weeding?

Edit: I’m talking about the planning of the weeding, not about how should I act during the one.

Disabled in morocco

Hey everyone,

I’m 21, from a small town near Marrakech, Morocco. Growing up, my life was pretty normal like any other kid’s, but things changed when I turned 12. I started losing my ability to walk because of a muscular disease.

Even with this, I pushed through and finished my studies. I got my baccalaureate and later a diploma in Multimedia and Web Design from a public school. But after that, I couldn’t continue studying. There were too many problems—no accessible transport, long distances, and I couldn’t move to another city or live alone.

So, I decided to focus on finding work as a web developer and graphic designer. This past year, I’ve been working hard to learn more and improve my skills. I’ve taken on some freelance projects, which went okay, but it’s not steady or enough to live on.

Lately, I’ve realized I can’t just sit in my room waiting for something to happen. I need to make a change. I’m thinking about looking for opportunities outside Morocco because, honestly, being disabled here is so hard. Even basic things like transport aren’t accessible, and it feels impossible to live a normal life.

I feel stuck and don’t know what to do. I just wanted to share my story and see if anyone has advice, ideas, or even opportunities for someone like me.
