Why are train ticket prices so inconsistent and expensive across Morocco?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been noticing a huge price difference when it comes to train tickets. For example, the ticket from Rabat to Kenitra is 20 Dhs, while the one from Marrakech to Benguerir is 55 Dhs. Both distances somewhat the same, so why such a big gap? Many of us rely on these trains for daily commutes to work or school, and these prices are starting to feel outrageous.

Is there any way we can address this issue? It’s becoming a serious burden.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

Creeps and weirdos

I'm sure l'm not alone and I wanted to post this before but decided I against it. I'm not sure why but EVERY SINGLE TIME I comment on something I get unsolicited messages from weird men trying to strike up conversation. I'm wondering if other women also deal with this and wanted to tell these "men" aka weirdos to STOP!

Travelling to Morocco during Ramadan - female solo

Hello!

I am wondering how it is during Ramadan in the evening in Moroccan cities - as many people go out at night, would it also be safer than usual to stay out in the evening alone as a female solo traveler (to go to eat in restaurants / go to markets / walk around)? (I am not Muslim but I wouldn't mind fasting while I am there for the full week, to learn more about Islam and experience a bit more than I would otherwise.) My original plan was basically to go outdoors only during daytime and stay in the hotel in the evenings for safety reasons, but now I just realized it's Ramadan then and I've read online that it will be very dead outside during daytime lol.

Thank you in advance for sharing your opinion and experience.

Background:
I know there have been posts here before about female solo travel, where the experiences often have been at both extreme ends, like "I had the best time / trip of a lifetime / I loved travelling solo in Morocco" to "It was horrible / I will never go back even if I get paid / I was harassed and spat on". I still decided to give it a shot myself... and I couldn't find a post that specifically related to female solo travel during Ramadan. I've lived in other countries far away from my own, had people try to scam me, had men harass me, I am used to having to be extra vigilant in certain areas, I know how to dress modestly, stay lowkey / not have that look that screams 'I'm a tourist with money and don't know where I'm going' but I know I will still stand out as a female walking around alone..... I am mixed and since childhood I have often been told by north africans that I look Moroccan, so I hope to blend in a liiiittle bit more than for example blonde / blue eyed / very white foreigners.... I know Spanish and some French from before, I have studied some arabic fusha before and am now learning some darija. I am traveling to learn more about the culture, people, history, region, culinary traditions...

How easily social media gets abused and why you should be careful.

We just had here on this sub an account that is the perfect example of creating hate, confussion and was designed to.

Under the subject of child marriage, it starts as a genuine topic of recent examples of such marriages in the Atlas and how tragic it is.

But the final words said it is Islam's fault. Obviously illogical.

I've spent 4 decades dealing with liars, deciept, criminals and worse so I check accounts and I know how to provoke & then expose.

When pointing out what the law says, the OP quotes the Qur'an and in typical islamophobic lines about The Prophet (asw). Try to get OP to address the subject, he just repeats more.

So I hit a bit harder, talking about what the Grand Muftis, Muhdhab's say and 56 country's all can read Qur'an ... he said that "I am a trained imam with 20 years study and was the imam of a Casablanca mosque from 2001 to 2006".

Odd, I read his account and already knew he is 36 years old, a "tech industry" guy who worked at Derb Ghellif, in love with MMA & bodybuilding & now living in Germany. So he was a 21 year old imam who started study age 1 .... really???

When exposed he goes beserk saying wild stuff ... so I blocked, job done and he knows it.

He might be still there trying, feel free to identify but beware.

My point of raising this is I see this type on Reddit posts regularly and you should never fully trust complainers trying to bring everyone down and especially our faith.

A real ex-Muslim just does not believe, they do not attack. I have no quarrel with them.

My experiences and career obviously makes me good at identifying, but anyone can doubt or read an account's history to see the changes in stories.

Take care friends (& foes).

Found this posted on Facebook, what are your thoughts?

If you ask me about Moroccan Society,

I'd say it's hospitable, friendly, talented...

But if you ask on a deeper level.

we're the perfect example of a society run by hate, corruption, hypocrisy...

we give that good image about us while we k!ill each other out of jealousy and judgement.

(the way we prioritize foreigners over moroccans or simply how external and internal ministries work)

we worship foreigners (mostly the west) while we think their cultures/values are inferior.

we actively use religion to put each other down knowing that's not a valid excuse to meddle in someone's life.

manipulation, abuse, discrimination became so normal that even our language adapted to it by having more words of hate than love.

we accept corruption, oppress innovative minds, bully creative ones then blame the government for everything mentioned.

side note: the government is just an extension of the same people

everything we show to the world, from being open-minded, not racist, good muslims, is all fake

it's not our government or external powers that are holding us back, it's our own selves
