Movie like peanut butter falcon
I absolutely loved that movie. The fact that it was an unlikely friendship on an adventure. Are there any other movies that share those characteristics?

Movies with interesting, quirky, and whimsical settings
I love movies with an unexpected whimsical setting. Some of my favs include Toys (with Robin Williams) and Being John Malkovich; I’ll even put Willy Wonka and Casper in there. What are some movies with quirky setting that you love?

Movies where large areas are under threat?
I kind of like movies where large areas (town sized or larger) are under threat for some reason.
Cloverfield, independence day, 2012.
Any good recommendations for me?
They can be supernatural or disaster movies. Either is fine.

Anything for Jackson (2020) Horror
"A sinister couple hatch a supernatural scheme to resurrect their dead grandson through a pregnant woman."
Just watched it and wow, what a fun and creepy horror movie. I was on the edge of my seat pretty much right from the beginning of the movie all the way to the end. You can find this gem on Shudder!

Movies for cultural awareness
While movies are surely not the best place to gain cultural awareness (incomplete picture, stereotypes, etc.), but they are a start. Looking for some stuff that incorporates culture in ways not found too often in Hollywood. It doesn't have to make culture a focus of the film, but I'm looking for stuff that's noticeably different.
Some titles that come to mind: The Help, Joy Luck Club, Crazy Rich Asians, Slumdog Millionaire, and Coco. Thanks!

Genius protagonist
One where the protagonist is an absolute genius in outplaying the antagonist? I'm talking movies like prison break (i know it's a series but you get my point)

Looking for movies like Soul (2020) and Stuck in Love.
It doesn’t have to be animated but I’m looking for the type of movies that make you think about life and it’s purpose but on a positive note. Another film along the ones I mentioned that are similar is like Perks of being a Wallflower. Thank you in advance.

Similar to Frozen the horror movie?
I’m looking for a movie that is like really similar to frozen (2010) in the aspect that like someone breaks a bone or is eaten alive type sense. I’m also petrified of heights so the scene of him jumping of the lift and snapping his legs was crazy!! Something about bone breaks get me really scared so any recommendations that have something to do with stranded people that have to go through desperate measures. For reference I also LOVE the platform with the forced cannibalism to survive. Any suggestions help! Thanks :)

- The Girl on the train
- jacobs ladder
- the machinist
- saw

Films that surround a couple
I want a film where the couple is the focus. Married or not. Working through their problems whether that be financial or emotional.
I’ve already seen things like Marriage Story, sorry we missed you, scenes from a marriage pieces of a woman, blue valentine etc. I’m open to films ranging from the 90’s up (not interested in period pieces).

Movies with train travel scenes
I love movies with scenes involving riding the rails and luxury train travel. Murder on the Orient Express is a favorite, but the whole movie doesn’t have to revolve around the train. My favorite parts of Harry Potter are when they are in the train. White Christmas is another example.

Movies that will make you feel dumb
Title lol. Dumb in a way that you’re in awe how the protagonist’s brain works, how he does things etc OR a movie that is so cleverly written that you’re just left with that “holy shit” feeling

Actor suggestions for darker rolls?
I'm not sure if this is appropriate to ask here, but I am looking for actors/actresses who do mostly darker rolls. Actors that come to mind are Christina Ricci and Eva Green, maybe Jennifer Connelly. The movies don't even have to be horror or dark themselves, but the character has some kind of dark situation they are dealing with, or their personality is dark. I like to watch movies by actor (going on an actor binge or bender and watching all their movies) so thats why I prefer to find an actor who plays these types of rolls. Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, thank you for taking the time to read!

Movie that has the same structure like Forrest Gump
So basically a movie that goes just like Forrest Gump. I'm talking about a constant "adventure", the main character constantly changes the scene, meets different kinds of characters with which be could meet later on, you know what I mean.

Movies with likeable characters
I feel like every movie I've watched in the last couple of weeks had me disliking the majority if the characters for various reasons so now I just want some movies with characters that I'll actually like. I generally don't really care about genre but I'd prefer it if it wasn't sci-fi or fantasy.
Some movies like that: Inglourious Basterds, Sherlock Holmes, The Sixth Sense, Mary Poppins Returns, Casino Royale, Master & Commander, Booksmart, Goodfellas, Rope, Casablanca

Anti-war but patriotic non-Hollywood war movies (Dunkirk, 1917, Thin Red Line)?
I especially loved DUNKIRK. The soldiers are running away from danger because they're scared. This is what 99.9% of soldiers during WWII would probably have felt. They're not brave. They hid in the trenches that's why we get to see them today. They prob used their friends bodies as human shield. Everyone from this subreddit woulddo the same and would probably pissed their pants. I want movies like that. I also loved the ending scene of Dunkirk with that Churchill speech and the music from Elgar. So beautiful, patriotic (not American cringe patriotic) and kind of subdued if you know what I mean. It's just classy
Absolutely no fake ass Saving Private Ryan (Stupid as fuck and fake) and most of Hollywood war movies.

Movies where I’m the detective too.
I really like movies where I feel like I’m uncovering the mystery at the same time as the characters in the movie. Doesn’t necessarily have to be a movie with an actual detective, but someone of the sort. I really like movies like Gone Girl, Prisoners, and The Usual Suspects!

Nothing to Hide/ Le Jeu (2018) A French movie with a good twist ending of 3.5 couples at dinner and secrets are exposed
A great movie. Very entertaining with plenty of twists and turns. It shows what would happen if all of our secrets kept on our phones were revealed. Any lies and affairs would be exposed. Left me with like the "wow, what did I just watch" at the conclusion.

Movies like Moon (2009)?
Looking for something good to pair with Moon for a double feature. I do a podcast that compares two different movies with some connection. Sometimes it's the same director, same series, same vibes, whatever. It can be any kind of connection so long as there is one. The ideas we have so far are Gravity and The Martian.

I am looking for movies like Dr. Strangelove, War Games, and Fail-safe. Suspense movies in regards to a nuclear crisis and whatnot.

Existential film with an unhappy ending.
I’m looking for something with a lonely, anxious feel to it with an unhappy ending. Similar to how ‘The Graduate’ has an anxious, unhappy atmosphere to it but with a more obvious unhappy ending. Something slightly more modern than the 1960s. Today’s my 21st birthday but for some reason I’m in the mood for something really edgy and depressing.
