What movie in your experience is impossible not to enjoy that you would always recommend to people knowing for sure they're gonna like it?
For me those are, Get Out, Prisoners & My Cousin Vinny. I would host a movie night whenever I fancy a rewatch and never had any complaints. What about you?

Movies that take place in a huge mansion with lots of rooms and floors
And there's characters in these rooms doing different random shit. I just have this image in my mind where different stories and scenes are happening in lots of rooms/places at the same time, in a huge house that I want to see come to life through a film, and the large variety of narratives that comes from it. Would love it if the location of rooms or architecture of the mansion has some significance in the plot

Looking for creepy movies where people start to get weird
Looking for creepy movies where a person or a group meet some people. They seem normal at first but start to get weird and batshit insane at the end. E.g The visit, Funny games, The invitation, Get out.

Films like Brawl In Cell Block 99 & Dragged Across Concrete
Seeking movies that are slowly paced, gritty and violent.
Akin to the two films previously mentioned. Another honorable mention is ‘Hobo With A Shotgun’.
All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

"All Creatures Here Below" (2018) if you want a sad, gritty, sad, hopeless, sad yet wonderful movie
Pretty much in the description. I am a sucker for Karen Gillan ( I personally first noticed her in Dr. Who) So I figured I would check this movie out.
If you movies about 2 broken people in a hopeless situation yet still a kinda beautiful story, this is for you.
I saw it on Amazon, but it's available for free elsewhere

Should have let him alone
Good evening. I'm in the mood to watch a good action movie where the protagonist is "retired" from that life but circumstances force him to revive his earlier life (eg. John wick, the killer, man from nowhere, nobody etc.). Thanks in advance.

Anyone else see this? Watched it three nights ago and I'm still thinking about it.

Are there any feel good mysteries instead of the usual psychological type? Something with twists but a light-hearted story.
I like watching something that keeps me on edge but it’s starting to increase my anxiety, I’m just wondering if there’s something out there that still keeps you hooked with twists and a bit of suspense but in a more light hearted way instead of crime and all that. Hope to find something here!

Movies about love that never flourish like “Cast Away”.
Hi. I thought I knew everything about “Cast Away” and gave it a go. Boy I was wrong. I really liked the love the never comes to full fruition cause of the events of the film. Any other Hollywood movie you would suggest with this theme in mind?
Thank you.

movies or tv series where you can also solve the crime with the detectives, officers, protagonists etc.? XD
Same as title, is there any show/movie where I can also try and put pieces together and solve the case alongside the characters.
Or those movies would also work where detectives solve cases step by step like Detective Conan does.
I've seen you guys give some insanely good recommendations to every absurd request ever, so here's my absurd request and I hope you guys will gimme some great stuff to watch.
Thanks a lot in advance guys!
Also, thank you for recommending me a lot of crime shows/movies.
I saw Dark Waters and The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez both were so infuriating, but both of them were a great watch.
I'll watch the rest of the recommendations soon. Loved all the responses to that post.

Name some that are similar to films made by the Safdie Brothers
I want some crime and psychological thrillers that have a similar non-stop, intense, self-destructive nature of Safdie Brothers movies such as "Good Time" and "Uncut Gems"
And if so, have the film also contain cinematography that provides insight into the gritty nature of the dark and moody underworld of which character's reside in

Movies that feature a broadcast, photos or messages from the future.
An example would be Prince of Darkness, where they received broadcasts from the future. It's really creepy. I am also trying to find the title of a movie where where a group of friends were taking Polaroids of an apartment? and they kept showing what would happen the next day. Thanks.

Le Samourai (1967)
It's one of the coolest, most self-assured films I've ever watched, a wonderful cat-and-mouse game between the protagonist (Jef) and the police trying to close the net on him is brilliantly realised. Really entertaining, and doesn't feel dated at all.
The direct inspiration for Jim Jarmuch's Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai.

Any movies where they don’t hesitate to kill the bad guy when they have the chance?
It’s always bothered me where in many movies, everything would be different (usually so much better) if the protagonist killed the antagonist when they had the chance.
Are there any films or directors you’d recommend where this sort of thing doesn’t happen?
Most cringey situation to avoid:

What are some movies about the same (or related) historical events, that should be watched as an unofficial series?
Basically every major (and some lesser known) historical events have been adapted for the screen, multiple times. These films, oftentimes can't capture the entire scope of what they're portraying, and usually just focus on a very specific and perhaps even limited perspective.
So I wanted to know about a few films made about the same or related historical events, that actually build on each other, and work well as a series of films. The one big example I can think of, is how King's Speech, Darkest Hour and Dunkirk are all films that take place around the same time, and show different aspects of the same war effort
These movies can be about any event (big or small, local or international), as long as they build on each other, and contribute to a large or more well-defined narrative. So, biopics about the same historical figure don't count here, unless they tell very different stories (or provide varying accounts) about the person

What are some movies similar to John Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13, Walter Hills Trespass, The Warriors and Judgment Night(1993 movie)
Movies kind about being trapped and hunted or having to survive in the city setting
I take suggestions of films in the country or woods like Deliverance, Surviving the game, Most Dangerous game, Southern Comfort, Rituals, etc

Movies that give the same vibe as the Kowloon Walled City
I’m looking for a movie about a dense urban Asian city slum, seedy, drugs, gang members, brothels, neo noir or dystopianish almost. Something that gives off the same vibe. A lawless dark city in Asia.

Movie suggestions for romance and action?

No Hard Feelings(2023)
Went into this movie with slightly normal expectations. This movie is actually really good, solid story, actually funny comedy, and the vibes of a late 2000s movie. This doesn’t feel like a modern movie at all, really no modern themes pushed. It has the feeling as Super Bad. You should give it a watch.

When were you born and which movies do you associate with your childhood the most?
Feel free to add stories, I just want as much info on which films impacted people as the years went by.
Mine would be Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Titanic, the early MCU, Raimi's Spider-Man, late 2000's Bollywood, Ratatouille, the first 3 Pirates films, Cars, a bunch of Brosnan and Craig Bond films (those always felt like I shouldn't have been watching them hehe).
I was born in '02.

I'd love a movie like Sicario
What I like about the movie is:
The tense soundtrack
The crime/drugs theme
The way the special forces are displayed, like they are so serious and not to mess with
I can't really describe it well but I'd love to watch some similar movies!

Mythical creatures being evil and sinister
Is there a movie (or book), with a person/group/entity being evil just for the sake of creating chaos, so with no motive of "earthly" desires?
I would be interested in sirens/fae or other mythical creatures, something as sinister as the inherent creepieness of Peter Pan stealing children or faries switching out human kids for their kind.
Essentially, I'm looking for something truly unsettling.
