Recommendations for fans of The Black Tapes?
I'm on season 2 of the Black Tapes podcast on Spotify and I'm loving it so far (though I'm told the ending is very lackluster compared to the rest of the series). I'd love another pseudo-documentary podcast that revolves around the paranormal or mysterious circumstances.
I've also listened to 1 and a half seasons of the Magnus Archives which I've also enjoyed but I started enjoying The Black Tapes more so MA is on hold for now.
It's easy to find these on Google but I want your personal recommendation :)

Longform/Single Story Podcast with Zero Filler
Something that drives me nuts about podcasts is how much filler the writers add in to... I don't know, I guess to lengthen each episode. Filler is a total deal breaker for me. So many interesting stories just ruined by the host's inane ramblings or interviews from the friend of a friend of a friend of the character in question.
Could you please recommend any single story/long form podcast without any filler? i don't care about the topic; and I don't care if each episode is only 10 minutes long, just tell me a story without any obvious padding.

This podcast is original and if you also like nerd shit, this might be interesting for you. I think it's cool that the podcast requires listener interaction in the form of fate index submissions also.

Does anybody know the backstory on Dean Delray?
I don't want to cast judgement but after listening to his podcast a lot the impression I get is that he is an LA kid who had rich parents and has been able to coast through life on a safety net while exploring his passions of music and stand up comedy without actually having to be successful at either one to put a roof over his head.

The ummm filter
I listen primarily to scientific podcasts where the host and guest discuss their research and its applicability. Most of these people are brilliant and at the top of their field. However, they're not always used to being interviewed, which often results in many "ummm" during the interview. Usually, it's not a huge deal, but yesterday, I listened to an episode with about a BRAZILLION ummms in it. The discussion was still fascinating, but I desperately wished my podcast app had an ummm filter.

Any recs for podcasts about spooky/morbid topics that aren't always about murder cases or serial killers?
I'm just so sick of hearing about serial killers, but I'm having trouble finding podcasts that balance spooky topics with not talking about murder trials every single episode.
I just recently discovered Swindled & love it! I've been listening to it as I fall asleep and am starting to run out of new episodes. Anything similar I could try? I prefer less banter & no yelling/shrieking/giggling between hosts

Podcast Audio & Metadata Scraping
I'm working on a side project and need to download podcast audio for processing and storage. This, roughly, involves the following steps:
1) Create an automated way to be notified when a new podcast is released. This can be in the form of receiving an HTTP message or even running a CRON job and checking a few times per day.
2) Download the mp3 and metadata (date, title, etc.) for the podcast.
3) Process audio using something like WisperAI.
4) Store the data for analytics.
I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for the above, specifically steps 1 and 2? For example, do you know of any tools (ex: API) I can leverage with Python to get podcast information daily? Or a reliable way to get high-quality audio files for many different podcasts?

True crime podcasts similar to Crime Junkie??
Hi guys :) I know it gets a lot of hate but does anyone have any recommendations for podcasts similar to crime junkie? I tried CaseFiles but honestly the host’s voice was so monotone that I kept zoning out and felt like I was listening to a radio commercial. Im looking for something engaging, and I really felt like crime junkie did that! The hosts did a very good job at not being boring, and telling the story in a captivating way. Bonus points if you can recommend your fav eps too!! Thank you :)

Bloomberg Odd-Lots Podcast - worth listening
This is one of my favourite podcasts. They discuss different topics that touch (directly or indirectly) financial markets. eg most recent one I listened to was about the low levels of the Mississippi River, how it is hindering transport of goods w barges, pricing impact on barge rates and impact on commodities / supply chains.
