Using Prime Music for ad-free listening to several podcasts I've listened to for years. Here is my experience. What is yours?
Until trying out Amazon Prime Music for add-free listening I've only used Podcast Addict, which I totally love. That definitely colors my opinion of Amazon Music.
1. I haven't figured out a good search. While I can select podcasts and go to a page called "Explore Podcasts" there is no search box on that page so I can only see the algorithm's recommendation. If I go to search I get back results for songs and albums.
1. The main time when ad-free would be useful to me is when I am driving. But when I drive is also when I use turn by turn navigation and unlike Podcast Addict, Amazon Music doesn't pause the podcast to allow me to hear the direction and then return to the podcast without missing anything. Instead it continues to play the podcast at a lower volume under the directions. That stinks.
1. Podcast Addict has finer speed control. There is 1.2 and 1.4 but not 1.3 speed. I like finer speed control and don't see why it isn't available.
4. ESPN podcasts are participating. While the ones I listen to don't have a lot of ads, they do tend to be inserted abruptly and with the host not acknowledging the break so not having them is nice.
1. Barstool is in the program. Pardon My Take has a lot of ads. Even though I skip them as best I do hear most ads at least once so I can understand when the hosts reference a sponsor in their patter. Not hearing ads at all might leave me clueless. But the ads are long so not having to fast forward makes it nice.
1. Listening to a legit ad-free version provides some compensation to the creators which my skipping and never using a promo code does not. So that is in Amazon's favor with me.
I haven't tried downloads on Amazon. That is the only way I listen on Podcast Addict. I haven't commented on aspects of using Amazon Music for podcasts that might be due to streaming rather than downloading.

My Favorite Motivational Podcasts
My favorite podcast episode is Effort and Attitude with Dillion Buck in the "Elevators Podcast", generally I approached this series with skepticism because I thought they were trying to sell me something, and maybe that's true with some episodes, but this one was fantastic, just great advice about being alive and fun when you're at work, how you win by having fun and getting people to laugh. The idea of serving others while having fun doing it.
I also liked These Daily Habits Will Prime Your Brain to get everything you want.
I used to dislike Tony Robbins, I watched "I'm not your Guru" and I felt a little grossed out by what I thought was out-of-control egotism. But this podcast was fantastic, he was open about his life and I loved the story of when he was at a buffet and saw the kid that was helping out his mother, and despite being dead broke he gave that kid everything he had and walked away smiling. There was tremendous value and it was an inspiring message.

Has anyone listened to Otherworld by Jack Wagner?
I'm really into it, but I haven't seen a lot of posts online. Its got great music/sound design, and isn't annoying or cheesy. Its like a paranormal unsolved mysteries vibe, but it feels like you're hearing it at a campfire between the subjects and Jack Wagner. He's skeptical but also open-minded. The stories seem somewhat vetted too, ha. I hope it keeps it up.

Windows 10 + chromebook - browser extension?
I just started using podcast addict on my android phone. So I can make good use of commuting time. Yes, I know, late to the party. Not exactly a tech noob, but beginner with podcasts.
Now I also want to listen podcasts on other devices: a windows 10 laptop with chrome, and a Chromebook.
What are my best options. Use a browser extension for chrome? Or use a specific app on the windows machine. I tried to, but can't install podcast addict on the Chromebook because not compatible (probably too old).
Also, what it the best way to keep one central list of podcasts?

Alien (Ghost House) Podcast?
I have been trying to remember what the name of this freaking podcast was. It's an audio drama. I think it was older or something, but It's a podcast about an alien prison ship that crashes on earth. The ship is filled with the wails of the prisoners that are inside of a computer system.
Humans then try to help the aliens and can co-inhabit in a singular body.
It has a lot of talks on transgender people and is quite the thought provoking show.

Major true crime/cult/mlm fan, looking for something like Bed of Lies
I have a serious addiction to true crime podcasts but find that because they vary wildly, not only in terms of the topic but in particular when it comes to how it's presented (jokes on top of more jokes like LPOTL which I find unbearable, with some bantering like Behind the Bastards which I like, in a more somber tone like Unfinished or monologue-like such as Casefile), on crappier days I find it hard to focus on some of them and tend to look for dialogue and/or the ones with interviews.
Bed of Lies is one I've listened to three times because of how gripping it is. It's not light by any stretch but it keeps you hooked from beginning to end. Any similar suggestions?

I have depression and literally the podcast “My Dad Wrote a Porno” was such a lovely escape. I also live alone in a new area so I don’t have many friends and what was also amazing about the podcast was the hosts were all close friends and I genuinely cared and enjoyed hearing about their little anecdotes outside the story lol!
