Recommendations needed

Hi all. Looking for podcasts that meet the following criteria:

1) One narrator or one main narrator + excerpts of other people explaining something briefly, but no dialogues and especially no small talk
2) Not trying to be funny/not marketed as funny
3) Specialized, ie not one person talking about all kids of things but dealing with a niche in the following fields
- medicine (targeting non professionals)
- translation
- literature
- true crime
- biographies
- passenger transport, especially aviation
- history
5) Not a higher than average pitched voice
6) Languages:
-English
-German
-Czech
-Polish
-Ukrainian

So far, my absolute favorite is Herstory (it's in German). A lot of great ideas are subjectively ruined to me by dialogues and small talk, so looking for nice ways to practice listening and entertain myself.
P.s. I know it's a potentially weird ask and I don't think any of this is even nearly objective!

Book podcasts, similar to Thrillers by the Bookclub Pod?

Looking for something similar to Thrillers by the Bookclub Pod: a podcast with in depth discussions of books, by people who are enthusiastic about the genre, and which is NOT author interview based. Preferably about thrillers, but also interested if it's just about fiction books in general.

Recommendations for podcasts relating to Cold War nuclear weapons and DOL handling post site closure

Can anyone recommend podcasts relating to nuclear weapons developments during the Cold War and the Department of Labors efforts to investigate the harmful effects of exposure? Miamisburg Mound in Ohio was cleaned
in 2003 but there are still water vapor tests being done and former employees have presented with numerous cases of cancer and neurological disorders. I find these types of things fascinating as they not only effect the former workers, but continue to effect the surround community. Thanks!

ISO podcasts about education

Hi! Looking for podcasts on education, particularly US education but I’d be fine with anything! I’ve listened to all of the APM Reports educational documentaries and loved them, so I’d really love more that are similar to that. I’m not looking for podcasts on how to be a teacher but more issues teachers/colleges/students are facing, current state of education, scandals, experienced with for-profit universities, etc. I don’t want true crime. I’ve heard already:

- Sold a Story
- All of the APM Reports Educate documentaries
- Nice White Parents
- Gangster Capitalism
- Reveal and all of their episodes about education
- This Land’s episodes about Indian Boarding Schools
- TTAM’s episode on Argosy

Thank you in advance!!

Podcast about diverse things about horror like Shrouded Hand?

Hello i am a big fan of the youtube channel "Shrouded Hand" and i really like the fact that this channel talk about many topics about horrors, like paranormal event, true crime and creepy historical fact. However many youtube channel or podcast about horror, seem to be far less diverse in their theme, so i would like to know podcast that talk about horror with as mush diversity as Shrouded Hand do.

I forgot the name of a podcast

From what I can remember, it's about a narcissistic guy who dates several women at the same time behind their backs. One or two of them get pregnant and are forced to keep it. The women eventually find out about his true nature and become friends.

Anybody listening to Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade?

I’m really enjoying it. These 2 hosts interview SNL alumni and guest hosts. Dana is a bit hyper, but i love it. And Spade isn’t like his snarky characters at all. It’s a great show and I honestly was surprised by their amazing guest list. If you need some funny in your life, check this podcast out.

Recommendation: Where Are You Going?

Howdy. I did search the sub and didn't find any mention of this podcast. I'd like to recommend to you a little podcast called "Where are You Going?" from Loftus Media. It just started in March. Episodes are about 8-15 minutes long and come along every four or five days.

I find this podcast so delightful! A lovely British lady named Catherine Carr walks around places and starts short conversations with people by asking them where they're going. Most episodes take place in England, but she occasionally travels. There's at least one episode from New York. Catherine seems kind and sweet, asks good questions that get people talking. Sometimes it's an elderly fellow who seems thrilled to talk about his life. Sometimes it's a businesswoman in a hurry to get to work. Every episode is a little bundle of everyday life. It's amazing to hear the burdensome weights and brilliant joys that people are walking around with.

I hope you'll give it a try.

Scamanda

I rarely post here but this podcast is so good that I was trying to find a place to listen ahead. I just wanted to throw that out there to anybody who enjoys investigative journalism podcast series. I recommend this, it's better a very long time since I've actually went out of my way to make sure I catch the next episode. It is really so good. If anyone can recommend anything in the meantime similar or any investigative journalism I may not have caught, that would be great. Highly recommend but it's only every Monday.

Edit to add I believe that I found the recommendation here and if I did thank you so much to that person!

5.0 rating on Spotify

Looking for Podcasts that have a 5.0 rating on Spotify.

An example of this is Dan Carlins Hardcore History.

Just to say, the 5.0 rating is not the be all end all of a podcast being awesome. I would just like to have a listen to those considered by many to be of the best of the best.

Lesser Known Podcast Recommendation Digital Artist Podcasts (chill, informative)

Hey I just thought back to my favourite podcasts and one I can really recommend is the "Blender Guru Podcast", but only certain episodes.

The Podcast is mainly about computer graphics but that's only a small part (in the episodes provided). The speaker is an artist who traveled a lot and talks about his impressions of life and experiences. I really liked it since he seems like a smart guy, thought you might like it too.

It's so old that you can only listen to it on the internet archive, still great tho (stay away from the interview episodes tho)

Podcasts on character discussions?

Is there any podcasts out there about fictional characters? Like what makes a certain character special and how the way theyre written in the story. Something that leans more towards an opinionated or personal approach and not something that just sounds like a teacher explaining why a character is a good character. I like to hear ppls personal opinions and why a character is relatable or at least personal to them regardless of their role in the story.

Pods like Joe rogan but without the MMA and comedians?

i like the JRE, in the variety of guests and conversational feel of it (i don’t like interview style podcasts). My favorite shows of his are ones with duncan trussel, hancock and randall, and any scientists, drug, alien or conspiracy related ones. Unfortunately these days those seem to be less and less frequent. I really don’t care for his comedian guests, MMA, military or hunting guests.

Can anyone recommend similar podcasts but without the above? I’m aware of duncan’s podcasts and joe rogan affiliated people. But looking for pods outside the JRR bubble. Thanks :)

Help. I need a soothing podcast rep STAT

I'm having a terrible day at the end of a horrible week. Nothing is going right, and something deeply important and precious to me may soon not be able to continue. My overall anxiety is off the chart right now...plus I'm sad. I'm going to go out for a long walk soon, and while I'm out walking, I need a podcast that's easy to listen to, soothing, interesting, but not spiritual or religious. Not looking for humor right now. I just want to feel better. I'm up to date on The Moth, but even that isn't quite what I need right now.

Comedy/light hearted, spiritual podcast recommendations

I enjoy spiritual podcast but I’m looking for something that is more comedy/light hearted, a casual style, with spiritual stuff in the mix. I mean it doesn’t even have to be spiritual I just want something more light hearted and funny. But please no podcasts that discuss politics or current events. Do y’all have any you could recommend that fit what I’m looking for? I use Spotify if that makes a difference. Thank you!!

Radio Rental gripe

I wanna start off saying I love this podcast, the stories are great and I can’t get enough.

My gripe is the filler between stories, I just skip over it, I don’t think it’s particularly funny and just don’t care. This most recent episode ran 6 minutes long! I just wish we’d get more story and less Terry. Please.

Hannahpocalypse-an audio drama podcast

I found this really cool audio drama podcast called Hannahpocalypse that I think anyone who likes apocalyptic stories will love. Here's the description- "Hannahpocalypse is a forth wall breaking serial comedy/horror audio drama that follows the last zombie, Hannah; who’s ‘living’ her best life over 150 years after the zombie apocalypse has come and gone. All the while Cali, a scout for a thriving settlement, looks to make a mark on the world but is coming up bust. Destined to collide, zombie and human will be forced into an unlikely friendship amid a wasteland full of raiders and unfriendly robots left over from the ‘bad old days’. It’s a story of love, robots and a girl who eats people." It has a really interesting take on the apocalypse and in my opinion it's a hidden gem that I think people will love.
