Ramen in a Tea POT
So. It is 2 AM. I have five more hours of studying to do, and frankly I am getting hungry.
All I really have is a teapot. Not an electric kettle, a cast iron teapot. I have a bag of chips too.
I really, REALLY want some ramen. However, I do not want to ruin my teapot, and don't know if cooking ramen in it would do that, or even if it would work. Any advice is welcome.

Dried shiitake dashi. Soak or simmer?
I am trying to find how to properly cook dried shiitake for ramen. First of all I want to have strong dashi flavour in the broth. But I also want to keep the shroom itself good enough to eat in the soup.
The directions of the Internet are contradicting. Should I just put them in room temp water and soak or simmer on stovetop? Perheps both is better like soak overnight and then simmer? Put in fridge overnight or not? Should they reach boiling point? How many minutes to cook in boiling water?

Allergy free ramen?
Things have been real tough for me ever since manfacturers had to label sesame on their ingredients list as cross contamination. Basically every ramen has sesame in it or is at risk along with nuts. The only on I think I can have is K-Army Ramen Stew but it's pretty expensive and rarely in a nearby store like Walmart or Asian markets near me. Any help?
