and Killer Noodle’s Tokyo tantanmen had a nice spicy kick.
I do want to revisit Men Oh Tokushima in Little Tokyo, but I remember the parking lot being way too small and it was hard to get a bowl there during peak hours.

For anyone in the area, I’m open to recommendations! It's great that we've gotten so much variety down here and I'm always looking for new places to try.

My first time making ramen. The aromatics haven't been added yet, but i think the broth looks good so far, and that chashu is absolutely amazing.

Have you tried making hand pulled noodles?
I can never choose which noodles I want for ramen and some of the brand names are ridiculously priced.
I saw a chef on youtube that was a pro at making his own hand pulled noodles. Tomorrow is my day off and there is a big storm. Should I try it? Any experiences?

Any Los Angeles / Orange County ramen places to share?
Long time lurker, first time writer here, sorry if I missed some other thread for this. Wanted to ask if people here had any good ramen recommends for the LA / OC areas. I had some to share too, see pictures.

Jidaiya Ramen, Torrance, Kai-shio
Jidaiya Ramen, Torrance, Manja ramen
Jidaiya ramen, Torrance, Tokyo yatai
Jidaiya Ramen, Torrance, tonkotsu shoyu. I think this actually is iekei style ramen, but even if it is not, it is still a really good bowl.
Jidaiya Ramen, Torrance: Really worth a visit if you’re in the area, plus they won’t break the bank. And the chicken cutlet curry is great too if you’re not in a ramen mood.

Tsukemen Aizen, Little Tokyo, tsukemen
Tsukemen Aizen, Little Tokyo, ramen
Tsukemen Aizen, Little Tokyo: I am personally a bigger fan of ramen, so I can’t weigh in on how tasty Aizen is compared to Tsujita or other places known for tsukemen, but I definitely loved its presentation. There is a bit of a fishy flavor, just a word of caution. There’s a parking garage right next door if you’re having trouble finding parking.

Ramen Nagi, Century City, Black King
Ramen Nagi, Century City, Original King
Ramen Nagi, Century City: I wasn’t sure what to expect of Nagi when I first visited, but I really like the broth. They’re planning to open one up in South Coast Plaza sometime in Spring 2024 if Century City is too far.

Ramen Akimoto, Yorba Linda, jiro ramen
Ramen Akimoto, Yorba Linda: New shop that just opened up in Yorba Linda. The only other place I’ve personally visited that’s still open and serves jiro is Tsujita Annex, but I think the portion size at Akimoto is way larger. Prepare for a food coma. They also have other menu options like a chicken paitan and a mazemen. Welcome addition to OC, and parking’s very nice.

Ramen and Tsukemen TAO, Buena Park, red miso ramen
Ramen and Tsukemen TAO, Buena Park: Really small shop but the red miso is fantastic. I personally love the more intense flavor of the red miso, but you can’t go wrong with the white miso.

Kotoya Ramen, Los Angeles, black garlic ramen
Kotoya Ramen, Los Angeles: I think this shop is even smaller than Ramen and Tsukemen TAO and parking is even more difficult, but this ramen has a great broth.

Other recommendations I have, but no pics:
Mymen, Garden Grove: I don’t think I have any pictures of it, but Mymen is a pretty solid place for mazemen (mixed noodles), and their tonkotsu is pretty unique too.
I also remember liking Menya Tigre and Killer Noodle in Sawtelle. Menya Tigre does curry ramen
