Menya Rui is worth the hype
Got there at 430. Was first in line. Opens at 5. Was disappointed at first that there’s no tonkotsu so I decided to get the tantanmen. It was excellent. But my son and wife ordered the pork shoyu and I ended up eating most of son’s bowl. I never order shoyu because the soy sauce taste is usually overpowering but not this. This was genuinely the most flavorful complex broth I’ve ever had. I’m going to attempt to try something different every time I go until I’ve tried it all. This place is worth the wait but i reccomend just getting there atleast 30 minutes early and you won’t wait long. We were out of there by 530. Best ramen in STL is fair. Nudo house was my previous favorite and I’d have to order there shoyu to know forsure but I can’t see it beating this one.
