Erik ten Hag hopes Jonny Evans can join Bruno Fernandes in being available for Sunday’s Premier League trip to West Ham United.
>“We’re staying overnight [in Turkey\] and then straight to London, training Saturday,” Erik confirmed.
>
>“We expect, of course, Bruno back and, hopefully, also Jonny Evans.”

>“I haven't seen it, it's only what I have to tell you out of the second hand, so from the doctor and the physio, who told me what they saw.
>
>“So, first, I have to see the video before I can give comment on this.”
Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw and Leny Yoro have yet to feature this season due to injury, while Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount are all still expected to be sidelined for the 14:00 GMT kick-off.

Erik ten Hag: Whole club must do better to solve injury problems

Erik ten Hag has put Manchester United’s poor start to the season down to their injury crisis and said that everyone at the club must do better to rectify the problem.
Antony joined United’s list of absentees when he was carried off on a stretcher after appearing to injure his ankle in the dying stages of United’s 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce on Thursday night.
Leny Yoro (metatarsal), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Luke Shaw (calf), Harry Maguire (muscle), Kobbie Mainoo (hamstring) and Mason Mount (knock) are out of Sunday’s match away to West Ham United but Ten Hag has some good news in that Jonny Evans is fit to feature after missing the trip to Turkey.

>“That [the injuries\] hold us back in our levels, and also in our position in the league,” Ten Hag, the United manager, said.
>
>“Because when you don’t have the players available, you can’t line up the best team. And that is what’s holding us back in this moment. We need more players often available.”
United have revamped their medical department, recruiting Gary O’Driscoll from Arsenal to become head of sports medicine last summer, but they have not been able to rectify the problem of injuries. They suffered 66 separate cases of injury or illness last season.

>“We have to work all together on this point,” Ten Hag said. “And that is the players, the coaching staff, all the other staff. We have to do better to get more available players because we know when we have them, we are a really tough team to

Ten Hag was so short of players that he had to field Noussair Mazraoui in the No10 role in Istanbul, but the Moroccan will revert to full back at the London Stadium because the captain, Bruno Fernandes, returns from suspension.
Antony is unlikely to available, however. The Brazilian had been on the pitch for less than 20 minutes in Turkey when he turned and fell awkwardly. The £82million winger clutched the bottom of his left leg and appeared to be in great pain as he was carried off.

The results of those next five matches are likely to have an impact on Ten Hag’s future. The Dutchman’s position is under the spotlight after winning only three of his opening eight Premier League games, to leave United languishing in 12th.
